Reviews well, but it's an overpriced, overweight desktop replacement whose proprietary internals and constant thermal load make it a poor multi-year bet. The 16-inch Area-51 or Strix Scar 18 do the same job better.

With its RTX 5090, the Alienware 18 Area-51 can handle the majority of AAA games at their highest settings at its native resolution. You won’t be able to make much use of its 300Hz display in crunchier games like Cyberpunk 2077, unless you turn on frame generation. But with Nvidia's latest Multi-Frame Generation technology inside, you'll see the Area-51 surviving the next era of AAA games for year

Heat is not a problem for this thing and that's why I like it. The Alienware 18 Area-51 with this top-tier configuration is not a mass-market product. It is a specialist tool engineered for a specific purpose: to deliver the absolute best gaming performance available in a laptop form factor. You are paying a premium not just for the sum of its parts, but for the engineering required to house them, cool them effectively, and make them work in harmony.

Holy moly. The mother of all gaming laptops 2026. My god, what in the monstrosity is this, guys? I'm telling you right, I bet you've never seen a gaming laptop like this before. I mean, it literally costs almost 5.2 lakh rupees in the market and packs the most insane level of hardware specs you might have ever seen on a gaming laptop on this planet.

The speakers on the Alienware 18 Area-51 are good enough for casual gaming and media consumption, delivering clear audio with sufficient loudness for most scenarios. They won't replace a dedicated headset, though, especially for immersive gaming. That said, most users in this segment will likely be using headphones anyway, particularly when the fans ramp up under load.

Overall, it is wellbuilt. It feels tough, but it does attract smudges and dust, so you will need to keep a microfiber cloth handy. The display on the Area 51 laptop is easily one of the best I've seen on any gaming machine. You get a massive 18 in WQXGA display. It is bright, it is sharp, and it is fast with a 300 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness.

The Alienware 18 Area-51 is a behemoth with the widest selection of configuration options and the heaviest form factor. That means it can ramp all the way up to an RTX 5090 with 64GB RAM behind it, while pushing those components to their limits with ample chassis space and additional cooling. If you're going for framerates over form, this is what you need.

One of the ones I've been most excited to check out is the new 18-in Alienware 18 Area 51. Area 51 is a, you know, retro Alienware product line name that they've brought back. You have got a combination of some of the things I would most like to get in a gaming laptop this year in 2025. And that is an Nvidia 5090 mobile GPU, an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU. And not just 32 gigs of RAM.

This game nets us almost 60 frames per second at 1440p with ultra settings and lumen hardware RT set to ultra with DLSS set to quality and of course some good old GTA 5 but the enhanced edition at 1440p at the highest settings with ray tracing set to the highest settings as well.

Total graphics power for realer than real is up to 175 watts. That's a lot of unapologetic power.
