The Google Pixel 9a offers exceptional value, flagship-grade photography, and clean Android software. However, like any newly released smartphone, users occasionally encounter technical hiccups. Whether you are dealing with aggressive battery drain, dropped Wi-Fi connections, or a fingerprint scanner that refuses to cooperate, most Pixel 9a problems are software-based and easy to resolve at home.Read M
The 9a is a lot brighter than last year's 8A and so definitively outclasses the iPhone if you go outdoors, you know, if you're into that. Plus, Google's managed to get a 120 Hz refresh rate onto here. Actually, let me rephrase. Apple hasn't managed to get a 120 Hz refresh rate onto here. That feels like the bigger headline. So, almost everything feels quite a bit smoother over at team Google. AlthWatch N
The Google Pixel 8a has been my favourite mid-range phone since it was released and based on this first look, the Pixel 9a could well step neatly in to claim that crown. I miss the camera bar already, but that feels like a small issue when compared with how much potential the Pixel 9a has elsewhere.Read C
I've been testing it for about a week and yeah, it's pretty fantastic, but not without its faults. Sometimes it's the simple things in life that are the best. And I think Google's Pixel A series really embraces that idea. Cheap phones like the Pixel 9a have a strange role in 2025.Watch B
None of these justify upgrading from last year’s Pixel 9a, but they solidify the 10a as the default budget pick for first-time Pixel buyers or anyone coming from a device that’s on its last legs.Read S
I picked up the Nothing Phone 3a. If only I'd known that I was going to come in this morning and be greeted by the Pixel 9a, an option that nails all of those requirements and comes with 7 years of security updates. Now, uh, let's start with the pink one, shall we? Oh, sorry. Excuse me. PE pivo rose piv.Watch F
For those looking to stay (or join) the Pixel family, there’s a lot to like about the Pixel 9a, especially as Google is sweetening the package with a mix of trade-ins and bundled subscriptions.Read Z
So, overall, pretty nice. It looks like it almost has zero camera bump, but it does have a little bit of a camera bump. So, if I set it down, it does not seem to rock, though, as I push left and right on it. So, that's really nice to see. And as far as the overall design, it's 100% recycled aluminum as far as the housing or aluminum depending on where you're from.Watch W
The only downside is the noticeably thicker bezels, however this is the only thing that points to the 9a’s mid-range price tag—the rest of the phone looks and feels surprisingly premium.Read F
Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, I am giving the Pixel 9a, I already said this, a major major go.Watch A
It’s easy to point at the headline RAM figures between the Pixel 9a and the Pixel 10 and determine that the Pixel 10 has the advantage. Unfortunately, that doesn’t tell the whole story.Read T
I really like it actually. It's really sleek. Also noticing right away that camera bump is almost non-existent. It's almost flush to the back of the phone, so you don't see that very often. Anyways, I'm going to boot this up for the first time. While it turns on, let's take a closer look at this hardware.Watch R r/Smartphones reddit.com
It's a fantastic mid-range device at a solid price that you can usually find on sale, but it truly depends on what you're looking for in a smartphone.Read M
The Pixel 9a has something I've been dreaming about for years, or at least bringing back, and that's a flatback. I mean, no more awkward rocking on a desk when you tap the screen. It just lies there peacefully like a chilled out yoga master. The Pixel 9, on the other hand, may not wobble, but it does leave a gap between the phone and table. But the 9A, man, it just sits. And it looks clean, too.Watch R r/pixel_phones u/cigarboxfrackle · owner

The Google Pixel 9a might be closer to its flagship phone brethren than any A series phone before it. And even though at first glance it may not look it, that starts with its design. Now, it has the same rounded corners, the same flat edges that are also matte aluminum and make it comfortable to hold, and even the exact same screen size as the more expensive Pixel 9.Watch P
Google's Pixel 9a defies its age to become a smarter buy than the Pixel 10a at sweet new discountRead S
So, I'm talking about the base Pixel 10, of course, but I'm even including the much cheaper plasticbacked Pixel 9a in this conversation cuz both of these phones feel way nicer in the hand compared to the 10 Pro and Pro XL. Why, I hear you ask? Well, it's purely down to these glossy side rails.Watch F Facebook Caty Malo · owner
The Pixel camera is just so reliable regardless of the model. The photos are great.Read S
I really, really like it. Now, is it perfect? No. But I do genuinely think that it's one of the more enticing mid-range options available right now.Watch 9
