If that's your jam and you're on a budget, the Alienware AW2525HM is ideal. It even works fine for some casual gaming and movie watching on the side. But if the latter are your primary use cases, I'd say steer clear.

The Alienware AW2525HM 320Hz LED is a downright outstanding monitor for those on a budget. With a 320Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms response time, the AW2525HM is great for gaming as it ensures a lag-free experience. The color accuracy, rendition and reproduction is excellent too, as is its brightness. Although HDR is slightly weak and there are no built-in speakers, this is still an amazing monitor for the money.

Sure, the 1080p resolution and color reproduction might not make it suitable for content creation, but if you want raw speed for competitive gaming, the Alienware AW2525HM absolutely nails it.

There's really not a whole lot to complain about when it comes to the Alienware AW2525HM, not when this ultra-sleek, 25-inch monitor with a 320Hz refresh rate is just under $250 (and even less during a sale).

So, is the AW2525HM worth upgrading from the AW2523HF? Short answer, not necessary for most gamers. The AW2523HF still wins slightly in pure competitive speed, but the AW2525HM is the more modern, better rounded monitor. If you're a pro FPS grinder chasing every last herz, go HF. If you want a smarter, long-term setup, go HM.
