The Fujifilm X100VI is the kind of camera that makes photography fun again. It’s compact, it’s stylish, and yes I’ll admit it, I partly wanted it because it looks so good. The design alone is enough to get people start a conversation when I’m out shooting. I chose the black version, and honestly, it feels like carrying around a little piece of vintage charm with modern tech under the bonnet.

It's like a solid no-frills upgrade. And to some people that might seem a little boring. But also, here's the thing. Over the last 4 years, I've had the opportunity to shoot with a lot of really cool cameras. I've shot cameras with massive resolutions. I've shot cameras with massive price tags and I've shot cameras with massive aspect ratios. But none of those cameras were the camera that stayed i

Purchasing this camera wasn't an option for me as I only recently bought a Fujifilm X100VI (which I am obsessed with), but I was browsing one of the online camera stores here in Australia (Digital Camera Warehouse) and saw that they were advertising their latest photography competition. I knew they often ran monthly competitions, I've just never entered any.

The Fujifilm X100 line are insanely popular cameras and they are fantastic fun to use. But I don't think they're actually the easiest camera systems to get started and get shooting with, even if you're a really experienced photographer.

Spitz also highlights details like the excellent image quality, the joy of using the manual dials, and the surprising durability when paired with the optional filter-and-hood combo for weather-sealing. The camera’s compact size makes it easy to carry for family trips, hikes, or personal projects without the burden of professional gear.

And I love that they maintained the same look, size, and functionality like the leaf shutter, the built-in flash, the flip-up screen across the entire X100 lineup. Some extra features worth noting is they did manage to fit IBIS into this camera. This allows the camera to shoot at much slower shutter speeds and still get a sharp shot, and it also makes the video a lot more stable.

It’s a fantastic tool for catching unpredictable moments, but it generates a sudden burst of data. While an ultra-expensive UHS-II card won’t clear the buffer any faster (because of the camera’s UHS-I slot limit), using a high-quality V30 card ensures that the buffer flushes exactly as fast as the camera’s internal hardware allows.

I use my Fujifilm X100VI constantly — it’s one of my most-used cameras. But when I saw the OM System OM-3 with its compact design and the option to pair it with the updated 17mm f/1.8 II, my curiosity got the better of me. Could the OM-3 replicate the way I use the X100VI when paired with the OM Systems 17mm f/1.

It's a beautiful camera. I'm very excited to spend the weekend testing it out using all the film simulations and also testing the video quality as well. I used to shoot a lot of film photography in middle school and high school and I love developing film. But now with the Fujifilm X100VI, there's a lot of film simulations on here.

The addition of 6-stop IBIS to the X100 series is transformative. Previous models struggled in low light with the f/2 limit - now you can shoot at 1/4 second handheld and get sharp results. For night street photography and dimly lit interiors, this is massive.

It's genuinely sharp lens that pairs really well with the 40 MP sensor. I was coming from a 26 MP on my previous Fuji setup, and I noticed the difference immediately. I can crop like 50% of an image and still have a fully useful high resolution file. Which, when you're shooting streets or travel photography, and can't always get close as you want, that's a really useful thing to have with you.

The Fujifilm is much smaller, “pocketable” if you have a purse or a jacket. And the Ricoh’s entire size is smaller than just the body of the Fuji, smaller than many phones (but still 2.5x thicker), the only truly pocketable of the three.

This camera is 40 megapixels, has really great quality, and it's just basically a point and shoot. What's up, y'all? We're currently in Costa Rica right now, and for Christmas, I got myself the Fujifilm X100V. This is a camera I've been wanting to have for the longest, probably since it came out. I wanted the Fujifilm 5, but I got the Fujifilm 6 because it came out about a year ago.

When it arrived I was instantly in love with the overall aesthetics and feel of the camera. It felt nostalgic, yet modern, but also so compact that it doesn't stand out as a "professional camera" which was a big plus for me.

The photos that this thing takes are insane. And it's not just because of the 40 megapixel sensor. It is because of that film look that is built in to the camera. The camera comes with 14 film simulations. And you can take that one step further and create your own versions of film like Portra 400, Kodochrome 64, that kind of vibe.

The only question is whether you can live with the constraints of the 23mm lens. Only you can answer that. Some people (including myself) like the fact it forces them to move around a subject (zoom with your feet) and think more about composition. And the integrated lens is obviously compact, and reasonably fast. But, the standard (APSC) focal length for portraiture is 56mm, to flatten perspective

Sure, there's a learning curve to this layout, and it can feel a bit cramped at times, but it's got everything you need except for a fully articulating screen, so consider me cautiously impressed. Well, actually, there was one thing that irked me. Tripod plates are tedious on this camera. When you put one on, you can no longer open the battery door, which is also where your SD card is kept.

It’s a great camera, if you know what it’s good for. I think a lot of people that buy the camera don’t understand what it’s all about, and then they get upset by its rather obvious limitations. If you want a camera for everyday, documentary, and travel purposes, it’s great. If you want a camera that gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of angle of view and so forth, then it’s not for you.

Overall, it seems like this X100VI is a little softer than my X100V. I don’t know if the X100V has some more baked-in sharpness or if it’s just a copy-to-copy variation. The contrast is a little higher on the X100V, though, so maybe that’s what I’m seeing. Again, I took multiple shots of this board with AF-S, so I don’t think it’s an autofocus issue. I consistently got the same results.

I've used it for nearly a year and yeah, I love a lot about it, but I am still selling it. And the reason isn't because it's bad. It's because of how it fits or doesn't fit my way of shooting. The X1006 or the X100VI as it's not known even though the previous model was an X1005.

The camera is utterly attractive. But that initial "feel good" goes away and leaves you with a camera that is not bad, but also not really excellent (AF being one weak spot). Then the limitations of a fixed lens start showing. It took me two X100V and three X100VI to finally get cured. Now very happy with the X-E5. And I guess that is the camera that many X100 folks are turning to.

For a camera built around speed and simplicity, 40 megapixels can feel excessive. The files are larger than they need to be. Storage fills up faster. The lens itself hasn’t changed, so you’re not suddenly unlocking medium format levels of detail. If anything, it can slow you down when this camera is supposed to remove friction.

The tighter grain and detail are nice, and the autofocus has some improvements. Still, the battery life is worse because of the IBIS system and JPG processing of 41MP images (if you use those effects), and the image quality of the X100V was probably already good enough.

In contrast, photographers who need reach or a backup body will find the single 35mm-equivalent view limiting. For those buyers, an interchangeable-lens Fujifilm body with two small primes solves more problems.

If I had to place the OM-3’s AF performance in context with my other cameras, I’d say it sits comfortably above the Fuji X100VI , above the X-T5 , and possibly even ahead of my Nikon Z6 III for human face and eye detect AF — though the Nikon still wins for pure subject-tracking accuracy.

The X100VI is a camera that's not about specs or what's better than other cameras. It's not a technically perfect solution for most photography and it's not for everyone. This is a camera that you either love or you don't. You have a place for it in your photography or you don't. It's not a camera that excels technically, but it does ask you to enjoy photography.