For the first time, the Pixel 9a feels like a device that stands on its own two feet, which is a huge differentiator from past A series devices where it felt more like a slight variant of the mainline Pixels. This year, the Pixel 9a is truly something special as it gets the basics done right. It now has its own visual identity for better or for worse.Watch P
Honestly, I'm really impressed with what we're seeing from the Pixel.Watch M
Now, I've only had this for 24 hours, but I've been doing this for long enough now, and I've used and tested enough phones to make pretty accurate judgments quite quickly, and this is just utterly brilliant.Watch J
I really, really like this phone. No suspense, no slow burn. I'm genuinely impressed by this budget friendly device. Is it flawless? Not quite. But as far as mid-range smartphones go, and much like its predecessors, this one is punching way above its weight. And you may be wondering if this is the right phone for you. Well, I'm Jason. This is JSL Review.Watch T
And if you want that smooth, creamy, buttery display, definitely enable this feature. It is going to use a little bit more battery life. But hey, we put it into dark mode, so I guess they're kind of canceling each other out, right? Next, we're going to scroll back up to where it says screen timeout.Watch M
And after using the Google Pixel 9a for a few weeks, I can't stop thinking about how good this phone is.Watch T
And for that price tag, we actually have some really, really decent stuff in here. First and foremost, for the processor, we have the Google Tensor G4 inside this device. So, we have the Pixel 9's flagship processor inside this device. We also have the biggest battery in a Pixel device to date at 5100 milliamps. We also have 23 watt wired charging. We have 8 watt wireless charging.Watch T
I would say this is essentially the best deal you can get in phones right now, this has insane stuff inside of it for that price tag.Watch K
This is the Google Pixel 9A and value per dollar, this is one of the most compelling phones out there right now.Watch T
Honestly though, I'd give the edge to the 9A mainly because of its higher peak brightness when outdoors. Really, the only giveaway that the 9A isn't a flagship is the slightly thicker bezels you get. And even then, I couldn't care less when the screen itself looks this good. In fact, I'd argue that the 9a looks more premium at a glance.Watch G
If you’re looking to get a Pixel phone in 2026, then there’s hardly a better value phone than the Pixel 9a, especially at the current discounted price. It seems to have everything going for it. Great processor, impressive performance, decent cameras, and battery life that can even put the Pixel 10 Pro to shame. But no phone is perfect, anWatch M
And yeah, I love this little device. It's definitely really useful. Not quite as nice screen as the the Pixel 9a, though. Notion calendar is my calendar of choice. I just love how it syncs between my Notion as well as all my different devices. But today's not too busy. I do have a couple of events later, which I'm super excited about. But yeah, while I'm brushing my teeth or doing any tedious taskWatch A
So today I'm going to be reviewing a phone for the bargain hunters because I really believe in 2026 one of the best bargains you're going to be able to find it's going to be on the Google Pixel 9a. So the question is is it worth buying and is it right for you? Well, you're going to find out in this full review.Watch T
In my opinion and for my recommendation for most people, it would be to go for adaptive charging. Now, what that's going to do is it's essentially going to keep track of your charging habits. So, let's say you typically plug in your phone uh at 11:00 p.m. at night, it's first going to charge from zero up to 80%. However, then wait with the remaining 20% till closer to when you typically wake up anWatch S
The display panel is bright and colorful. Good outdoor visibility and 120 Hz refresh rate make a smooth scrolling for everyday for watching video, YouTube, Netflix or social media. The screen is still feel premium even in 2026. But the panel chin and bezel are slightly bigger compared to other smartphone.Watch C
And honestly, in my expert opinion, it's probably one of the best value phones of the year without a doubt. The only competition I can really think of in the North American market are phones like the Nothing 3a. And the 9A easily beats the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE like in so many ways. So, let's start this review by talking about all the things that I love about this beast of a phone. But, let's starWatch L
But then there's an extra layer that is just rolling out to not only the 9A, but to other Pixel and other Android devices with a Gemini Advanced subscription that lets you share your entire screen with Gemini or even the live input from your camera.Watch E
After 3 months, I've been pleasantly shocked how good the Pixel 9A is.Watch E
Overall, especially for the price, the design and build quality are just fantastic.Watch E
