Wow, this phone really feels Leica, doesn't it? On the frame, there's also an anti-slip texture on both the left and right sides. On the camera module, we can see that it can be rotated like a lens. This mechanism feels very tactile. Its function is to allow you to change the lens. Or we can change it to other functions. For example, for exposure, bokeh simulation, even to switch Leica Lux.

I really love the 17 Ultra (display, performance, image quality), but I've had bad luck with the camera twice now: The first unit had a focus problem where images became blurry at 3.2x zoom, so I exchanged it. The second one developed a rattle. I know OIS causes a slight rattle by design, but in my case it kept getting stronger and more mechanical over time. I returned that one too.

Something I noticed is that when you're shooting in 50 megapixel mode, the phone seem to always want to overexpose my images compared to when I'm in 12.

I think here is a bit overblown there on the Xiaomi, but you be the judge. 6x here and 4.3x here. So, which one is doing better there? And of course we have this 10x um optical sensor on the OPPO and 8.6x on the Xiaomi here which a digital crop 2x on the optical. Of course we can also go to 10x that we reach now. To be fair, the standard 17 Ultra doesn't really have any fatal flaws. Most of the serious complaints actually come from the Leica edition. I I need to stress this again. If your focus control ring feels loose, then it's simply a loose ring. That comes down to manufacturing tolerances.

But in the end, I'm happy with the overall photo quality of the 17 Ultra.
