Much has changed since we first paired an iPod color and AirPort Express with the original A5 speakers in late-2006, from the Digital Trends logo to the way we all get our music, but we’re happy to report that Audioengine’s new wireless iteration of its A5+ doesn’t mess with a good thing. With nearly identical looks, aptX Bluetooth integration, and the same massive stereo image we first heard in the pre-Spotify era, the A5+ Wireless are among the finest bookshelf speakers in their price class, and are well worth pairing with your jackless phone and preferred streaming subscription.

Initially considered as a bring home variant of the controlled studio screens the match had already been planning, the first A5 offered melodic lightning in a conservative jug — at a common laborers cost. They were additionally among the first in a rush of heavenly fueled bookshelf speakers we've found in the years since.

Sent my Klipsch The Fives back during my return window and got a pair of A5+ Wireless speakers in Bamboo. Immediately noticed boomier bass from the 5" woofers and an insanely loud volume. Also like the brushed aluminum remote. Nice touch, Audioengine!

My mind is finally made with purchasing these over other similar options. my use case is home theatre/living room so I think I would end up wanting the wireless ones, as well as adding the subwoofer down the road. cheers!

Look, if you're someone who mainly cares about sound quality first, the Audioengine A5+ Wireless still absolutely deserves attention. These speakers hit a really sweet spot between convenience and genuine hi-fi sound. You don't need a complicated amp stack, you don't need endless calibration, and you don't need to be an audiophile to appreciate the difference. They just make music sound exciting.

The A5+ fed with Audinst HUD-mx1 USB DAC, with a pair of Morrow Audio MA1 interconnect, and a pair of Kimber 4PR speaker cable, after 300 hours of burn-in with the speakers and cables, sounds even more amazing, these speakers seriously need a good source, higher bit rate music file 320k+/lossless, good pair of RCA cables, good pair of speaker cables, I even went for the Audioquest Forest USB cable, even tho there are no improvement as far as I can tell.

I purchased the A5+ and the S8 subwoofer based on this (and other) reviews, and I can honestly say that they are an amazing experience for a Gaming System / Music setup. I would almost buy another set for my TV however I think the lack of a center speaker for watching movies on might be a drawback.

he highend is NOT crisp or dynamic. its lacking and boring. it's like you didn't even listen to these. go pickup a set of JBL 305mkII and compare. there is a massive difference. I will say the imaging is great on them but dynamics is something they do NOT have.

I think klipsch sounds pretty good overall. Audioengine has more punch in the lows but again klipsch is almost there and sounds more natural.