Now that I've lived with it for months, I can confirm it's one of the most reliable mid-tier smartphones on the market. But like any device, it has its strengths and a few minor trade-offs. Let's break it down. Starting with design, the Pixel 9a stays true to Google's minimalist style. The phone sports an aluminum frame with a sturdy plastic back that feels comfortable and grippy in hand.Watch U
It actually feels pretty nice in the hand. But let's see how it feels in the phone or how rather how the phone feels in the case. So it goes in really easy. You can see how nicely the uh the yellow portion frames the camera bump. And uh I do like that it's kind of, you know, the the case is kind of raised around the camera bump.Watch V
Overall, it's great actually. Now, here's what surprised me. Night mode. I thought it wouldn't work well in these price range, but wow, even in dim lighting or night shots, the photos came out perfect, bright and detailed. It takes a second or two maybe to process, but the results are worth it. It's amazing for videos. It's super smooth, colors look real, and the mic picks up sound clearly.Watch

The Pixel UI absolutely sucks. Everything else is good, especially battery but sadly it's not enough to make up for it. The UI legit feels like something from 2015. This is a very bad look for Google and I will not be buying another phone from them.Read A
First off, this is probably the best mid-range phone that most people can buy. And of course, there are a few compromises here and there, but for the most part, this is probably the best A series phone that I've used. And let me start with one of the biggest upgrades this year, cuz Google have given the Pixel 9a the biggest battery in any Pixel ever.Watch I Instagram Article
However, beneath the surface lies a less-discussed issue—thermal management flaws. While the Pixel 9a delivers smooth everyday performance, prolonged usage, gaming, and multitasking can reveal heating problems that affect both….Read G
The display's bezels are noticeably thicker than the more expensive Pixels, betraying the phone's mid-range nature, but otherwise it looks good. The screen is plenty sharp here. Swiping and scrolling are quite smooth, too, thanks to the 120 Hz refresh rate and is able to dial down to a minimum of 60 Hz when the screen is idling to save energy. For audio, the Pixel 9a has a pair of stereo speakers.Watch R r/GooglePixel u/FroggyRibbits · owner
Well that is just YOUR 9A. I would try a factory reset because my 9A has none of these issues. I'm sorry you're experiencing all these issues, that is so not cool with a new phone.Read G
The sound quality is different though, with the new model having richer bass, but the 9a sounding a bit more clear overall. Let's have a listen to compare. >> The interface of these two phones is the same, Android 16 as Google intended, using the new Material 3 expressive design with its dynamic animations. And Google is once again promising 7 years of software updates.Watch T
But I do miss that old finger shelf, which was particularly handy when using the Pixel phones onehanded. Obviously, you don't get that at all anymore. And besides the corners, there's pretty much no curves on the Pixel 9 at all. Those edges have been flattened right off, presumably in a bid to make it look more iPhone.Watch T
So, should you actually go ahead and spunk out the best part of a grand on Google's Pixel 10 or say bollocks to that noise and save yourself a few hundred pund with this mid-range option instead? Well, I've used both of them as my full-time smartphone now. So, here's a Pixel 10 versus Pixel 9a video type situation.Watch S
I mean, I definitely hated them for the first 3 days of using the phone. But after that, your brain kind of adjusts. Where is initially these are hard to ignore. But hey, the best part about this design is there's no camera bump. Like literally nothing, which is refreshing in an age of big ass camera bumps. I mean, the phone literally lies flat completely on the table. No wobble.Watch M
It has to be the right lighting situations, but it works. It is kind of a toss-up for me here on which ones I like more. I feel like portrait mode goes to the 9a.Watch S
You are getting 4K 60 on the back, but only 4K 30 on the front. And I feel like that is a little bit of a downside. I wish we would be able to have 4K 60 on the front and the back, even 8K on the back. Unfortunately, with this type of device, we don't really get that type of capability. So, that is a little bit of a downside here.Watch A
But despite that, it makes some seriously strange compromises, and we just have to talk about it. Hey guys, I'm Ryan Thomas, and I can't lie, last year's Pixel 8a just felt like a toy from the moment I picked it up. And though the 9A still has a plastic back, it feels far nicer. It's a massive step up. It feels denser, more robust.Watch G

Now, first things first, uh, one thing I really like about the device is actually in terms of the build. It's made very, very well. It feels fantastic. It's got this really nice smooth matte materials at the back that doesn't capture any fingerprints whatsoever. The buttons here are a little bit tight and the sound is actually a bit odd. Like, just listen to that. But overall, I think it looks greWatch J
