Despite this though, the Sonos Era 100 SL is well worth it. You get the quality sound plus classic design of Sonos’s pricier speaker, for the reduced price of $189 / £169 / AU$289. That’s a pretty great bargain and ameliorates our biggest hesitation with its pricier predecessor. Yes, it's a shame that Android users miss out on a great feature but it's still the best home speaker you'll get for this price.Read H
The Sonos Era 100 and HomePod are compact enough for a bedroom or office, while the Sonos Five and Echo Studio are built to fill a larger living room without sounding strained.Read

The Era 100 is the speaker reviewers keep coming back to as the default recommendation under $300. It packs two angled tweeters and one midwoofer driven by three Class-D amplifiers, a meaningful step up from its predecessor, the Sonos One, and room-tuning (Trueplay) that adapts its output to your space. Review consensus is that it genuinely sounds like a bigger speaker than it is, with clean stereo separation from a single unit.Read E
Sonos just released the $250 Era 100 speaker, a replacement for the Sonos One that's been around since 2017. On the surface, the Era 100 feels similar to the One, but Sonos totally redesigned it on the inside. Those changes make the Era 100 a better-sounding and more flexible speaker than the One it replaces.Watch M
One of the biggest drawbacks of the Sonos Era 100 SL is that its USB-C port cannot be used for direct audio input from devices like laptops, phones, or tablets, meaning users who want a wired connection must purchase a separate Sonos adaptor – an inconvenience that mainly affects people who prefer wired audio setups or want to connect non-wireless devices easily.Read B
Budget-friendly with great audio quality, the Sonos Era 100 and 300 will be a welcome addition to your home sound system. However, the Era 100 is both perfect as a portable speaker, and in your home to listen to music while you go about your day. The Era 300 offers 360 surround sound and is compatible with Apple Spatial Audio.Watch W
In terms of overall performance at a competitive price, there are few better smart speakers than the Sonos Era 100. Released as a cheaper, slimmer alternative to the superb Era 300, the Era 100 keeps up with its bigger, more expensive sibling by delivering a host of streaming playback features within a robust, deeply musical speaker.Read A

The Sonos Era 100 is a successful evolution of the Sonos One. Sound quality has improved thanks to the dual‑tweeter architecture and enlarged woofer. Trueplay calibration on Android has been a long‑awaited feature. Connectivity is broader with Bluetooth and USB‑C, even if the paid adapters leave a bitter taste.Read 6

Considering we concluded that the Era 100’s provides a weightier performance across the frequency range, this certainly bodes well for the Era 100 SL. We also found the Era 100 sported an increase in bass over its predecessor that gave music genres such as R&B, Hip Hop and Pop more impact and excitement too.Read A

The Sonos Era 100 and 300 are a worthy step forward for Sonos. This is something new: with Bluetooth, surround audio, Ethernet, and an auxiliary input on a smaller speaker. When it comes down to it, they have perfected the core product. The improved soundstage makes the Era 100 a worthy successor to the Sonos One, but the Era 300 has everything the 100 has, plus Atmos and other tricks up its sleeveWatch K

In testing the Sonos Era 100 for the last year I've been impressed by the updates that were made to the speaker to improve listening quality and some of the feature upgrades. The Era 100 SL is the opposite philosophy. It has no battery, no IP rating, no going outside. It's a small cylinder, 18 cm tall, 13 wide, 12 deep, with almost 360° of acoustic grill. Controls are capacitive touch on top, including Sonos's excellent volume slider, one USB-C port on the back, one Bluetooth button. That's it. Both speakers feel premium in the hand.Watch R

Each Era 100 has three Class D amplifiers, two angled tweeters, and one mid-woofer, giving you much better stereo and surround separation. The complete setup normally costs about $1,137, but Sonos currently lists the surround set at around $1,082. That's roughly $383 more than the Beam Ultra alone. Sound . Balanced sound with a touch of warmth. Lows are muted, lacking the required body and vibration, yet they’re punchy enough for rhythmic tracks. Mids are even, while vocals are clear and quite detailed. Highs are slightly lacking, which you can easily fix with the EQ. The speaker features an excellent, omnidirectional soundstage that reproduces stereo sound. Volume headroom is enough for a medium-sized room, though some distortion is noticeable at high volume. Sonos is back with new consumer speakers and the Play wireless unit is actually prettttttty solid, but for Dan, it's got on fatal flaw. The Era 100 SL on the other hand is probably one of the better deals in the Sonos ecosystem.Watch R
You can do a lot in the app, such as deactivating the touch controls for those with curious children, but for some users, the app can be frustrating to navigate. Alexa and Sonos Voice Control respond quickly and hands-free, and for the privacy-conscious, there’s an easily accessible switch on the back of the speaker that disconnects power to the mic. The main reason the Era 100 hasn’t achieved a top pick in this list is that it doesn't have smart home compatibility built in, like Matter or Thread.Read D
Sonos is back with two intriguing new speakers, but are they enough to win back trust after a rocky year?Watch T
It stops a little short of being a true master of it all, lacking a bit of low-end power at higher volumes compared with Sonos’s similar Era 100 plugged-in speaker, which is also one-third cheaper. And it is a bit large and heavy to go on hikes with, while not being quite loud enough for a booming Bluetooth party speaker. You can certainly get a better Bluetooth speaker for the money.Read G
Now the Era 100 is also best used with an iPhone… but you can still use an android device with it. Now sound quality wise, this speaker get louder than the HomePod and even at those higher volumes, this speaker still sounds balanced. It doesn’t get nasally like with the Bose. But this speaker doesn’t have as good instrument separation as the HomePod and its bass is a little lackingWatch H

Overall, the Era 100 does n't fit my needs. I know this speaker is n't really designed for anything other than listening to music.
