The HP Omen Max 16 (2025) is an excellent and powerful gaming laptop. It brings a premium design, albeit dull and muted, and is bulky enough to develop your biceps. But along with that comes a stunning 240Hz IPS display and NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics driving the solid gaming experience, which matches the value this latest addition to the OMEN lineup is here to deliver.Read D

The HP Omen Max 16 (2025) is a great gaming OLED laptop that doesn't have any flaws other than the weak battery life. The webcam quality, internal mics are all crystal clear and I thought the stereo speaker quality is pretty good as well. Having said that, it is expensive but that's par for the course. Excellent job once again Andrew!Watch U
So, this laptop completely blew my mind. This is the HP Omen Max 16, and inside of it, this thing has an Intel Core Ultra 275HX CPU, which means it's going to be able to do a ton, but it also has an RTX 5090, which lets us get the absolute best gaming performance I've ever seen on a laptop. So, like the name implies, the Mac 16 is Omen's absolute best laptop ever. And y'all, it's pretty insane.Watch C
Overall, this laptop is great. The components chosen make sense for gaming in 2026, and, at the price point, there is unlikely to be many competitors. The proprietary charger and limited ports do make it slightly less desirable, but HP still has many more connectors than companies like Apple, keeping it competitive.Read B
It outperforms most gaming desktops and I've been carrying it around the world like it's a book. If you're interested in gaming laptops, it's probably because you move around. Whether for school, work, or travel, it's enough to the point where the trade-offs of a laptop are worth the quality of life conveniences that it offers.Watch N
I can’t fault the Omen Max 16’s gaming performance – its RTX 5080 GPU is a potent chip that’s well matched to the screen resolution, and Nvidia’s tricky upscaling tech should ensure you’ll be playing the latest titles at high details for at least a few years to come. HP has also been pretty competitive on price.Read E

The OMEN Max 16-ah0013TX (B85MZPA) is a smartly judged flagship. It doesn’t chase headline specs for the sake of it. Instead it nails the combination that actually matters for gaming, a full-power GPU with the right amount of VRAM, and pairs it with a gorgeous display and strong connectivity.Read T
Hello, your uncle Spert here and today we're having a ruddy good squint at the Omen Max 16 and this is easily Oman's most powerful gaming laptop to date. The Omen Max 16 Gaming Laptop is a beast of laptop, not only in performance but in physical form too. The computer measures 35.6 x 26.9 cm and 2.48 cm at the thickest. At 2.8 Kg (not including the rather large charger) it's just light enough to be portable.Read M
It looks good. It has rounded corners. I I think the look is nice. Sets it apart from some others. It doesn't have those big grills out the butt that scream gaming laptop. This pretty much aims to be the best of the best and just give you all of the performance you can possibly get inside a laptop in something that is still portable. But when I started doing this, that would have meant that you'd quite literally have like a proper desktop replacement and would be so thick that it would pretty much just be bound to your desk anyway.Watch T

Right, ladies and gentlemen, stop what you're doing because this, I believe, is the most powerful gaming laptop I have ever seen, let alone used. What I really like about these devices is their minimalist assembly and bottom cover. Um, you can see the way that the bottom cover fits into the side panel. They do such a nice job of creating a very premium aesthetic with these devices. This was very very reminiscent on the HP Omen transcend 14. You know, we're looking now at the Omen Max 16.Watch B

This slim beauty right here is the HP Omen 16. But don't let its diminutive size fool you. This thing packs a punch when it comes to gaming. Thanks in no small part to the RTX 5080 under the hood. But that 5080 is far from the only thing that this laptop has going for it.Watch J

