Like pretty much any passive loudspeaker, the DALI Kupid need to be working for a while before they start to sound how they actually sound – but unlike quite a few alternative designs, the Kupid take a good while to reach ‘operating temperature’. DALI reckons you should budget for 100 hours or so before your Kupid really start to sing.Read W

The DALI KUPID Speakers are a high-end speaker system in an astonishingly small package. I was unprepared for the sound quality and had to check during my initial setup whether I had these speakers on rather than the bigger speakers in my listening room. The DALI KUPID bookshelf speakers are a diminutive 5.91″ W x 9.64″ H x 7.80” D. They weigh just over 6 pounds each. Yet, the sound is big, pinpoint precise in terms of imaging, with a smooth frequency balance except for the deepest bass, yet bass tones come across as natural if what you are listening to doesn’t go too deep.Read A
The DALI KUPID is a compact marvel of a speaker with a fun, fresh and lively musical presentation which sounds far bigger than you will think possible when you see the tiny 23.7cm high frame. The build and design quality is superb, and they are super easy to live with. You won't have any problems with placement or partnering equipment.Watch W
Dynamically, the Kupid can pull out the ebbs and flow of tracks with conviction, while also revealing subtler moments with a deft hand. They're able to bring out the drama of more challenging tunes, and while they may be small and nimble, we don't often feel as though the Kupid aren't immersing us in the music we feed them. As we made clear in our review's verdict: "A great choice for small, modern music systems, the entertaining Dali Kupid speakers will win over many hearts". A nice way to put it.Read A
In this review, I take a closer look at the DALI KUPID and break down what makes this tiny bookshelf speaker such an interesting option. From desktop listening to a more serious hi-fi setup, it delivered a sound that felt smoother, larger, and more refined than I expected. If you’ve been curious about a small speaker with real personality and a lot to offer in the right setup, this one is worth a lookWatch W

In this review I take a detailed listen to the Dali Kupid two-way passive speakers, testing them with vinyl including Seal’s self-titled LP and Elton John’s Honky Château. I compare the Kupids against Fosi SP601 speakers, Q Acoustics 3020i and even budget Roth OLi RA1 designs to see how they perform in real HiFi systems. Despite their compact size and modest price, the Kupids deliver impressive bass structure, focused mids and controlled treble, making them ideal for small rooms, desktop systems and near-field listening.Watch A
The new DALI Kupid will be available for the end of the year 2025 holidays, and is a bold move from the Danish company, that will probably create more valuable brand recognition than its flagship DALI Kore ( €100,000 per pair) loudspeaker did. No doubt, the Kore is probably one of the best hifi loudspeakers ever designed, one that could easily challenge many "luxury" products costing up to another "0".Read A Audio Test Magazin Audio Test Magazin · 11.7K subscribers · Mar 2026
We invested a relatively large amount of time in our test, and it was definitely worth it, because we were able to really understand how this speaker works with the room and that you can get a lot out of these bookshelf speakers if you set them up properly. And in conclusion, we can only say that we are just as enthusiastic about these speakers as seemingly everyone else . So, we can't find anything to criticize about these Dali Coupit speakers , except that they are small. But because they are small, they also have advantages; they are very inexpensive, very well made, look very stylish, and sound good tooWatch A
Watch I

I can confirm these are fantastic speakers. Mine are in Chilly Blue paired with a Wiim Amp Ultra and the sound just keeps getting better as the hours roll on. The clarity and sound stage is awesome. They sound better than the Spektor 2s and in my opinion Oberon1. These are little gems.Read thread B
The DALI KUPID is a compact, premium 2-way passive bookshelf loudspeaker designed to deliver genuine Hi-Fi performance in small spaces. I own the Dali Kupid speakers; they’re great. I previously had the Oberon 3 and 5, as well as the Sonik 3. Those had more bass but weren't quite as "lively." The Kupid are like little volcanoes—incredibly spirited—which is something I felt was slightly lacking in the Oberons.Watch T

The DALI KUPID is the most fun of the group, particularly with electronic music. Rhythm, pacing, and separation are its strengths, and it keeps complex tracks engaging without sounding aggressive. The trade-off is resolution. Compared to the other two, it doesn’t dig as deeply into recordings, especially with acoustic material and jazz. It prioritizes enjoyment over analysis.Read F
They sound great, especially given how compact they are, but a subwoofer will be an absolute must if you desire a fuller sound profile or listen to music with heavy bass.Read
Frequently asked questions
It ranks #4 of 31 on our bookshelf speakers tier list, in A tier. That placement draws on 33 cited sources across 27 outlets.
None of the 33 sources with a clear view is critical of it. High failure rate in long-term use. Limited warranty coverage. Firmware updates rarely released. Small cabinet limits ultimate scale and bass weight.
Someone who wants a very small passive speaker with a lively, entertaining sound at a low cost, and who will not mind replacing it sooner than a heavier speaker. It ranks fourth on our board in A tier on value and personality, and it tops What Hi-Fi?'s current best budget hi-fi speakers guide. If you want a budget speaker that lasts, the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 is the safer buy on our board, with robust construction and a sound that stays stable for years.
Not as long as the other A tier speakers. Our research records a high failure rate in long-term use and limited warranty coverage, which is why the verdict says its longevity is reduced despite the good sound. Buy it for the sound now, not as a decade-long investment. The Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 is the board's durable budget alternative.
Failures in long-term use are the main complaint, and the limited warranty means those failures can land on the owner. The other limit is physical: the small cabinet caps ultimate scale and bass weight, so it cannot fill a large room. Neither problem shows up in a short demo, which is where the Kupid shines.
Enough for a desk or a small room, not for a large one. Our research notes that the small cabinet limits ultimate scale and bass weight, even though the sound is lively and entertaining. If you want more bass from a compact passive speaker, the KEF R3 Meta is the board's pick, and the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 has excellent bass response for its cost.
Yes. The Dali Kupid is a passive speaker and needs a stereo or integrated amplifier with speaker outputs. Its small size makes it a natural fit for a compact amplifier on a desk or shelf. It has no built-in amplification or wireless input.
