| Yes, the Sony RX100 VII can be used for astrophotography, especially with its high-resolution sensor and versatile features, but it may have limitations compared to dedicated astro cameras. Using manual settings, a tripod, and long exposures can help achieve good results.Read A
Um and I actually think, although I'm a bit biased, but I actually think, genuinely think you're better off buying a Sony RX100 VI or VII over the new Panasonic TZ300. The TZ300 actually is quite limited in specs really when you look at it. And it's actually very similar, if not identical, to the Panasonic TZ200 that came out in 2018. So that's 8 years ago.Watch N
The Sony RX100 VII remains one of the most capable premium compact cameras available in 2026. Smartphones now handle most casual photos, and mirrorless cameras dominate serious photography, but the RX100 VII still has a clear place between both.Read B
This is a really top and premium compact camera. And this is the Sony ZV-1. Now, these cameras have the same sensor and they have a lot of similarities. They are hybrid cameras, which means they can be used for photography or video. The RX100 is much more stills-centered and the ZV-1 is much more video-centered.Watch T TikTok TikTok post

If you've been looking for a pocket-sized camera that still hits near professional-level performance, the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII bundle is one of the most powerful compact cameras ever made. This is the type of camera people buy when smartphones aren't cutting it anymore, but they still want something small enough to carry everywhere.Watch F Facebook Leandrö Pasiä · owner

I still think the RX100 VII makes the most sense for travelers, parents, and photographers who want one genuinely portable camera that can cover wide scenes, portraits, and distant details without changing lenses. It also remains the strongest choice in the RX100 family if you want the most complete autofocus package and the extra flexibility of the microphone input.Read M
You have a small 1-in sensor, which in bright light, you know, you're getting nice daytime shots. You probably won't notice it, but in lower light, you might see more grain and stuff like that than you're used to with obviously a full-frame or even APS-C sensor. I personally am not bothered by that cuz, you know, you get a small size.Watch F
The age is the main caveat. Sony hasn’t released a new RX100 model in years, and availability can be patchy. It isn’t cheap for a compact camera either. But if you can find one, it’s the best pocketable camera with a zoom that you can buy.Read D
The premium makes sense only if you absolutely need pocket size with top-tier autofocus. Travel photographers wanting one compact for everything might justify the cost. Content creators who vlog a lot appreciate the features.Read I Instagram Instagram post
For this camera, it was probably the video quality that lacked. One thing you can’t argue against when it comes to this Sony RX100 VII is the fact that the photos are as good as a high-end mirrorless camera.View post B Blogspot Article

The RX100 VII was already very expensive before the price increases, and now it's way too expensive. It seems almost like the G7X III's best selling point is that it's not as expensive as the RX100. They're also old. I can understand the companies not wanting to spend the money to develop new cameras at the risk of them not selling well, with it being much cheaper just to produce old ones.
