I like this camera but I will be less enthusiastic than on some point : - the lens is not a great lens. 14mm is not enough low especially if you want to use the digital stabilisation (crop problem) 11 or 12mm should be better. Then the quality is ok, but not as great as you said (we are far from the L series, but it's not the same price) - the screen controls luminosity is a joke.

Two big problems with the R50 related to stills. And both of these are not a huge deal unless you are into wildlife photography or a serious photog who likes complete control over your kit. 1. It only has one dial so running in full manual mode has a horrible workflow. Set your shutter speed, then hit a button, then set your aperture, then hit a button, then set your ISO.

R50 is interesting. It’s 15 fps RAW. But the buffer fills in 7 shots. So really, it can only shoot 15 fps for a half a second. I have seen people confused and frustrated about this when they purchased the R50 for the high speed shooting. JPEG only or even CRAW you get some extra buffer space. Guessing many (most?) R50 buyers are jpeg shooters though.

Clarification: I said the R50 has no image stabilization. I was referring to in body image stabilization. It DOES have digital stabilization, but my experience is that for video it's jerky and not useful for serious work. I still highly encourage stabilizing your R50 with lenses that feature image stabilization.

So, you can easily slip this in a small bag or like a coat pocket or something. However, it's kind of weird if you have a huge lens.
