Spoiler alert, I love both of these, but the only difference is this has a vibrating mop pad. This one does not. They both raise and lower the mop pads. They both push down the mop pad. I thought they both did a great job of mopping. And in fact, I thought this the the S5 was going to be better because it vibrates. But the X5 did just as good a job in my opinion. The only thing where the S5 may you want is if you don't want streaks. If you have really shiny floors and you don't want streaks, the vibrating mop pad helps with streaks. Now, I did buy both of these with my own money.

In my testing I found the X5 cleans just as good as the S5. just doesn't vibrate the mop pad. The S5 Plus vibrates the mop pad. The X5, it simply just it pushes it down, but I found it did just as good a job of mopping. So, I would get whichever one is cheaper. Now, I did buy these products with my own money.

Found no detailed specs, but I have measured the BL24 motor here at round about 4,000 Pascal fully sealed at the cleaning head, which is actually a very good value. Unfortunately, the robot doesn't manage to convert that level of performance on my test surfaces for several reasons. A review of its cleaning performance will follow soon. Moving on to the system on a chip. It is a Sigma Star 9211D, which is an absolute low-end chip, the same type found in the iRoot Roomba 205. That means we're dealing with an ARM Cortex A7 architecture, which is already quite dated. Overall, I couldn't draw any solid conclusions about whether this unit was built by PKA or not.
