At first I immediately noticed that JPEGs from the X-T5 looked weird and and mushy when enlarged. Because it has a 40mpixel sensor I was hoping for superfine results. The pics looked good but not great. I noticed a sharpening “halo” around high-contrast subjects; awful. I then reduced Sharpening to Zero or -1 and results seemed much clearer and showed fine detail when enlarged. But they needed shaWatch F
The Fujifilm X-T5 is clearly designed for photographers, but what I've come to find is that it's the perfect hybrid photo/video camera for me.Watch F
Author’s Note 1 : No Fujifilm cameras were harmed in the making of this article — only a few readers who skipped straight to the comments, missed the irony entirely, and will inevitably call the piece “defensive.” We’re not defending any gear; we’re simply mocking, in deliberately exaggerated fashion, the usual criticisms that are often rooted more in fanboyism than in actual, well-argued experieRead J
The XT5 is hands-down one of my favorite cameras, probably my most used, and honestly one of the things that keeps me within the Fujifilm ecosystem. I absolutely love this camera, and now that it's been so long since it's been out, we have to talk about is it still worth it and what my experience has been with this camera over nearly 4 years now.Watch M
I would travel more with the X-T5 due to the smaller size and lighter weight (including lenses), but I enjoy the ZF around home. The only "miss" on the ZF for me is the lack of Nikon lenses with true aperture rings to take advantage of the vintage shooting style. (I learned photography on the FM.) Also, the size of a Nikon "nifty fifty" is enormous compared to the days of compact AI/AIS lenses.Watch G
I reckon this makes more sense to the XT5's target audienceWatch S
I own both the Nikon Z8 and the X-T5, and I agree with you. I was also amazed with the Fuji X-T5 40 megapixel images. I used my Tamron 17-70mm 2.8 lens with the X-T5, but it didn't quite resolve the 40 megapixel images. I sold this lens and purchased Fuji's new 16-50mm 2.8-4.8 "kit" lens and I immediately noticed the improved sharpness, color, and contrast. The X-T5 requires Fuji's best lenses.Watch D

As a X-T2 user, who mainly does landscape photography (some pro architecture and portrait stuff) and very rarely any video, and love the artistic qualities of the Fujifilm cameras, as soon as I saw the specs of the T5 it was a no brainer to upgrade. Glad I waited! Will receive it in a couple of days and look forward to go shooting and have higher rez, IBIS, better EVF, changed ergonomics, etc!Watch E
Fujifilm X-T5 Hands On review - The Return of the KingWatch T
Is the Fujifilm X-T5 worth it in 2025? Yes. Even in 2025 the X-T5 remains one of the most flexible cameras you can buy. It isn’t the very best at autofocus, low-light, or burst speed compared to full-frame rivals, but it’s strong across the board and excels in handling, color, and Fuji’s lens ecosystem. For stills-focused photographers, it’s one of the most enjoyable cameras on the market.Read P
This is a camera that we've been very excited about and it's coming in hot with some big upgrades. From a new 40MP sensor, a new processor making a lot of things faster and better and a more X-T3 like design, there's a lot to talk about here.Watch A
Have used most Fuji cameras over the years and the XT5 was great but to much work searching in the overly complex menus. Bought the X-E5 on release and loved the form factor. However it was no better than the XT5 with the same menu problems. Too many features which don’t necessarily improve the results. I decided to scan back through my thousands of pictures over the last 15 years.Watch M
I adore the Fujifilm X-T5. I think it is the finest XF camera Fujifilm has made for photographers, and I'd take it over an X-H2s if I never shot any video.Watch R r/fujifilm u/MereK12 · owner
After using it for the past year, there’s definitely advantages to the X-T5. I love having a dedicated ISO dial to quickly lock in low ISO when I’m doing landscape photography on sunny days. The 2 way articulating screen is great when I’m taking pictures in portrait of my family from low angles. And I use the 16-55 f/2.8 mkII these days, which would feel a bit big on the X-T50.Read P
The Fujifilm XT5 is without a doubt the best of the Fuji XT cameras.Watch T
To be honest, the change of battery would not bother me that much, as the new battery lasts almost twice as long (X-T5 compared to X-T3), but I was happy that when I got the X100 VI I already had several batteries As someone that has various Fujifilm cameras that I use professionally, I don't need to upgrade anything to get professional results, the X-T3 hit a sweet spot.Watch A
