Original listening setup: Luxman R-117 -- SVS Soudnpath cables -- Energy ESM-2 monitors I was using this setup for years then I switched to these Sony SS-CS5 speakers. Straight out the box they are genuinely impressive. A bit too much treble though, slightly fatiguing to the ears. I listened to them for about 4 months on a daily basis in my home office. I keep the music going all day while I work.Watch T
My review of the sony ss-cs5 speaker. Also a quick mention of the Polk Audio RTi A9.Watch I
As an admitted fan of Sony audio/video/camera products, I do bring my biases. As a former amateur band, symphony, and jazz band musician for decades, I also bring my particular hearing and listening experiences that in my particular case fully explain and justify exactly why I am admitted Sony fan - and definitely a huge admirer or fan of their SSCS5 speaker.Watch N

I can only echo the other comments - GREAT REVIEW! These speakers recently went up on my wall in a smaller office. The front covers came right off - much better on the eyes as you pointed out. Also, I'm blown away by the 'surround' sound effect they seem to produce. Affordable and versatile little system. I'm a huge fan now. Thanks again!Watch J
Um the audio is not going to be perfect, but I think you get a good representation just through this smartphone of what this speaker the Sony core series SSCS5 can do. Leave some comments, tell me what you want to hear and tell me what you think about them. Anything you want to know further, I'll be doing further songs, further genres. Tell me what you think. Bye.Watch H
I bought a pair of the Sony cs5 speakers, they're not bad speakers, I was impressed with how strong they are and sounded when I plugged them with a vintage pioneer amp without a subwoofer. Now I have the speakers plugged with a Sony STR-DH190 receiver and Sony cs9 subwoofer for extra bass. So far I'm happy with the whole Sony setup.Watch R

Your other posts with demos show the sound quality of SSCS5 speakers with that overachieving budget Sony STR-DH130 receiver to be extremely good, even considering limitations inherent in sending to my very effective budget Vizio soundbar/Sony SACS9 sub system. Thanks.Watch P

I just bought the Sony cs5’s and sold my Kali LP-6’s. I’m looking at the connection. Is there anyway I can connect the Sony CS5’s using TRS cables? I purchased a TRS to dual RCA but it looks like your wiring is different.Watch Z
I got a pair. It’s really good for the price. I love them hooked up to my TV. The bass extends well for AV and I don’t need a sub for a small room. Not that the bass is that low but it’s low enough to enjoy a movie.Watch M
Hence this choice by Sony of including that little "super-tweeter" in a box selling at a very budget-friendly price instead of putting the money into upgrading the other drivers or enclosure is curious.Read A

Why some audiophiles call them overrated: Independent measurements reveal significant flaws – Audio Science Review’s comprehensive test found directivity error around 3 kHz at the crossover point.Read A
Ultimately, the Sony SS-CS5 makes high-quality listening experiences accessible to anyone, which is why so many music lovers have fallen in love with it over the years.Read I
I have the Sony's and agreed with everything you said about them. They are awesome and punch WAY higher than their price point! And your vinyl wrap work is fantastic!Watch A
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the SS-CS5s are the best deal in home audio, period. Even at the regular price.Watch T
They sound really nice, the bass is better in the small bedroom as compared to my living room.Watch M
