As a serious hobbyist the R6 Mark II hits the sweet spot for price and functionality. I’ve been shooting landscapes and birds with it on lenses from 16mm to 600mm and it’s been great. AF is amazing in every respect. I have the battery grip and can shoot for 4 hours and still have 30% remaining in the two batteries. Rolling shutter is a problem with flying/panning birds, but otherwise is fine.

All these cameras are great. It seems like camera technology might be hitting a plateau, with each new model released offering a few new or improved features but only marginally better image quality. That makes older models like the R6 II a great value, especially on the used market. The camera I really want to see from Canon is an R7 II with much less rolling shutter than the original R7!

I got the R6 Mark II a couple weeks ago, and paired it with Sigma Art lenses and the EF 70-200 2.8 III and it is phenomenal! I did comparisons with the A7IV and the R6 Mark II despite have a lower MP count, is sharper when upscaled to 33 MP. The Canon also has lower noise, better dynamic range, and way less rolling shutter. For video, Clog3 isn't as good as Slog3, but it's not a huge deal.

It is a shame; this effectively renders the R6 Mark II—when paired with the RF 200–800 lens—virtually unusable for my purposes. I do not know whether this same issue persists with the R6 Mark III. Canon Support: "Both cameras feature full-frame sensors of identical physical size; however, due to its higher resolution, the R5 Mark II has significantly smaller pixels.

I purchased the Canon R6 Mark II. I own and love the Canon R6. Short and sweet the canon R6 Mark II was a total bust for me. I used the R6 II once and the camera rattled when I too it out of the box like something was loose inside it. It seemed cheaply made. But I went ahead and tried shooting photos with it. The camera froze up while using it much to my dismay.

As a wedding photographer, Canon color science for skin tone is really cutting lots of post processing work for me. I also have Sony that i would give to a second shooter, however, Sony has this weird green grey yellow casting at the face. Pictures look dull, flat and lifeless. However, Sony take the video part here.

The R6MII really is a fantastic camera, and the rf lenses are so much faster when it comes to af, while also improving on basically every other aspect like sharpness, bokeh, and chromatic aberrations. Not to mention the video quality and functionality, which is just a joke on the 5D compared to the R6. Great stuff!

I’m blown away with the autofocus. I think it’s every bit as good as the R3, and, in some ways better. So far I’ve used it for BIF (Snowy Owls and Great Grey Owl) and have not had any problem with rolling shutter or missed focus.