In this review, I’ll share my thoughts on why the X-T5 is the best camera for photographers who need versatility and quality on the go. Whether you're exploring new cities or capturing breathtaking landscapes, this camera delivers stunning results. Watch to see how the X-T5 performs and why it’s my top pick for travel photography!Watch A
The X-T5 is one of my absolute favorite cameras, and coming from someone who owns the Hasselblad X2D II, GFX100S II, Sony A7R VI, and Z8, all for professional work, it should say a lot. Absolutely no one is packing these many pixels in an APS-C sensor, while everyone is moving to Full Frame, they know APS-C has a very special place and they do it like no one else can.Watch M
I reckon that the Fujifilm XT5 is pretty much a perfect travel camera for photography. And to test that, because I'm very science-minded, book 3 days in Mallorca for science. It's no good having a user-friendly, easy-to-travel-with body if the photography isn't supported. And I think it is in the XT5. So, inside we've got an an APS-C sensor.Watch G
I also came very close to selling all my Fuji stuff in favor of a simple but high end Sony setup - mostly because of the auto-focus. Also, it seemed that most of the razor sharp images I see tend to be something other than Fuji, mostly Sony. But I think part of my problem is that I just haven't learned the camera well enough yet, particularly with regard to AF.Watch P
I'm going to tell you what's good about it, what's meh about it, and also what's in my opinion at least unacceptable about this camera.Watch A
This is a great camera honestly it's very hard to find a fault much in this camera. It's a wonderful piece of technology. I have a GFX 50 that I love for my landscape photography as I've spoken to you about, but I still love my XT5 for many of my other Photography work that I do, and sometimes my grab and go camera is my XT5 it's also really good in low light.Watch B
Finally got my hands on the X-T5 after a few months of waiting!Watch D
In terms of ergonomics, features and performance, I find the X-T5 is the best Fuji camera I have ever used. My only concerns is that build quality may not be as strong as previous models (I sense some of the dials don't turn as smooth as in the beginning). Seeing also the failures in the XE5 makes me wonder if Fujifilm has dropped some of the QC standards.Read A
Which should you get? The short answer is. the one that fits you. Tune in to hear me discuss further.Watch V
So far, the two pictures shot with the XF 10-24mm and the XF 55-200mm during daylight have shown that the X-T5 noise level has improved and that the sharpness is slightly higher than on the X-T3. The last example is showing a lower sharpness on the X-T5, but this is probably coming from a lower shutter speed, preventing a perfect steadiness.Read A
Now, ergonomically, the XT5 is excellent in my experience. Feels great in the hand, it's comfortable to carry for long periods of time, and the layout in general just feels really intuitive. Coming from the XT3, it felt like an obvious extension of basically the same camera. There are two aspects to the layout of this camera that I love a lot.Watch E
Still I do enjoy the design my x-series camera and the back to useful basic design and dials I will likely soon purchase a T4 or T5 body along with a T6 looks like it will be coming out this year. But before that I will be selling an F1 body (tough but too heavy) and getting my A-1 battery door replaced (first repair since purchased in 79).Watch A
But, if I'm being honest, using the same camera, or at least in my case, using the same camera line, the XT line, for that long does get a bit boring, which is why I've been interested in switching things up this year. And after getting an opportunity to borrow the GFX100RF, as well as the X100VI, I've started to really fall in love with that digital rangefinder layout.Watch D
I had ordered an X-t5 but put the order on hold because there has been tons of complaints all over the internet Fuji forums about inferior AF performance with this camera. I think it is unfortunate, thought understandable given the crazy weather we've been having, that you were not able to do your usual in depth testing of the AF system.Watch S
Over the course of one month, 100 miles, and several thousand photos, the Fujifilm X-T5 truly surprised me. in a very good way. Consider this my initial review.Watch S
