The Move 2 are a massive audio improvement. There were so much better that I started to doubt why I ever thought the Move 1s were so good. Of course both are great and proof that unless you listen to decent audio components side by side you will likely be satisfied with what you have. That and the better battery life plus other improvements makes them a compelling buy.

The Sonos Move 2, on the other hand, just sounds more balanced. Even though its bass is lacking compared to the HomePod, the sound on the Gen 2 is just a little bit more well-rounded.

The Sonos Move 2 is no exception. The speaker has an integrated handle, making it easy to take with you throughout the house or on the go. It’s also durable, with drop resistance and water resistance — so don’t be scared if you get a little rough with it. The speaker also features a precision-tuned woofer to provide high-quality audio with a deep, dynamic bass.

Stereo sound is a great reason to consider the Sonos Move 2. The Move 2 uses two tweeters to provide separate left and right channels in a single unit, and a precision-tuned woofer to deliver low-end frequencies. You get a higher level of separation and sonic scale than a typical portable speaker that sends all the audio through a single front channel.

A big move in the Move 2, is the battery life. The original Move was rated for 10-hours of playtime, and now the Move 2 is hitting a whopping 24 hours. Sonos tested the Move 2 at about 50% volume to get to 24 hours. If you’re a mellow listener, you might get more time, but if you’re a hammer the party won’t last as long.

If you love the portability of the Roam 2 but want a serious step up in power, depth, and performance, the Sonos Move 2 is the one to beat. The base test I think its bass has lots of gravity. It sounded deep and impactful without sounding muddy because it did preserve the vibratto of the bass drops. Now, if you're a bass lover, I think the move to is going to be quite enjoyable to listen to indeed. In fact, its bass response sounds very similar to the OG Sonos Move which came out 4 years ago. Now, just a bit about the first move.

The biggest upgrade with the Move 2 is its acoustic design. Instead of the previous generation's single tweeter, Sonos uses two tweeters to create a wider stereo sound stage. That means vocals and instruments should have better separation. While the precision-tuned woofer provides the deep, dynamic bass Sonos is known for.
