And I can already say that this camera is a lot of fun to use. So, why would you choose the Ace Pro 2 for vlogging? First up, it has a large screen that you can flip. So, when I'm talking to the camera, I can actually see myself. And this is a really must-have for any vlogging camera that you're able to see yourself while filming. Second is the image quality.

It makes the Ace Pro 2 the perfect camera for filming yourself. The display has a locking mechanism. To fold it up, press the two small buttons on the left and right side. Then you can fold up the display completely. Of course, you can also use it at any other angle, for example to control the framing when looking at the camera from above.

The comfort of this grip is something I cannot praise enough. It genuinely beats the grip on many of the bigger cameras. And you'll notice with the added width of the grip, the shutter button has been pulled quite a distance away from my index finger. Now, that's when component number three comes in, the shutter button.

It's not perfect, there's shutter lag, and the buffer takes a long time to fill but the actual image quality has really impressed me.

I think a great pro of the Ace Pro 2 in the name is it really is very small indeed and even smaller if you take it out of the cage or if you just take the hand grip off, which is what I sometimes do. I tend to carry it around on this little camera strap, which is actually designed for phones, but because the Ace Pro 2 is so light, it works great for this setup as well.

I would say, if the AP2 does everything you need, go for that.

When it comes to vlogging cameras, especially if you're completely new to all of this, one of the ones that I tend to recommend is the Insta3 Ace Pro 2 because of how easy and intuitive it is to use. Plus, given that Insta3 more recently introduced the Explorer Grip Kit and their own mics, they're really working on making this a solid go-to.

Now obviously the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is already pretty wide, but when you add this it makes it extremely wide and I actually really love how it looks. I've been using it for a lot of photography actually and you can get some really interesting angles that I personally think look really cool. It gives you a field of view of 189° which is massive.

I don't think the difference is massive, but the 8K of the Ace Pro 2 definitely looks better to me. Comparing the GoPro's 5.3K to the ESP Pro 2's 4K, I don't see much of an advantage in the 5.3K footage. I'm not seeing any extra detail. What do you think? Moving past resolution and just thinking about how the footage looks overall, I'm a bit disappointed in the footage I'm getting from the GoPro.

What I like about this cage is that it makes this camera into like a perfect everyday camera, a street photography camera as well. When you put it inside and now it becomes like a photography camera. The photography coming out of this camera is incredible. Like being able to shoot 50 MP photos. Keep in mind, 50 MP on this sensor is very different from 50 MP on a full-frame sensor. The 50 MP on this one are pretty incredible. Some of the photos I get are just very sharp. Like you can crop in a lot in Lightroom, and you're not losing any detail. Filming wide-angle video looks awesome.

So, the first kind of amazing thing about this camera is it's an 8K sensor and it shoots 50 megapixel stills. There's actually an inch and 1/3 sensor crammed into this guy and it's really quite amazing. You can shoot at 1080, 4K, 8K. That's just wild to me. It's also got really amazing slow motion capabilities, like 1080p up to 240 frames a second.

Well, for about the same price, you can get something like an Insta 360 Ace Pro 2, a modern action camera with all kinds of fancy features, some AI chips for better low light performance, all kinds of capability, even 8K. Did I say it was 8K? It's incredible that such a small camera can be 8K.

And I'll give you some reasons why I really enjoyed this camera. After we arrived in Iceland and stopping at our first location, I was immediately having fun shooting with it. Uh the conditions were not ideal. It was a little rainy out and a little foggy, so I didn't want to bring my big camera out. um especially being our first stop. So, it was a good first test for this uh Ace Pro 2.

I initially was unwelmed by photography focus and sharpness (maybe my expectations were too high). Having said that, some image sharpening in post has helped.

This now makes the Ace Pro 2 a really good vlogging camera because you can actually dial in the focus and get your face tac sharp, unlike with the regular lens where the background's always really sharp and your face is just kind of slightly out of focus. The one problem I did run into while using this lens is that there's no visual marker to indicate where the lens is focused.

Sometimes the Ace Pro 2 had a bit more of saturation and brightness that looks more vivid, where the Action 6 was sometimes a bit darker, but in general, the colors look nice on both cameras and they have a super high bit rate of around 150 megabits per second.

The Ace Pro 2 does have a slightly larger sensor, so technically it'll perform a bit better in low light. But honestly, they're so close, I don't think most people will see a huge difference. And I didn't see a difference in shooting with them myself. The Ace Pro 2 can shoot 9K, while the Go Ultra is limited to 4K. But I'll never use 8K personally, and I doubt most people will either.

So, I've had the Insta3 Ace Pro 2 for about five to six months now, and there is a lot I love about this little camera, but there's also a few things that I don't really like. And I think 5 to 6 months is plenty of time for the gas, the gear acquisition syndrome to wear off.
