Compact, powerful and with nicely balanced audio, the Amazon Echo Studio (2025) balances price against sound quality brilliantly. Clean, balanced audio across all genres of music make this the Echo speaker to buy if you want the best audio, while better support for Alex+, plus integrated Thread and Zigbee support, and an ultrasound sensor make it great for smart home users.Read S
My initial impressions are that this actually looks really quite cool. It is very reminiscent of the Echo Sub. Very, very reminiscent of it, indeed.Watch T
Of all its smart speakers, Amazon ’s premium device, the Echo Studio, has gone the longest without an update. First released in 2019, the Echo Studio was designed to compete with the Sonos One, Apple HomePod, and Google Home Max. Since that time, the first two of those devices have been updated, and the latter has been discontinued.Read C

For now, it's safe to say that the new Echo Dot Max and 2nd Gen Echo Studio are both fantastic in sound performance and at doing what a smart speaker does best: answering questions, especially with Amazon's newest assistant, Alexa+ , included right out of the box. But they cost much more than the flagship Echo and Echo Dot used to.Read S
The Amazon Echo Studio slightly undercuts the Sonos 1 at 189 and is their most premium speaker to date. Following on from the Echo and the Echo Plus models, it's designed to combine um the Amazon voice assistant with highfidelity sound uh with the likes of Dolby Atmos and 3D sound builtin.Watch C
Also, some Alexa devices are specifically designed to go by the TV, notably the Echo Studio. The 2025 Echo Studio is even made to pair with Fire TV devices to create a home theater experience as an alternative to a soundbar . So slide your Echo by the TV if that’s where you think it will work best, and see how it treats you.Read G
Uh, this is actually a really good speaker as well in terms of sound, in terms of design quality, and uh, just processing power as well.Watch T
The 2025 Echo Studio is a more attractive, fully capable smart speaker that sounds even a bit better than the original Studio. With a more powerful processor for Alexa Plus, the ability to link up with your Fire TV system, and a lower price than the HomePod, the Echo Studio is a great successor for an Amazon household.Read L landpet landpet · 70.5K subscribers · Feb 2026
To summarize, both of these are really good, but I think the overall winner is the Echo Studio for two main reasons. Number one is it cost less and number two is the fact that it's a just a better smart speakerWatch E
The 2019 launch of the Echo Studio raised a few eyebrows. It was pushed more as an audiophile speaker, supporting high-resolution music as well as spatial audio, a relatively new format at the time. Alongside the launch of the Echo Studio, Amazon Music stepped up to provide that higher quality music.Read T
o, if you follow my channel, you know what a big fan I am of the Amazon Echo Studio smart speakers. In fact, I own three of the previous generation, but I finally got my hands on the latest and greatest model.Watch T
The new Echo Studio is the most premium Echo speaker in Amazon’s lineup, offering home-theatre buffs and audiophiles an Alexa-powered alternative to standard speakers. You concede some audio quality, sure, but it’s pretty compact, and the smarts you gain are decent enough.Read T
Inside the Amazon Echo Studio (2025) are a range of angled speakers for spatial audio: three 1.5-inch drivers and a 3.75-inch high excursion woofer. With this speaker layout, Amazon says that this combination can deliver full spatial audio.Read P
The second-generation Echo Studio is Amazon's smartest and clearest-sounding Alexa speaker yet, offering immersive spatial audio in a smaller, sleeker package, though its bass is noticeably tamer than the original.Read P

I recommend buying two of these and pairing them for stereo. I’ve had two for years (since before the pandemic) and they still work perfectly. I use them everyday.Read M

While it's a notch below the Sonos One in terms of sound quality, it's one of the best Alexa devices for audiophiles that lets you use Alexa calling. It's designed to support Amazon HD Unlimited, Amazon's 3D audio platform, and even has a bass aperture to ensure the fullest possible sound.Read T
That cylindrical design has morphed into a more compact spherical finish, but as a result the audio isn't quite as impressive. Testing the Echo Studio sound vs similar Sonos speakers, I'd have to go Sonos. Although, hip hop sounds fantastic and vocals also come through clear enough.Watch E
The new Echo Studio is a comprehensive overhaul that makes Alexa+ the star of the show, but it offers inconsistent sound quality depending on your content.Read T
If you want room-filling audio, or have never sampled the delights of the first generation Echo Studio, this newer model will make for a great upgrade to your older hardware. It's faster, more high-fidelity than any other speaker in Amazon's current lineup, and the added home theater options make it a pretty good all-rounder. It is not, however, the best of the best overall, and fundamentally, most audiophiles will find too many trade-offs in the Echo Studio. Especially if you owned and loved one of the first generation models, you're likely better off heading to your local trade-in store and shopping for a pre-loved Echo Studio first gen.Watch T
The Echo Studio is an easy choice for Alexa users wanting a better quality speaker with more substance, but I’d wait for a discount before buying.Read C
This is definitely the best sounding Echo ever, but should you buy it? Hello tech friends, welcome back. If you're new here, my name is Craig. I love new tech and seeing what it can do for us. If that sounds like something you're into, stick around. This is week 45 of my 2019 Echo series.Watch A

From an purely audio perspective, I would hands down choose the older Echo Studio versus the new one. Even though the new one sounds pretty good. In fact, it sounds a lot better than most of their Echo speakers. But if you're looking for a smaller size, if you're looking for a Star Wars kind of look, it does kind of look like the Death StarWatch A

I'm so incredibly disappointed on the new Echo Studio. I had an Eco and I upgraded to the new Studio and wow I'm so disappointed. I like to listen to white noise sometimes to fall to sleep. The Echo use to be perfect on volume number two and the new Echo Studio when I set it to volume number two I can't even hear the white noise.View post E
My best advice is to wait until all of the new advanced AI and Alexa Plus features are signed, sealed, and delivered, and you can wait on picking up the new Echo Studio. in my opinion. Plus, given the price, it's about $220 US or $2.99 Canadian. It's not a small investment for very little reward at this pointWatch H
But for a supposed ‘upgrade’, you’re paying more for a speaker that sounds worse than the one it replaced.Read C
And finally, number one, the sound quality isn't as revolutionary as advertised. While the Echo Studio does offer decent audio, many audio files argue that it doesn't live up to the hype of highfidelity sound. You might find better audio quality in other speakers at a similar price point. So, there you have it. Six reasons to consider before buying the Amazon Echo Studio.Watch E
