Moving away from the standard ROG ‘Armoury Crate’ software (which is also compatible, might I add, for updates still), the Armoury once again directed me to their other online program called ‘Gear Link’, allowing me to customise my ROG Azoth 96 HE online through a web page. Here, I could do all the usual things I could do on the PC software, and it now seems to be out of beta. I can change key assignments, actuations, dead zones, rapid trigger rates, the control knob and toggle settings, OLED, and lastly, the oh so crucial, lighting configurations. It is just as user-friendly and a great initial gateway into true customisation.

This is the @asusrog Azoth, a 75% custom wireless gaming keyboard that's quite easily the best main brand gaming keyboard I've tried. Keyboard snobs will often argue that "gamer" keyboards are rubbish and nothing compared to custom built keyboards you can buy and craft yourself. Indeed even some budget keyboards are great compared to more expensive ones from better known brands.

It is incredibly heavy though, weighing in at about 1.5 kg due to its anodized aluminum chassis, but it's well built and feels pretty great to the touch. To be expected for the price ASUS is asking for. So, the keyboard does have a back plate that detaches. As you see here, for those who dare, uh it does reveal a USB type A dongle and a switch to adjust the typing feel between soft and hard.

It's got black on some of the keys, especially the outer ones on the left and right, and then it's got like these dark gray colored keys at the center portion of the keyboard, which makes it look really interesting.

Rog Azoth is a piece of art for Mac & Windows user and a programmer. Only thing Asus need to do is to hire the keyboard mechanics to reprogram the Armoury Crate clusterf k. They seem to know what they are doing.

The Asus ROG Azoth 96 HE is a top-notch option, no doubt, but is any peripheral worth such a princely sum? Even as a hardened mechanical keyboard degenerate, I'd struggle to recommend plunking down that kind of honk for a keyboard that doesn't fly around the room or at least do your taxes.
