Quick verdict: Two and a half years in, the Mini 4 Pro is still the drone the Just Drones team hands first-timers more than any other. Nothing else under 250g really comes close.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro fills a sweet spot in the DJI lineup.

This could be the best drone ever made for the consumer. With D-Log M colour profile and Night Shots!

And the actual number one thing that I like about this drone is that in my opinion, it is the best beginner drone on the market. It's one of the cheapest drones out there that still has amazing quality, and it also has a couple other features that make it perfect for beginners. The DJI Mini3 was my last pick for the best beginner drone, but this drone is definitely a huge upgrade because it has 360° obstacle avoidance, which makes it pretty genuinely hard to crash. I still have managed to do so, but it's really hard.

You will give up the nicer camera which is a huge deal to me, but I can understand if you want the mini 3 pro for all the other cool features and don't prioritize the camera quality. I always will though.

As for people deciding if it's worth it to go up in price to a Mini4 Pro, the Flip is in a really difficult spot here because the Mini4 Pro has already been established as the most loved, most well-reed, overwhelmingly capable for the size. Probably their best reviewed drone out there, the bestselling, and it's not a bajillion dollars. First, I want to talk about the picture. I am very happy with this. The Flip's picture is really crisp, and I don't know if that's just more contrast and maybe sharpness that DJI wants to go with for their cameras and firmware nowadays, but the Flip does have the look and the feel of the newest generation of drones.