From the surprisingly powerful camera and all of the phone's AI goodness to the occasional performance hiccup and questionable design decisions, whether you're looking to save some cash or simply curious about what a quote unquote budget Pixel can really do, I'm going to break down both the pros and cons for this device, all in an effort to help you decide if the Pixel 9a is the right phone for you.Watch P
You do get less RAM compared to other Pixel phones, but you might not notice that unless you use lots and lots of apps at the same time in day-to-day use. I have not seen an issue yet. Again, odds are you won't be admiring the Tensor G4 inside. What you need to know is what you can do with it.Watch I
The bezels of this phone are massive. Imagine if it got the same bezels of the 9 Pro. It would have looked so much better, but after some time, I got used to it. I recommend not to look at any other phone with thin bezels to make it easier for yourself. Moving to the build quality, the display is covered with Gorilla Glass 3, so the drop protection is not great.Watch T
Where you might notice some limitations is with heavier gaming or intensive photo or video editing. It's not slow, of course, by any means, but it is not built for hardcore performance like some of the Snapdragon flagships. All in all, though, for the activities that I do, I play Call of Duty Mobile. Um, I play PUBG sometimes, and this totally runs it 100% fine.Watch M
This is the Pixel 9a and today we're talking all about the cameras. Google's budget phones are known for being very good in this department, but is that still true in 2025? I've been testing it for days now, photos, videos, portraits, low light. Here's everything you really need to know before buying this phone.Watch F
The one thing that Google has continued even in 2025 is the chunky bezels that you see on the phone. Yes, the 8a had it. The 9a also has it. And I don't know why Google is doing that. Maybe there's some kind of a strategy around it, but I personally do not like these fat bezels on my display. Not that it kills your content viewing experience.Watch A
The biggest change on this phone is the absence of a visor that houses the camera. We have a flat camera cutout that blends with the back of the phone. This phone sits comfortably on the table without any wobbles. Personally, I'm okay with the choice of taking the visor off.Watch L
The phone felt a bit choppy. Well, it actually turns out that Google disables 120 Hz by default. So, you actually have to go into the settings and enable it. Which, thinking about it, actually isn't the worst idea cuz if I was to give this phone to my grandmother, she wouldn't really care if it was 120 Hz. She would much rather have slightly better battery life. But if you're someone like me thatWatch E
>> With the release of the Google Pixel 10A that I reviewed a few weeks ago, I think this one-year review of the Google Pixel 9A is more significant than ever. This was an amazing value in 2025, and now you can even find it even cheaper, and it will be supported by Google until 2032.Watch A
I like its design and it gives the phone magnetic wireless charging and seems to largely protect the phone well enough. However, when I take the phone out of the case, it's left with some visible marks, particularly where the magnet is within the case. These marks seem to be permanently there now. I've tried cleaning them off, but they are still faintly visible at certain angles.Watch T
The only thing I would know that people would complain about the Pixel 9a happens to be the bezels.Watch T
If you are a power user who focuses on playing graphics-intensive games and high benchmark scores, then this is obviously not the phone for you. However, if you're someone like me who prefers a straightforward and refined software experience, then it's in this case where the Pixel 9A really manages to shine.Watch A
The only complaint I have of the display is the waste of space around the edges. Otherwise, the colors are very nice and the brightness is very nice.Watch

Now, in comparison, the problem with the Pixel 9a is that it uses plastic on the rear. Of course, you get a metal frame, but plastic in 2025, uh, Google could have used better material. Battery life on the Pixel 9a is promised at over 30 hours, which is a bump from the Pixel 8a and Pixel 9's 24 hours or more. In practice, I believe it. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pixel 9A in 2026. Let's go ahead and see how this phone has been aging. And um this is still one of my favorite, you know, kind of mid-range phones to recommend if you're not completely tied to you know, Samsung, Apple. This is a really good phone and you can find these phones on eBay, Amazon around 350 bucks in the usual refurbished marketplace.Watch T
Pixel 9a is one of the only midrange phones right now that is still rather compact. The S25, on the other hand, is the most popular compact Android flagship phone. It’s smaller than the Pixel 9a and is obviously more expensive. There are a few reasons for that—for example, it has a better processor and better camera sensors.Watch G