I'm very, very impressed with this laptop, much more so than I ever expected to be. It's bright, sharp, punchy, and just flat out gorgeous to look at. Games look incredible. HDR is legit. colors pop without looking artificial, and the blacks are most certainly black. But here's the rub. This isn't rare anymore. OLED used to be a premium oddity, the flagship feature no one could afford. Now it's becoming pretty normal in the high-end laptop space.Watch M
Now, do I think this laptop is worth it? Personally, yeah.Watch I
You get two DDR5 RAM slot both user replaceable and more importantly there is an extra MVME SSD slot available. So that means you can expand storage later upgrade the memory and extend the lifetime of this machine instead of replacing it completely. But HP also did something really special in here. It's sleek. It's relatively easy to carry around with its thinness, and it's technically got great specs with with the RTX 5070 and the older 9285 H. Now, the question is, is it really worth the hype I'm giving it? Well, we're going to talk about that right now starting with Cyberpunk 2077 at ultra settings. Now, that's just ultra and just ultra. No fancy ray tracing shenanigans or upscaling.Watch T
The Omen Max 16 is the high-end version. It's built for gamers and creators who want the best graphics, the fastest CPUs, and OLED displays for stunning visuals. Overall, the HP Omen Max 16 is a great gaming laptop for the price of PHP 229,990. It’s not perfect; in fact, far from it. For starters, it’s not exactly the easiest to bring around. This specific variant of the Omen Max 16 also uses an IPS display only. The OLED version is a bit more expensive. But for the performance it offers, you get your money’s worth.Still, at this price point, you will haveRead S
And even though it is incredibly quick, it seems like they haven't gone all the way and made it unusable for people that just want an actual laptop to do laptop things. So, let's give her a look. Box is nice. I like space, buddy. Oh, man. We've got space and some grass. What a theme. What else do we have? AC adapter. Oh, that is a chunky power brick right there.Watch S
You do have to compromise in a few places, most notably the heavier build and cramped keyboard. This particular model also has a screen that’s merely OK. Personally I’d save a little more cash and go for an alternative with an OLED display, or one that’s a little thinner. Given the Razer Blade 16 is both those things, it gets my vote over this.Read J
But, don't get too excited just yet. We ran into some unexpected issues you'll want to know about before buying. The Omen is available in shadow black or ceramic white finishes. Take a wild guess at which one I've got. HP says this is their first gaming laptop with an RGB light bar. I think it looks better than light bars found in MSI or Gigabyte laptops with a clean diffused look.Watch L
It's not the fastest gaming laptop by frame rates alone, but it generated almost or just as many frames as its competitors. As our tests showed, the Omen Max 16 handles games like Far Cry 6 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider better than some rival gaming laptops, but performed worse with games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong.Read Y
Style is subjective, but I personally like this minimalist approach HP went for the Omen Max 16. But what do you guys think? So, while the aesthetics might not be for everyone, it does feel premium given the aluminum base and lid. Because of this metal build, the laptop is quite heavy, weighing 2.75 kg. It's also big and bulky, still measuring almost 1 in thick when closed.Watch H r/HPOmen u/yarlirut · owner