I had an x-t5, but the build quality was lacking compared to the older Fuji bodies I’ve owned- like the x-pro2. I ended up selling the x-t5 and replacing it with the Nikon ZF. The ZF has great build quality and the photos are very clean compared to x-t5. I use the ZF with 40mm prime and have not had any desire to go back to the x-t5.Watch S
After almost two years of use, the Fujifilm X-T5 has proven to be one of my favorite cameras ever. So here's a bit of a review/evaluation. Do I still own the Fuji? I guess you'll find out.Watch ᴀ
So I bought the X-T5 and it hasn’t been a great experience over the past two years. They made too many compromises in image quality/sensor readout speeds that have impacted everyday shooting for me and made the video quality substantially worse than the X-T4. Now I’m considering going back to the X-T4 after using mine again.Watch A
The XT5 is the first time that I've truly felt that the camera was out of the way and I could just focus on shooting. The XT3 is almost there, and the XT1 does get in your way a little bit, especially with its slower menus, autofocus, and even image processing time. The XT5, by contrast, is lightning fast, and the autofocus damn near feels telepathic.Watch R r/fujifilm u/CountyBrilliant · owner
I've had the X-T5 for two years this April. I wanted to downsize the gear that I hauled with me and when the A7R2 started to feel dated, I switched (back) to Fuji. Full frame mirrorless did not fulfill the promise of smaller lenses for me, either. For the record, the infamous Sony menu system was never a problem for me.Read K
Is it perfect? No. But is it a camera most hobbyists can use for many years and get incredible images from? Absolutely.Watch C
The X-T5 is a photography camera with video capability whereas the two X-H2 cameras are now the flagship video cameras with photography features. Your "niggles" are mostly on the video features. For someone like me who will rarely (if ever) use the video features, I could care less about the video side of the X-T5.Watch C
I bought the X-T5 as My Daily CameraWatch J
So question was if 35 f1.4 will work well on x-t5 40mp sensor. Your test only shows that result is not worse than on 26mp sensor and that should be obvious without testing (at least in these shooting conditions). But does it fully resolve all 40mp? It is not in the official list of 40mp "capable" lenses after all.Watch F
Spoiler alert, I absolutely love it, best camera ever! But there are a few things that can be improved still. Let me know in the comments what you think, hope you enjoy it.Watch F
Assuming the google AI is harvesting everything, including nonsense, that's out there it seems that tales of X-T5s randomly freezing, losing power etc. as well as suffering bad batteries, bad cards etc. are legion. There's even a historic thread on this forum of a dead battery still reporting it had 86% charge.Read C
So this is for me was like a best both worlds for what I needed for what the camera to do and I think this is like the best street photography camera. But also for details, you know, for doing portraits, best travel camera. Um yeah. Right now, yeah. This I was only traveling with this XT5, you know, my other video cameras and I have my contacts.Watch O
Received my silver XT5 yesterday and I couldn’t be happier it is the XT that I have always wanted. The resolution hike is quite distinct. The IBIS maybe only slightly better in the figures quoted than the XT4 but in practice it is a lot better and I am a shaky old 70 year old so it is much appreciated.Watch T
I know the X-T5 can save some settings for video separate from still settings. However, is it able to save settings such as 24 fps and shutter speed 50 with f4 and the another 60fps and shutter speed 125 at another aperture as an example? I have the impression the X-H2 can but am unsure about the 5.Watch B
The XT5 has been an impressive upgrade from my XT3 in every respect, and the new film sims, IBIS, AF subject tracking and custom setting capability are the icing on the cake. And I love how the XT5 the camera can be reconfigured in one or two button presses for any shooting situation. kudos Fuji!Watch M
I have both X-T5 and X-E5. They compliment each other well and sharing lenses is very convenient. I sold my X100VI to get the X-E5 as I rarely used the built in ND filter and decided it would be more useful to have a more compact camera for travel but with the flexibility of changing lenses.Watch T
Everything seemed right about this camera – improved resolution, in-body image stabilisation and a few tweaks in line with my preferences, all wrapped in a stylish body. Upgrading means this now tops my list of travel photography gear and forms part of my minimalist travel photography gear .Read W Wild and Free Victoria ArkCullberg · owner · Jul 2023
