I have and highly recommend the Bambu A1 Mini. It's as close to "it just works" as you can get in 3d printing and it's on sale right now for $200.

You can have PLA, ASA, PETG, practically anything that the A1 Mini supports, load into AMS light and have everything ready to go. Not only is it easy to load spools into the AMS light, but it is also very simple to tell the printer the color, filament type, and required printing temperature. This is done directly through the printer, you don't even have to use a slicer if you don't want to. It is incredibly easy to use

But again, for the price, I'm actually very impressed with everything about how this printer is built. is actually quite heavy. So, this is a pretty decently heavy uh printer, and it does that because it's mostly made out of metal. All of these parts are custom extruded aluminum. The actual print, like these gray parts are uh plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap. It's a very premium feeling product.

So, is the Bamboo Lab A1 Mini a good beginner 3D printer? Absolutely. Easy setup, quick first print, and no drama

You can easily place this printer anywhere in your home or workplace, including right on your desk. The printer's width and depth are 34.7 x 31.5 cm2 and its height is 36.5 cm. While the A1 Mini performs movements precisely along the Z and X axes on linear rails, the table movement specifically occurs on a metal rail using metal wheels.

I'm going to use my A1 Mini and I'm going to print one of the trickiest one of the most nightmarish filaments out there. TPU. Now, if you've ever used TPU, you know people say it's a nightmare to print with and you need an expensive machine to print it. Well, I don't exactly agree with that

The biggest drawback to the A1 Mini is the compact build plate on it just has a 180 mm cubed, which makes it really compact. So, if you're working with a limited space, this will be great because it is a bed slinger, the bed moves back and forth, the print head moves up and down and side to side, but it's really only a little bit smaller than the footprint of the actual full-size A1.

So, if you mainly want to print PLA miniatures, lithophanes, toys, small functional parts, general hobby stuff, the A1 Mini is generally a great first printer, and I don't regret buying it. But, if you already know you are going to want bigger builds, tougher materials, or tall functional parts down the line, don't buy this one thinking you'll figure it out later. I did that, and now I'm the one splitting signs into three pieces, and skipping RC parts I can't print strong enough. I didn't buy a bad printer
