The RT85 costs $549.99. Back out the cartridge and the rest of the turntable costs you $313. What you get for that $313 is a 3lb acrylic platter, a servo-controlled DC motor, a high-mass MDF plinth, a detachable headshell, and a two-year warranty. That is the whole argument for this deck. Not the tonearm, which is adequate. Not the auto-stop, which is slow. The cartridge and what surrounds it. If that sounds like the right trade for your situation, this review will confirm it. For context on where the RT85 sits among every deck at every price, see our vinyl record player recommendations .Read A

I understand that Fluance RT85 with the Ortofon 2M Blue is already a very solid option, but I'm not sure how upgradeable the Fluance RT85 is in terms of wanting to test out different cartridges over time. I don't really have a very specific budget, but I guess something around 1500 euros would be the absolute limit, but would prefer to stick at around 1000 euros or less.Read R

The Fluance RT85N walnut turntable gets strong praise for sound quality and value, especially with the Ortofon 2M Blue or Nagaoka MP-110 cartridge. Most owners call it a big upgrade over entry-level decks, though a few mention isolation and motor issues. At around $600 it’s seen as a solid mid-level option for vinyl listeners.View post W

Beyond the cartridge choice, the RT85N checks all the right boxes for a serious entry-level deck. You get a servo-controlled motor, an acrylic platter, and what Fluance calls a “solid wood” plinth—which in practical terms means a high-mass MDF core wrapped in real wood veneer.Read T

I This is literally This is an end-game level turntable for me. This is the start of me rebuilding my vinyl setup. Yeah, I just I can't wait to open this thing. I'm not even sure if I can use it straight out the box now because I'm not sure if it's compatible with what I've got at the moment as a phono stage. So, my current setup is a Numark um TT100 direct drive turntable, which I've got hooked up to a Numark I think it's M101 mixer, which has the phono stage built into it. I'm not sure if I can use that phono stage with this.Watch F Facebook Brad Mayfield · owner

This cartridge alone puts it in a category above almost anything in its class. Let's start at the top, the stylus and tone arm. The Nakokoon Peak 110 is revered in the audio file world for its low distortion, highfidelity, and balanced presentation. Mounted on a perfectly counterbalanced tone arm, it glides smoothly across your records, tracking even the most dynamic passages without noise or wear. And thanks to Fluent's finely tuned anti-skate mechanism and adjustable tracking force, you get optimal performance without compromising the life of your vinyl. Beneath your records lies the solid acrylic platter, a component typically found on much more expensive systems.Watch T