Coming from sony i love my xt5. Thinking about going from sony 200-600 to 150-600 fuji. The 200-600 is abolutely a great lens, itś a difficult descission to make. Ím following Your passion for Fuji in Your videos I must Say ím impressed what You have achieved so far! Ím on my way to 150-600!Watch A
My compact Fuji X-T5 produces stunning images under iso 1600 and is my designated travel and everyday camera. I have been disappointed with the Z8 and Z9 cameras with higher isos. These high megapixel cameras are better suited for sports and wildlife than for lowlight dance photography.Watch M
I don’t enjoy the extra bulk of the camera, but the images are fantastic and the better EVF makes it much easier for me to see the details I want to capture. From this perspective, going back to the viewfinder on the X-E3 is — not precisely painful, but certainly more difficult to use.Read C
Even though the X-T5 was released in the same year as the Canon R7, the R7 was arguably Canon's first serious APS-C RF camera, and the RF-S system began with it and the EOS R10 , and thus, perhaps didn't go as far as Canon would normally if it were part of a normal release cycle.Read B
The X-T5 is the most fun camera I've ever used. I wish I still had one. It just doesn't currently make any sense in my workflow. If I ever get unlimited money to spend on camera gear you can bet I'll be purchasing a X-T series camera and getting back into the FujiFilm ecosystem.Watch P
Great! I got my XT5 3 days ago and love it already. But I'm really curious about the best settings for birds in flight. That's my greatest interest, especially smaller birds that move quickly and erratically, like swallows or terns. So, I'd love to see you address that issue.Watch N
I might be jeopardizing my chances of ever becoming a Fujifilm ambassador, but that’s okay with me. I believe honesty is everything, and while I don’t hate my T5 (anymore) I think there are some things you should know about it before you go out and get one for yourself.Read G
I may well be in a group all on my own, but I own an X-Pro2, X-T2, X-T3 and X-T4; the X-T bodies all with battery grips, and I LIKE a bigger camera. I like the weight and the ability to turn the camera on its side to shoot in portrait mode with the duplicated buttons.Watch D
😅 This is the review I've been looking for on the XT5: fast but articulate, super-competent, hands-on, ticking all the boxes, talking like a normal human about the things we all want to know, things we need to know. Great work. Glad you're now at PetaPixels.Watch R r/fujifilm u/iDragein · owner
Only disappointments are aesthetic: paint chipped quite easily, especially around the power button. Also, the right-hand SD card slot door pushes in a little when I grip the camera making a slight squeek. Nonoe of this gets in the way of use, though.Read M
After a year with the Fujifilm X-T5, I can confidently say it’s my favorite camera I’ve ever owned. The X-T3 will always have a special place in my heart, but the X-T5 is still one of the best hybrid photo and video options on the market right now.Read F
The Fujifilm X-T5 has been on the market for nearly four years, and the question of whether it still holds up is worth asking seriously. At 40 megapixels in an APS-C body priced well below full frame alternatives, it sits in an unusual spot.Read K
I’ve been shooting with the Fujifilm X-T5 for about three years now, and it’s become my default working camera. Not because it’s my favourite camera to use, but because it keeps showing up, doing the job, and staying out of my way.Read C
The X-T5 is amazing. Only way I’ll replace it, is if the next X-T6 can also shoot f-Log2C (which I doubt it). And considering the price hike here in the US after tariffs, my 2 year old X-T5 is worth its weight in gold.Watch W
Started off on a Olympus micro 4/3 - A friend showed me their Pentax ME Super (fell in love with film) - Film is too expensive - Bought an x-T5 and it just hits the sweet spot between 35mm film and digital quality.Watch T
I love my Fujifilm X-T5 , but it’s the camera I use on a near daily basis for work, shooting product photography or article illustrations. As tactile and enjoyable as it is, the X-T5 is also a bit too good.Read T
The XT-5 looks the part and no doubt produces great images but I'd take the A6700 myself. It just has the lenses I want and 26mp is enough. I'd take the R7 for wildlife but it doesn't appeal to me besides that.Watch A
