I think the design of the phone is very good. Here you get to see glass back, metal frame. IP rating is not the best you can get. IP67 is available here. But still the overall in- hand feel of the phone was very premium. Now here you also get to see stereo speakers. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor. So you will not have any major complaints here.

So, if we look at the back here and this phone, honestly, I thought it looked kind of cheap on pictures, but when holding it and now seeing it in hand, it's actually quite nice. So, we have a glass back here. I also thought in the pictures that this was like a plasticky look, but actually in person, that's like a metal ring around the camera. So, it's actually quite nice there.

PERFORMANCE: Overall the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G was very good. Its quickness, battery life, and camera quality will satisfy all but the most discerning users. Ease of use on the Galaxy A56 5G was excellent. The touchscreen's use of menus, web browser, camera, buttons, and unlocking the phone were top notch.

This is Kevin here and this is the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G. Now, this device was launched in March of 2025. So, at this point, the phone is nearly a year old, and I'm definitely expecting that pretty shortly, we will be getting the successor to this device, which I'd assume is called the Galaxy A27 5G.

Samsung’s Galaxy A56 5G is the kind of phone you pick up expecting “mid-range” and then immediately second-guess yourself. With its glass-and-aluminium build, slim silhouette, and feather-light feel, this device delivers a premium experience before you even switch it on.

This device actually feels premium in the hand. That said, the back on this smartphone is a bit of a fingerprints magnet. So, if you're not rocking a case, get ready to wipe it down a few times a day. And this year, Samsung still retains the IP67 water and dust resistance rating. Nothing different. So, you can dunk this up to 1 m for 30 minutes and it still be fine.

I'm very pleased with its build quality and the added bonus is that the A56 is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance. That said, one design aspect that does bother me is the bottom of the device. As you can see, symmetry is completely absent here. One of the standout features of the Galaxy A56 is its display.

And of course, I have lots of interesting features that are disabled by default and that make your new phone feel and be 10 times better. But anyways, that being said and without further ado, let's begin with the first thing you should always do when you get a new Samsung phone, which in this case is to improve the speed of the fingerprint recognition method.

Oo I like this. I like how the sides here are made out of aluminum and it is really reminiscent of the Galaxy A36. Again, very similar in size, but when you take a look at the sides right here, if you guys want to see a comparison, let me know. They look similar at a glance, but you really have to feel uh that this one is made out of aluminum versus like the plastic build on the A36.

Samsung Galaxy A56 10 months later. And I know you're probably thinking, well, the A57 is out, but I've had this since July and that's when it kind of released here in the US. So, for me to go pick up the A57, but dismiss this, didn't really feel right because I still want to talk about how this phone is relevant and still really good even though it's successor is out on the market.

Um, you are getting a 6.7 in Super AMOLED display with um a 120 Hz refresh rate. uh coming also with a solid processor depending on your region. Um you'll also get up to 12 gigs of RAM and up to 256 gigs of storage. Um this out of the box runs on 1 UI 7 based on Android 15.

As for ingress protection, the A56 again comes with an IP67 rating. That's good against immersion in water, but it's a lower rating than what some competitors are offering. Now, as I mentioned, the screen is slightly larger than last year at 6.7 in. It's an OLED with a 1080p resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection, just like on the back.

This phone has got a lot of hate for its performance and the new Exynus 1580 chipset isn't the fastest in this segment, but it delivers solid everyday performance. Apps load quickly, multitasking is smooth, and even games like BGMI and Call of Duty run at stable frame rates. Just don't expect flagship level gaming. The Galaxy A56 didn't age dramatically. It didn't fall apart. It didn't become more irrelevant. I'd like to say it's matured. It feels less like a hype device and more like a smart purchase for a lot of people to buy today, especially considering the competition. It has good water resistance. It does have a fingerprint sensor in your screen. It has a really nice camera. It can record 4K video. It really even feels pretty premium in the hand whenever I'm using it. So, mid-range phones, they are pretty good nowadays. But, if you buy a mid-range phone like this, you're going to be missing a key thing. You're going to miss a zoom lens, a good camera zoom.

However, in terms of PWM dimming, it disappoints as its frequency is very low by today's standards. Also, in terms of bezels, this phone feels quite outdated as even cheaper phones these days have thinner and symmetrical bezels. So, while the display quality is good, it is far from class leading. This phone has stereo speakers and they sound quite good. Here this audio sample.

All right. So, one thing to note is the lack of expandable storage on the Galaxy A56. That's right. Samsung did away with the expandable storage that was provided with the A55. Now, why did they go down this route? I genuinely have no idea, but it is important to note because it may be a dealbreaker for some. Now, the screen here is probably where the illusion of a flagship device wears off.

However, these Samsung A56 Bluetooth problems are real, well-documented, and recurring for a meaningful number of owners. They depend heavily on which software version you’re running, which specific accessory you’re pairing, and sometimes your region or carrier variant. If your Bluetooth has been rock solid so far, consider this a practical reference to bookmark in case something goes wrong later.

Complaint number one, and this is a big one, photos got softer after the updates. This is by far the most reported issue. People who loved the 50 megapixel main camera at launch started noticing that after One UI 8 update and later security patches, every photo started looking soft with fine details just going away. Fabrics, distant buildings, they turn into smudges.
