Lenovo LOQ 15
The cheapest machine here that still games properly. Build and display compromises are real, which is why it sits below the more rounded budget picks despite the lower price.

That is what the LOQ 15 represents. With resplendent gaming performance and a sleek, sharp design that eschews the usual "gamer" nonsense in favor of sophisticated style instead, it's a laptop that checks a lot of boxes. Yet, it's not without fault, and although it entertains well enough, it could've been far, far better if only Lenovo had tweaked that entry-level model's configuration first.Read J
Build quality feels decent, last year’s IdeaPad Gaming 3 had a lot of screen wobble, but that’s not a problem here. There is some flex to the keyboard and lid when pushing hard, but it felt sturdy during normal use. The front of the lid sticks out a little, making one finger opening easy, and the lid goes back quite far, about 155 degrees.Watch W
After testing dozens over the past year, the Lenovo LOQ 15 really stands out. While it is thick and fairly plain-looking, it delivers where it counts. While many budget gaming laptops only feature an entry-level Nvidia RTX 5050 GPU, the LOQ 15 pushes the performance further, delivering well over 60 fps in almost any game at Medium settings—and up to 113 fps in Cyberpunk 2077.Read E
So, this is actually something you can realistically take to college or school, work, without feeling ridiculous. Now, that lid feels solid, the hinge is stable, and you don't get that cheap wobble when typing. And because this might be your only laptop, the build quality actually matters. Now, the keyboard is one of the more important parts of this machine.Watch W
If performance is what you care about, save your money and buy the LOQ 15. These games were tested without Nvidia's DLSS or ray tracing on, showing the raw performance of the system. While I wished it could get over 60 frames per second in games like Marvel Rivals and Monster Hunter Wilds at Ultra settings, I walked away impressed by the performance.Read S
As I was saying about the design of the Lenovo LOQ, look, this is a fantastic-looking laptop, but it's equally well-built as far as value-oriented laptops go. I mean, Lenovo has included a metallic surface for the top lid over here, which is pretty standard in this class category. But the rest of the body might be made of plastic, but it's not the cheap kind of plastic.Watch C
The Lenovo LOQ 15 is an old-school 15.6-inch gaming laptop powered by present-day AMD and Nvidia silicon. Most gaming laptops have transitioned from 15.6-inch, 16:9 displays to taller, more modern 16-inch, 16:10 panels. But the LOQ 15 is helping to keep the widescreen tradition alive.Read T
It's like having a performance coach that never takes a break. Now, let's talk about what you actually get in the box. The LOQ 15 6-in sports a clean, angular design with a brushed metal finish that screams gamer, but doesn't scream tryhard RGB. It's sleek, professional, and surprisingly subtle. Ideal if you're gaming at a cafe or in a shared space. The hinge is sturdy.Watch F
Understanding these compromises and, if necessary, doing a bit of “tweaking” (for example, by undervolting), the LOQ 15 becomes a very attractive platform for both gamers and students and beginner creators who want maximum performance for the least amount of money.Read H
In our tests, we calculated the total color coverage of the display at 97% of the sRGB color gamut and 80% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.Read N

Lenovo includes a 1080p webcam on the Legion LOQ 15, and it’s actually quite good. I don’t know if Lenovo was able to secure a different supplier this time around compared to last year’s model, but the problems I previously had with skin tones were nonexistent on this review unit.Read E
It's got an Intel Core i7 CPU. On paper, it looks like a pretty decent deal, but obviously with these budget laptops, these manufacturers do have to cut some corners somewhere to hit this price point.Watch I
The Lenovo LOQ 15 AMD Gen 10 feels like an entry-level gaming laptop very much of its time. Its modest processor and GPU aren’t going to blow you away, but its hardware and overall design might just be what you need to get gaming at 1080p, without breaking the bank.Read J
The new 2025 model has some nice improvements, but they’ve also made it worse in some ways, so let’s find out if it’s still worth buying in this review.Watch Z
It delivers smooth 1080p gaming, a speedy 144Hz, and fast charging capabilities, making it a good choice for work and play.Read T
Battery life isn't spectacularRead

The LOQ 15’s lower price forces a concession in battery life. It provides just 60 watt-hours of capacity. That’s not a lot of capacity for a gaming laptop—or any modern Windows laptop, really. The HP Victus 15 has a 70 watt-hour battery, for example, and the Dell G15 has an 86 watt-hour battery.Read V
This brings us to the laptop's infamous overheating problem. Lenovo claims it's equipped with upgraded thermal cooling technology, featuring dual fans and larger vents. But, users reported it still heats up quickly during extended gaming sessions or creative tasks, leading to performance drops and discomfort on your lap.Watch

Last year’s LOQ 15 with the same sized battery was able to last longer, because the 13700H uses the newer Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, while the 13450HX is using Intel UHD graphics. Based on my testing last year, it’s absolutely worth paying a little more for the 80Wh upgrade if available in your region. Unfortunately I noticed someWatch C
