The A9 III is marketed as a high-speed flagship, but its firmware has been criticized for stability issues and the body shows higher-than-average failure rates in early user reports. Its price also exceeds that of more reliable full-frame options like the Nikon Z8 or Sony a7 IV.

The pre capture of the A9iii is a game changer for bird photography, enabling me to capture photos I would have previously missed. I was initially worried about only 24mp sensor, but in use if I have to crop heavily I will upscale image with Topaz and have not really noticed a reduction in image quality over the A1. The only problem is my cropping ability is much more limited if I want to enter imWatch T
Sony A9 III ek bahut hi popular aur accha camera hai aur isme kaafi advanced features bhi hai jaise 120fps shooting, 24.6MP Sensor, Eye and Body autofocus with AI aur bahut kuch. Mujhe umeed hai ki aapko Sony A9 III ki yeh unboxing video pasand aayegi.Watch N
The A9III is an incredible everyday camera that in the hands of experienced photographers makes every single shot count. It’s quite telling that talking to actual owners of the A9III, they feel the same way. This is as opposed to influencers and spec readers. I used both the A9III and the A1MarkII to capture my daughter’s college graduation, and midway through the event, I just used the A9III.Watch T
It's not good news.Watch M
For me as a wildlife photographer the Pre-capture is the main attraction of the A9iii over the A1, while 24mp v 50mp is the main thing against the A9iii. The Global shutter is fine, but I have never noticed rolling shutter with the A1. Personally I think 30fps is quite enough in most situations and the A9iii then gives a generous 12 seconds of continuous shooting before buffering.Watch T
He then goes on to discuss why the a9 III has a worse dynamic range - it's a property of the construction of the photosites required to achieve the instant readout of the global shutter.Watch T
I purchased the A9III and was stunned at how close to perfection this camera is. I have been into photography for 35 years and every camera I have used across all manufacturers had some shortcomings or compromises that you worked around with. The more experience and skill you have, the better and quicker your work around to these compromises will be together the most out of them.Watch A
The A9 III is capable of shooting at 120 fps with no blackout and a maximum shutter speed of 1/80,000 sec. and aims to revolutionize the camera industry, but what does it all mean? Seth explains concepts and points out details that plenty might not have considered.Watch J
I got the A9 III in May and am perfectly happy with it. I do love the ability to shoot in 120 fps in RAW and the AF is simply outstanding! I personally have not missed the additional resolution as the IQ I have gotten with this camera paired with the 300 GM and both TCs has been outstanding! I'm like Jared, I love the speed of the A9 III and the advantages of the global shutter.Watch J
A camera that does things in a full frame mirrorless camera we've never seen. We're talking a 24.6 megapixel global shutter. Global means, when you take the photo, every pixel fires at the same time. That means, no more banding, no more bent bats, warped balls or jello in your videos. On top of that, they have Pre shooting and 120 FPS RAW SHOOTING with full time af and metering.Watch P
Now I got my A9III, I tested it with Elinchrom, Broncolor Satos 3200 and Sony HVL-F60RM2 flashes. The flash speed you get out of the Sony HVL-F60RM2 is absolutely mind blowing. The flash processor and the camera processor talk to each other and automatically does all the adjustment. This small 60 Joule flash works at in Hi+ (120fps), 1/16000, f/1.8, ISO 250 without any problem.Watch J
The Sony A9III is a powerful video camera.Watch P
I just purchased the A9III and am still figuring it out. It’s an awesome camera, but will not replace my X-H2S. The A9III is the only next generation camera from any manufacturer with its global shutter sensor. I tested it to record my daughter’s graduation for both video and photos. It did not disappoint. I think all the fuss about the lowest ISO being 250 is overblown.Watch B

