After Elegoo released the price list, the deal was sealed: it was the best value on the market. Now Elegoo is back with the new Centauri Carbon 2 and we get to find out if it upholds that legacy.Read J
Today we'll be taking a look at the brand new Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2. Now, the biggest change with this machine here versus the original Elegoo Centauri Carbon is rather than just having one spool, you now have four spools. All of them still on the right-hand side working along with this canvas right here.Watch M
I've seen cheaper 3D printers on the market, but this feels like a nice, contained, all-in-one solution that can help give you that push to get started. For me, that's worth the extra money.Read 3

I just realized that this upgrade kit actually has an adapter that they've included for the original buyers of the Centauri Carbon one that do not have the port in the back for the Canvas system or the multi-color system. There is a plug that they've included that you can plug in to the underside of the printer that's an extension cable that will allow you to connect this to the Canvas system.Watch W
If you’re running a Centauri Carbon, you’ll want to check these out.Watch T
Wow, it's solid. It's got this diecast aluminum frame which feels incredibly sturdy and it comes almost completely assembled. This isn't a weekend IKEA project. This is a plug itin and go machine. Assembly is a strong word for this. It's more like finishing touches. First, the display just mounts right here on the front. Two screws, one cable. Done. Next, we feed the filament.Watch 3
So, one of the biggest selling points to the Elgus Centauri Carbon is that it's enclosed. That means that we can 3D print more exotic materials.Watch R
If you are looking for a beginner-friendly multicolor printer that still supports advanced materials like carbon fiber-filled filaments, this one is worth a serious look.Watch C
The Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo is a budget‑friendly 3D printer that is easy to use, beginner‑friendly, and perfect for DIYers, woodworking enthusiasts, hobbyists, and professionals.Watch L
I've given it a good amount of testing too, and I'm actually quite satisfied that it's actually okay!Watch L
Just like the Centauri Carbon that went before it, this machine hits a price point that puts it as an insanely affordable but relatively reliable workhorse that for the vast majority of users will not disappoint. And like the CC1, its firmware has been released with some rough edges. It's not without some compromises, but again, for this price point, those are so easily overlooked.Watch L
So far I am super impressed with this thing. It feels extremely comparable and that price is absolutely wild!Watch S
Is the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 good for beginners? Yes. Auto-leveling, smart filament detection, and the touchscreen make setup straightforward. The fully enclosed design also helps with ABS and temperature-sensitive materials right out of the box.Watch D
This, my friends, is the best clone in history. It's better than this clone. Definitely better than this clone. And it's okay. Well, it's not as good as these. So, Chinese companies have really nailed the art of cloning. I don't mean like Dolly the Sheep that you just saw. I mean like cloning things that are products.Watch D DIY Engineers DIY Engineers · 16.1K subscribers · Aug 2025
And I really like the print volume at 256 mm cubed, which would be perfect for most of the things I want to print. Some people did complain about the internal lighting, but that was corrected, and it's now with much better lighting in the new ones that they're shipping. Now, let's look at some of the things that I printed right out of the box after I set it up.Watch P

That said, this machine has still been working great for me.Watch T
The Centuri Carbon has been really solid. I've done backtoback prints. I've done, you know, prints that have taken like 18, 19 hours, and I mean, they've just come out fine. uh everything about the machine like the hardware in it like belts, rails, things like that have had no no problem. Um it's been an easy just click print and let it go type of situation.Watch B
I must say right off the build quality on this printer blew me away.Watch

Unfortunately, the LED you can switch on to illuminate the printing area is woefully inadequate, so you’ll need supplementary lighting if you care about watching your print in real time.Read T
Many reviewers have praised its speed, rigidity, and surprisingly high print quality for the price. Others have pointed out small trade-offs in firmware polish and workflow that might matter depending on your experience level. In this review, I break down what I agree with, what I don’t, and who this printer is actually best for.Watch G
After more than 200 hours of use, it performs on par with those higher‑priced competitors, though not without a few trade-offs.Read J
I do really like the original Centauri Carbon for what it is. It's a pretty basic, cheap, reliable Corxy 3D printer. Got a good build volume of 256 mm in every dimension. The only downside here is that it never came with a multicolor option.Watch F
You gain colour changing. You gain filament runout failover. But you also gain more waste, more complexity, and you lose the ability to use the original lid properly once the module is installed.Watch 3
Watch this before getting the Elegoo Centauri Carbon—this is my honest review. I break down its blazing speeds, build quality, pros, and major downsides so you know exactly what you’re investing in. Perfect for 3D printing beginners and hobbyists looking for high-performance on a budget.Watch A
My first review unit arrived with serious issues, including loose belts straight from the factory. But after Elegoo sent a replacement, the experience changed completely.Watch Y
They’ve addressed many of the shortcomings of the original, but some still remain.Watch 3
In this long‑term review I break down what actually mattered after the honeymoon: the dim chamber light, the louder‑than‑average fans, a hotend clog from switching nylon to PLA without a purge (my mistake), PTFE routing concerns, strong print quality, and why this machine ultimately doesn’t fit me —even though it absolutely can be a great starter for the right user.Watch 3
But even still, I'm not quite sure you should buy it.Watch 3
I've had multiple people reach out to me to raise concern about the price on the Elegus Century Carbon.Watch W
If you’ve been thinking about picking up an ELEGOO Centauri Carbon 3D Printer, this is the one I’ve been testing—and it seriously surprised me.Watch R
If you're considering the Centauri Carbon or comparing it to something like the Bambu Lab A1 or P1S, this is the video you’ll want to watch before you buy.Watch R
The print quality has honestly been really impressive, especially with PLA and PETG, and the new Canvas system adds multi-color printing, automatic filament rollover, and a pretty solid feature set for the price. But it’s not perfect.Watch B
If a company came out with a product, they promised they were going to come out with a multi-color product, and they brought a product that was a garbage product to the market, it would have been worse than not coming out with a product at all.Watch L
While this printer does a lot of things really well, there are also a few important details you should know before deciding whether it's the right machine for you.Watch J
One thing I noticed right off the bat was that this thing is loud. Like sitting in an airplane before takeoff loud. I think you get the point. After calibration was over, I loaded up some Sunloo high-speed PLA and began printing the pre-installed beni. On close inspection, the benie turned out well considering the sub 20-minute print time.Watch 3
They promised an AMS system when it first came out. However, that does not seem like it's going to happen anymore. Releasing another printer in just less than a year called the Centuri Carbon 2. You know, it doesn't bode well as well. Personally, I got the Centuri Carbon because I wanted the AMS system as well.Watch

After a slightly delayed part delivery, VoxelMatters has finally finished reviewing the Centauri Carbon from Elegoo, which, once up and running, performed beyond our expectations.
