The biggest improvement with the Dream L40S is cleaning performance, especially if you've got carpets. The extra suction power is noticeable. On hard floors, the difference is fairly small because the L10s is already pretty good. But on carpets and rugs, the L40 pulls more dirt, particularly fine dust and pet hair. Obstacle avoidance is also improved. Both models are good, but in the L40S, it's just better at avoiding smaller items like cables, socks, or random clutter. I've had a few situations where it gets stuck and needs rescuing, but the L40S seems to be much better than this. One of my favorite upgrades is the anti-angle brush on the L40S. It works really well.