For me, the A9III is not just a camera, it's an experience. It's the best and most fun camera to use out there to date. I keep the Z8 just to use that wonderful 135mm Plena lens, and as mentioned before, by adapting Sony lenses to it, I effectively have two "Sony cameras" when needed and the Z8 is way cheaper than the A1. For my use it works as good or even better.Watch T
Sony has announced the first full frame mirrorless camera to use a global shutter. At 24 megapixels, the A9 III is aimed at sports photographers with a max shutter speed of 1/80,000 that supports flash sync, up to 120fps burst rate shooting speeds, 4k video up to 120p with no crop at all and much more.Watch A
Since your demo was completely pre-production, I doubt Sony had much to say (yet) about the noise floor and dynamic range, but traditionally those things suffer with global shutter and I’m curious to find out how far they’ve come in mitigating the the problems. The ISO 250 base certainly suggests to me this won’t be a low light powerhouse, especially with video.Watch M
The a9iii leads the Alpha range in SO MANY ways - and has their latest Sensor technology. shouldn't this cost more than the A1 - or shouldn't the A1 cheaper?Watch J
In my case I have just got the A9iii, but not to replace my A1, but as second body. They are both fantastic cameras and ideal for wildlife photography which covers most of my shooting. For me what I miss most from the A1 when using the A9iii is the 50mp to allow plenty of crop, although using Topaz AI to upscale photos after editing has reduced this problem.Watch G
The contour and slope of the shutter button has been improved, and there's a satisfying new clickiness to the top thumb dials, truly the best body Sony has made, and I hope this design is carried forward to other models in the future.Watch M
I have been using th a9iii all year for weddings, events, portraits, and I pushed and pulled files just the same as with the A1 and A7RV. The files are excellent. The global shutter adds a crazy flexibility for strobists that cannot be overstated. The resolution if fine, but yeah the moment the next iteration comes out with 30+ megapixels.I would be all in.Watch M
The Sony a9 iii Global Shutter Sensor is REVOLUTIONARY For FilmmakersWatch J
I purchased the A9iii cause I shoot aircraft and I just love it. Got to really test it out at and airshow a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. I also have an A7RV that I originally traded then purchased back for the price I traded it for cause even when shooting aircraft there are times where I rather have the high MP sensor of the A7RV.Watch P

I bought a used A9iii this week, I been using A9i since release. I was a bit worried about the high ISO performance. I shot some pictures in really bad light on Friday with 8000 ISO. Reading other reviews I thought that the A9iii would be worse than the old A9 when it came to noise. But I was surprised to see that it performed with np at 8000 ISO.Watch P
But now we have a production model and can tell you if this camera lives up to the hype, or if the compromises overshadow the revolutionary technology.Watch J
The A9iii is fantastic! I ordered right away. I shoot action and had two A9 bodies (I love the a9 series and couldn’t wait). In my opinion and for what I do 50mp isn’t needed, 24 is more than enough. The A9 iii doesn’t miss in any lighting situation. I don’t care about 250 iso it just bumps my shutter even more. 135 1.8, 50 1.2. It doesn’t miss.Watch S
I have been using the Sony a9iii and 300mm 2.Watch N
Great review happy to see you are enjoying the Sony A9III. There I was thinking I was the only one that felt this way about the Sony A9III. I’ve been saying for sometime, this camera sports the best Sony sensor currently available. The dynamic range is on par with the Red, but the Sony brings the best AF ever seen in any camera… at any price.Watch T
So, my two weeks with the A93 are over, and I'm quite upset because this has been an absolute amazing experience. Something that you really only can enjoy and truly speak to if you have had the pleasure of using this marvel of technology. And I'm not exaggerating because that's exactly what the A93 is.Watch I
The Sony a9 III is the world’s first global shutter full-frame camera. A global shutter eliminates rolling shutter distortion while delivering unprecedented flash sync speeds and 120fps burst capabilities. I’ve shot extensively with the a9 III, and it’s a game-changing experience. AF is crazily good, and the image quality is superb.Read B

I don't recommend using the a1II or a9III as a video only camera. I've used both (still using the a9III) and I've had both cameras overheat on me. If you can't risk missing a shot, or slowing down production, then pass on those cameras. I used to use the a7RV and it never overheated on me, although the camera body did get very hot!Watch C
The downsides of a global shutter for outweigh the good. Most cameras control rolling shutter really well these days with fast reading sensors, which also provide the benefits of high frame rate video and fast autofocus. Global shutters are so overkill with more downsides than good. A revolution, but a backwards step. Sony A7S III finally getting some firmware love? Not so fast.Watch U
The a9 III introduces a first-of-its-kind 24.6MP global shutter full-frame sensor. This allows true 120 fps burst shooting with zero rolling shutter or distortion—perfect for the fastest sports, racing, or wildlife scenarios. The autofocus system is upgraded to 759 phase-detection points, and buffer capacity is vastly increased.Read W

