The biggest difference I noticed compared to phone photos is how the camera handles faces and skin when the light isn’t perfect. With the G7X Mark II, the subject separation just looks more “camera-like,” especially when the background has lights, texture, or depth. Even when I didn’t nail the settings, the photos still looked more intentional.

Now, the G7X Mark II has always been extremely popular for two main reasons. The first one being the super small design that can literally fit in the palm of your hands, and you can easily fit this into a jean or jacket pocket. And the body itself is extremely durable and built like a tank.

So, I took it with me to Portugal last year to kind of test it out and I was pleasantly surprised by the images in comparison to my big giant DSLR because I didn't want to carry that around when I'm traveling around Europe. So, this has kind of become like my little DSLR in a bag. There are three main reasons why I brought this camera with me. So, I want to talk to you about that.

The Canon G7X gives you those nostalgic vintage style photos without trying too hard. It doesn't overprocess your image like other newer cameras do. Instead, everything looks softer, warmer, and a bit more natural to the photos. Plus, this camera lens has a surprisingly far reach for a compact camera lens.

I really do like that. And then we have our NB13 battery in its little case. Also a lot smaller than I was expecting. So tiny. All right. And then our battery pack. So I have a Canon DSLR, the T2i, and so I have that those batteries. And those batteries are huge. And so is the battery charger. So like coming to this, it's so tiny. They're like mini. I love it. All right.

So whether you know you're going out on a casual day, you're going vlogging, you're going around the city, I don't know what you do, but wherever you're going, this camera is great and you can take it with you. And as somebody said once, the best camera is the one that you've got on you at the crucial moment. Basically, it's small and you can take it wherever. And yeah, that's it really.

Compared to entry-level mirrorless cameras, the G7 X Mark II sacrifices image quality and versatility for unmatched portability. If you can accept the fixed lens and smaller sensor, you gain a camera that actually fits in your pocket rather than requiring a dedicated bag. For photographers seeking best cameras under 700$ , the used G7 X Mark II market offers compelling options worth considering.

All to say, this is really great as a beginner camera, but it is a bit dated. Before this one, I actually had the Sony A5100. That was great except I didn't really need the full capabilities of a mirrorless camera, which basically just meant that the lens was interchangeable. But I never got any other lenses for it. Long story short, I ended up getting the Sony ZV1.

I am very happy with the camera and produced pictures with it that I’m proud of. it fit in my pocket, and so was handy to carry around. I have a couple of Canon DSLRs and a variety of lenses for them. I don’t lug them around when I travel.

And then you don't have any battery indicator and it will not tell you how much battery is left. Then there here you can charge now with a USB cable which is quite nice. Okay, switch it on. One, two, three. Is fast, isn't it? uh pretty much the same like it was before. I suppose I didn't have the GX7 G7X first model. So, I really don't know. Uh I know there's a new time-lapse feature in here.
