The TaylorMade Tour Response has always occupied a fascinating space in the golf ball market. It is not quite a tour ball, not quite a mid-range ball, but something deliberately positioned to give average club golfers access to premium technologies without the premium price tag. Now in its third iteration for 2025, the Tour Response features a three-piece construction with a 100% cast urethane cover, a Speed Wrapped Core, and TaylorMade's Tour Flight Dimple Pattern. At around $40 per dozen, it sits well below the $50 TP5 and TP5x models that Rory McIlroy and Nelly Korda play on tour, yet it borrows heavily from those flagship designs.Read G Golf Ball Addict Golf Ball Addict · 29K subscribers · Aug 2026
Okay, so this is actually pretty consistent, I got to say. I got to give Tailor Made credit. 67. Yeah. Uh we'll call it 68. But I'll tell you what, that's pretty good. It's actually a very, very, very soft golf ball.Watch G r/golf u/DaddyERIK84 · owner
Just played one of my best rounds of recent memory with the Taylormade Tour Response. Decent driver distance, good spin on the short irons and wedges, good feel off the putter. Best round to date was played with the Kirkland Signature V3, second best with Callaway Chrome Soft (Costco Soccer Ball). Srixon Z Star honorable mention. As much as I want to love Pro V1s, and as much as I am itching to get my Pro V1x left dash out on the course (Christmas gift) - deep down I know those balls are above my skill level (14.2). If you haven't hit the Tour Response yet, give them a try!Read thread G Golf Equipment Reviews Golf Equipment Reviews · 28.5K subscribers · Aug 2025
Tailor Made doesn't cut corners here. The balls are precision engineered for consistent compression, perfect roundness, and uniform dimples. The urethane cover is tough, resisting scuffs and cuts much better than your average ball.Watch G
Nobody’s putting the Tour Response in a tour bag over a TP5x, and that’s fine — it was never built to win that fight. What it does well is give mid-swing-speed players real greenside spin and a soft, controllable feel for less than $40 a dozen, without the marketing noise that comes with TaylorMade’s flagship line. If you’ve been playing a two-piece distance ball because urethane felt like it was priced for someone else’s budget, the TaylorMade Tour Response is exactly the ball built to change your mind.Read R Randy Gibson Golf Randy Gibson Golf · 4.8K subscribers · Sept 2026
Overall, the TaylorMade Tour Response, um it's a very good golf ballWatch G
After a 30-day on-course field test and launch monitor data review, the TaylorMade Tour Response golf balls are definitively worth it for moderate swing speed players. The 100% cast urethane cover delivers exceptional greenside spin and a buttery soft feel, though aggressive swingers over 105 mph may experience slightly elevated driver spin compared to firmer tour alternatives.Read M Maple Hill Golf Maple Hill Golf · 3.6K subscribers · Oct 2024
All right, I just got done with the TaylorMade Tour Response today for the one ball challenge. It went 285 off the tee. Felt solid, flew the right trajectory, and then I had about 110 in, hit a good wedge shot to about 10 ft, and just missed the putt, but off the driver and off the wedge, it felt really good, spun nicely on the greens, felt soft when I was putting. Really like this one.Watch G
Thanks to the 100% cast urethane cover, the soft cover genuinely rivals the feel of some of the best premium golf balls on the market, and I feel it gives it a nice edge on similar balls in the price range such as the Srixon Q-Star Tour - of which I took to the studio and the course to compare the performance.Read S Swing Golfology Swing Golfology · 3.2K subscribers · Apr 2024

The TaylorMade Tour Response is highly thought of at Today's Golfer, but every year this golf ball has featured in our robot test, it's been somewhat underwhelming. There's not much to grumble about with how the Tour Response performed this year, other than it's the second-lowest-spinning golf ball in the three-piece club golfer category around the greens (5,353rpm).Read T Tinkr | Reviews & Guides Tinkr | Reviews & Guides · 141K subscribers · Apr 2026