It's not 'just' a sports camera. It is way more of an alrounder than that. I used a Canon 5dii for a decade as my only camera & really enjoyed shooting everything on it. its 21MP was more than enough for me all that time, the only thing I really wanted was an articulating LCD, which is what drove me toward the A7Riii.Watch W
This is a next-level camera and one to be very excited about.Watch J
Great review on this camera and I’ve only had it about a week so far, love it. The auto focus has to be experienced to be believed. This is the first camera I have absolute confidence in the auto focus. The Dynamic Active Stabilization is also quite good. I think the initial concerns of dynamic range were overblown.Watch P
Introducing The Sony A9III, Beast in wedding photographyWatch T
It felt like bragging rights trumped rote functional advances on this particular release. Not many will be shelling out the $$$ to make this a "second camera", def a sports-focused camera as intended. Love seeing Sony continuing to innovate but this was not as colossal a release as I was expecting the A9iii to be.Watch J
With its rugged build, advanced features, and exceptional performance, the Sony A9III is a serious contender for anyone looking to upgrade their sports photography gear. So, is it worth the investment? Watch to find out.Watch T
The focus is generally good for most situations, but this camera struggles to focus well on people of color. The image quality is nice, and the reproduction of skin color is good. If you examine the dynamic range, you have a lot to work with. As for the high ISO setting, you can shoot up to ISO 12,800 with ease.Read M
I absolutely love this camera.Watch M
After using a9iii for a year, DR and high ISO is actually fine, backlit shots are still amazing, and the only major downside is just the 24MP. For me, 1 x a1II and 1 x a9III would be the best of both worlds, plus the a9III is still the better video camera vs. a1II, with 6k oversampled 4k60 and better latitude.Watch A
In this brutally honest breakdown, we expose three popular Sony cameras that may not make financial sense in today’s market: the Sony a9 III, Sony ZV-E10 II, and Sony a7C II. From global shutter trade-offs and dynamic range limitations to missing IBIS and single card slot compromises, we explain why hype doesn’t always equal value.Watch A
Have both, the A1 and the A9 III and whenever I switch back from A9 III to the A1 in the field, it feels like the camera is old and slow - which is crazy to say :goodvibes: They A1 win's in overall image quality, bit better ISO performance and better dynamic range. But NOT by as much as you would think it is.Watch C

The Sony A9 III is a camera that does exactly what it was designed for. The A9 III gets a lot of things right. The image does not need too much editing. The skin tones are great, and the RAW file versatility is quite good. The image above was shot at ISO 6400, and despite that, the dynamic range is quite excellent. While images at high ISO are not grain-free, they are usable.Read S

I just ordered an a9iii and I'm excited to see how it performs in real world shooting situations. I am amazed how much I love the A9iii, I mostly still shoot at 30fps, but the pre-capture gets me shots I would have previously missed most times out. Image quality is not noticeably less than the A1 and when I want to heavily crop, I just Upscale in Topaz AI with great results.Watch G

Trade-offs: lower dynamic range, more shadow noise, more post work. Base ISO 2000 in S-Log3 needs 6-9 stop NDs outside. Noise cleans up well, fantastic latitude. But a7 IV, a7C II, FX3, a7S III give better results with less work.Read P
I chose it based on one thing. Does it make my life easier? Will it make my life easier? And the answer is absingutely. Weddings are fast-paced, emotional, and unpredictable. So, I really needed a camera that I could use just to keep up with those kind of things. And yes, there are many cameras out there that can do that. But this thing is just so different. It really does stick to my subjects.Watch D
A9III is a specialist camera with relatively low max DR. The fast readout speed of A1II equals the speed of the mechanical shutter. So I got rid of a7RV, not interested in a9III, and got a7V because of DG-HDR.Read M
