The MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 is built around a 26.5-inch 16:9 QD-OLED panel developed by Samsung Display. It uses the 3rd-generation QD-OLED technology with EL Gen 2 emissive materials. On top of the OLED light source sits the familiar quantum dot conversion layer that turns part of the blue light into red and green, resulting in a wide color gamut and the vivid, high-saturation look that QD-OLED panels are known for.Read T

However, there is nothing ordinary about MSI’s MPG271QR X50. Like its closest competition from Asus and Gigabyte, it is a top-shelf display with just about every bell and whistle (OK, no whistle since it doesn’t have internal speakers) you could possibly want. It’s a 27-inch Quantum Dot QHD panel with 500 Hz, Adaptive-Sync , MPRT, HDR 500, and wide gamut color. Let’s take a look.Read P

Considering that MSI hasn’t gone for an aggressive – and image degrading – matte finish on the 271QR X50, the reflections are very manageable. Obviously you won’t be staring at a black mirror the majority of the time when they’ll be even less noticeable than they are here. Impressive stuff. Out of the box the image quality is very good. There isn’t loads of calibration necessary. If you do require an exact image it’s worth bearing in mind that the 271QR X50 automatically adjusts brightness and colour temperature depending on ambient light. Fine if you’re in a windowless room, less helpful otherwise.Read P

It's got some other neat features to boot, such as a USB Type-C port with 98 watts of power delivery. While its AI features may be hit-or-miss for some buyers, the monitor’s panel prowess is undeniable. The MPG 271QR is one of the best 27-inch gaming panels to visit PC Labs in some time.Read D
Overall, the MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 is an exceptional gaming monitor. The only real drawbacks are those common to all OLED panels, such as VRR brightness flickering in certain scenes. We’d like to see MSI address this as well, perhaps with a VRR range-limiting feature, although this can be done manually using CRU anyway. That said, screen tearing is practically unnoticeable at 500Hz, so you can simply disable VRR in games where it becomes an issue.Read W
MSI's MPG 271QR X50 is an absolutely beast of a monitor with its 500Hz QD-OLED panel that delivers top-notch performance and great IO with DP 2.1 (80 Gbps) dual HDMI ports, and a lot more. Unquestionably though if you’re a gamer, particular those titles that can be run at massive frame rates, you’ll love what the 271QR X50 has to offer. 27 inch format is great for being big enough without taking up half the wall. Obviously a Quantum Dot OLED panel is perfect for filling your eyeballs with epic visuals.Read M
Additional USB-C power, and that came at a $100 additional cost compared to the 272 QP X50. So, today on the market in terms of performance, this is a better model than the 272QPX50, which is a little confusing because it's 271 as opposed to 272 for the other model. So, yeah, not the best naming scheme there, but it is the better model in my opinion. The problem though is that it is more expensive.Watch O
