As a serious hobbyist the R6 Mark II hits the sweet spot for price and functionality. I’ve been shooting landscapes and birds with it on lenses from 16mm to 600mm and it’s been great. AF is amazing in every respect. I have the battery grip and can shoot for 4 hours and still have 30% remaining in the two batteries. Rolling shutter is a problem with flying/panning birds, but otherwise is fine.

I don't think that I am sacrificing that much in terms of image quality to be fair because the Canon R6 Mark II produces very sharp video footage in 25 and up to 60 frames per second with no crop, which is great.

I got the R6 Mark II a couple weeks ago, and paired it with Sigma Art lenses and the EF 70-200 2.8 III and it is phenomenal! I did comparisons with the A7IV and the R6 Mark II despite have a lower MP count, is sharper when upscaled to 33 MP. The Canon also has lower noise, better dynamic range, and way less rolling shutter. For video, Clog3 isn't as good as Slog3, but it's not a huge deal.

Small issue of R6 Mark II is a quality of LCD screen and viewfinder for me it's not that good as R3 and I think it will be really beneficial to use an external monitor. Last thing I want to consider as a filmmaker who works mainly handheld is a image stabilization built in body in R6 Mark II stabilization works as good as R3 so for my test it's really well. question is To sum up and answer the this camera good for wedding filmmaking my answer is YES.

The Canon R6 Mark II is still a great camera both for stills and video work. It's been used professionally by a ton of people since it came out in late 2022. The R6MII really is a fantastic camera, and the rf lenses are so much faster when it comes to af, while also improving on basically every other aspect like sharpness, bokeh, and chromatic aberrations. 1) I prefer the Canon R6 Mark ii for color science. 2) 9mp doesn't make much of a difference. 3) Sony is one year older than Canon, and Canon will have at least 2 firmware updates. 4) The Canon camera feels better in my big hands.

I’m blown away with the autofocus. I think it’s every bit as good as the R3, and, in some ways better. So far I’ve used it for BIF (Snowy Owls and Great Grey Owl) and have not had any problem with rolling shutter or missed focus.

I’m satisfied with my new R6M2. It has fantastic AF and low light. The upgraded video isn’t of much value for my quick clips and interviews. I can cover events and meetings just fine with what I have. So I’ll be sticking within the R6M2 and saving up for a 28-70 f2.
