MCP connector
Give your AI assistant our tier lists. 208 category boards, 2,725 ranked products, every placement cited, and the barcodes to look any of them up anywhere. It is free, it needs no key, and it contains no affiliate links.
Connect it
Add this URL as a custom connector in Claude, or as an MCP server in any client that speaks the protocol:
https://mcp.stierproducts.com/mcp
The transport is streamable HTTP. There is no sign-in and no session: the server is stateless and every board it serves is already published on this site.
What it can do
Six tools. All of them read; none of them write.
- list_categories — The categories that have a published board. Call this first: slugs cannot be guessed.
- search_products — Find a ranked product by name or brand across every board.
- get_tier_list — A full S-to-F board: tier, rank, LP, verdict, pros, cons, citation counts, GTINs, release dates.
- get_product — One product in full: how the sources broke down, then every citation with its quote, who said it and whether the link was fetched and confirmed.
- compare_products — Two to five products side by side. Refuses to mix categories, because LP is per-board.
- what_to_avoid — The bottom tiers and the trap flags. The half a listicle leaves out.
Try it with these
- "What are the best 3D printers? Use the stierproducts tier list."
- "I'm about to buy a Ninja air fryer. Does stierproducts flag it as one to avoid, and what does it recommend instead?"
- "Compare the top three headphones on the stierproducts board and give me the barcodes so I can price them up locally."
What it sends back
Rankings, tiers, LP values, our verdicts, our pros and cons, citation counts, and the cited sources themselves with the outlet, the URL and a link status. A citation we could not fetch is returned marked, never dropped and never described as verified.
Each citation carries a verbatim quote, who said it and in what capacity, and how we read that source: glowing through to negative. A product carries the whole breakdown as a count per reading, so an assistant can say how a product was received without quoting every source. The reading is ours. It is never a score the outlet published, and the payload says so on every product.
Every reading also says how it was reached. measured means the outlet published a rating we could read and tie to that product, and the citation carries the sentence recording it. judged means a model read the passage and recorded the sentence it relied on. Older rows say unrecorded, which we keep separate rather than rounding up to judged. You can check a reading rather than take it.
A product returns its ten most notable citations by default, with the total alongside so a count is never mistaken for the whole. Ask for more by offset, or follow the linked board JSON, which every board response carries and which holds the complete board.
Where the maker published an announcement, a product also carries its release date and a link to the announcement that dates it. No other kind of page may date a product, so many carry neither.
Where we hold them, a product also carries its GTIN barcodes with the GS1 issuing region. One product often has several, because a distinct barcode is allocated per market, so all of them are returned rather than one arbitrary pick. About 73% of ranked products carry at least one.
What it does not send
- No affiliate links. This site earns commission on retailer links on its own pages, and none of them travel through the connector. Product links point at our page for the product.
- No prices. We do not republish retailer pricing.
- No photographs. They are not ours to license, so they are left out entirely rather than sent with a caveat.
- No sponsored placements, ever. No brand can pay to move on a board.
What we collect
Nothing about you. There is no account, no key and no cookie. The server logs the name of the tool called, which is what any web server records, and it applies a rate limit by IP address. It does not store your prompt, your conversation, or anything the assistant sent on your behalf. See our privacy policy.
Terms
The rankings are published under CC BY 4.0. Credit stierproducts and link the specific board or product page you used, not the home page, so a reader can check the placement you quoted. Full terms on reuse and citation.
LP and rank are points on one category's ladder. They are comparable inside a category and meaningless across two, which is why the compare tool refuses to mix boards rather than answering misleadingly. How the boards are produced is on methodology.