But for this white model, I've got to say, I really like the overall design. It's got a clean look to it. It's minimalistic and kind of looks a bit futuristic as well and and modern. It's got 1 TB storage, Wi-Fi 7. It doesn't have a touchscreen, so if you were curious about that, it does not. Also, the display is not OLED, um but we'll talk about that in a moment. When you unplug this laptop from the charger, the export time increases dramatically. It took twice as long to export the same 4K clip when it wasn't plugged into the charger. I will say that arrow keys are a little tight for my taste, though. and unfortunately only four zones of control for the RGB on this keyboard, but it still looks pretty cool when animated. It's got basically the fastest Intel laptop processor there is and a full fat RTX 5070Ti and it can be speced all the way up to an RTX 5090 and even with some AMD options which is always nice. That 5070Ti also gets 170 W which is pretty much the highest a laptop GPU can go this generation. This should mean that its components can perform at their absolute best. But let's see later on if that's theWatch C
The Omen in general just has an overall more premium feeling, but that higher quality material does add a little weight. It's not a huge difference, but the Stricks is quite a bit more comfortable to carry around with one hand. In terms of thickness, they're almost identical, so pretty average for a gaming laptop with a lot of cooling.Watch C
The Omen has a good reason to be thicker, though. It has a more powerful CPU and way more wattage to play with for its GPU. Not to mention a lot more upgradability. Those higher power limits also offer more power headroom for both the CPU and GPU. So, this should be interesting.Watch B
But the only downside is this laptop only has one USB type-C port. I mean, seriously, all of my accessories are using USB type-C cables and ports, and you are giving me a laptop that only has one USB type-C. That's not acceptable in my opinion. I can't use a laptop with only one USB type-C port. I mean, my external drives are supporting type-C. My monitor is display port with type-C.Watch A
Games run smooth, creative workflies, and multitasking feels effortless. But here's the part nobody really emphasizes enough. The battery life. Off the charger, this laptop drains way faster than you'd expect for something this size in 2026. Light browsing, you're already watching the percentage drop.Watch I
There's also a version with the GeForce RTX 5090, and you shouldn't get that. I'll tell you why you shouldn't get that. You should get the 5081. I'll come to that later. There's the Gen 5 SSD which many competitors are not giving you. So, you get that Gen 5 SSD, those, you know, 11 12,000 megabytes per second transfer speeds. So, you get that. You get 32 gigs of RAM. Yeah. Specs wise, brilliant.Watch L
I would not bother looking at these laptops while they're at MSRP. Wait for a good sale or grab an open box model if you need something today. That would be my recommendation right off the bat. Here's the kicker, too.Watch B
Ultimately, the HP Omen Max 16 is built with quality and offers modern connectivity, but its significant weight is a major factor to consider for anyone needing frequent portability. It ranks #5 of 16 on our gaming laptops tier list, in B tier. That placement draws on 85 cited sources across 68 outlets.
On our gaming laptops board, Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 ranks #1 (S tier) ahead of HP Omen Max 16 at #5 (B tier). Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10: The best-documented durability record in the category (Lenovo tops BGR's brand reliability ranking) paired with flagship cooling headroom and years of firmware support. The safest big money in gaming laptops.
On our gaming laptops board, HP Omen Max 16 ranks #5 (B tier) ahead of MSI Vector 16 HX AI at #8 (C tier). MSI Vector 16 HX AI: MSI's sensible tier with standard upgrade paths. Mid-pack brand reliability keeps it below the Legion and ROG flagships.
Someone who plans to keep one machine for five years and wants to be able to service it. It sits in B tier on our gaming laptops board as HP's most serious gaming chassis in years, with a proper vapor chamber, user-replaceable RAM and SSD, and on-site and extended warranty options broader than most gaming brands. Our research recorded no cons for it. If you want the strongest brand reliability record rather than the best service plan, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 and the Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11 rank above it.
Yes, both are user-replaceable, and our research called that enormous for a five-year ownership window. Memory and storage are the two parts that make a laptop feel old first, and being able to swap them yourself extends the useful life without a trip to a service centre. That is a real advantage over thin machines with soldered RAM such as the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14.
It is built as a set-it-and-forget-it flagship. A proper vapor chamber keeps the components cool under load, the RAM and SSD can be replaced as they age, and HP's warranty and service network is unusually broad, so a failure is more likely to be fixed than to end the machine. Plan on a multi-year ownership window.
HP's on-site and extended warranty options are broader than most gaming brands offer, which is one of the three pros our research recorded. That matters most for a gaming laptop because repairs are expensive and some brands are notoriously poor once the standard warranty ends. Price the extended cover when you buy rather than later.
Brand reliability record. The Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11 carries Lenovo's top-ranked durability reputation and the best cost per reliable year on our board, which puts it in A tier. The HP Omen Max 16 is a strong current chassis with real upgradeability and a better service network, but it does not yet have the same documented track record, so it sits one tier lower.
