I tested a lot of phones this year from the Galaxy S25 Ultra to the Pixel 10 Pro XL and none of them have excited me as much as the Find X9 Pro. With most reviews, you find bits that you like and then you find bits that you don't like and you talk about where things could be improved, but with the Find X9 Pro, I can't find anything that I don't like about this. The phone looks great.

This bad boy is tougher than a Greg's steak bake at midnight. Now, we're talking IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust, water, pressure jets, high temperature sprays. OPPO really went all in. Basically saying, whatever you throw at it, it's got this. And honestly, I believe them. 8.3 mm thin and 224 g. It nails that perfect balance. It feels solid, premium, but still comfortable enough to hold all day.

It might win you over with its Snapdragon chipset and possibly its lower price, but the Find looks like the go-to option for a camera enthusiast.

I really like global search on Color OS. I think it has the best global search out of any Android skin out there. And I really like the way it looks. It kind of looks like the old iOS, not the current one, which was clean and it's nice, but it's on Android, which means that you can do a lot more stuff than iOS and you don't feel as restrained. I really missed that.

So, right out of the box, you can see that Oppo has gone for that sort of premium look with clean lines and a nice balanced aesthetic for the Find X9 Pro. It's just 8.25 mm thick, and while it's a big phone at 6.78 in, it really does sit comfortably in the hand, and the screen is definitely very roomy.

The X9 Pro looks and feels grown-up. Flat display with super thin uniform bezels, a tiny camera island at the front. Nothing showy or intrusive like a dynamic island for instance. In fact, I think I'm allowed to say this right off the bat, I think a lot of iPhone users will feel at home here.

This might be your next or even your first Android smartphone because this year OPPO is getting very close to pleasing both sides of the neverending iOS versus Android war. This is the Oppo Find X9 Pro and after using the whole OPPO lineup since the X3, including last year's X8, which was pretty damn good. I had some very high expectations. Some were exceeded, others not quite.

I had the same feelings about the phone; the audio and the slow camera were the points that made me return it. I didn't wait until four months. Now I'm using the Vivo X300 Pro. The audio is a little better, but it doesn't make a difference. Fewer bugs with social media; they work well, I haven't had to restart the apps. The haptic vibration is better on the Oppo.

Although, I have to confess that there's one thing that irks me and, you know, sort of kicks my OCD, is the fact that the periscope camera is not symmetrically aligned within the camera ring itself. Now, regardless, in totality, the in-hand feel is fantastic. The ergonomic is actually very good, too. And, there's not too much of a table wobble, either. You know, Oppo's done a really good job.

Vivo's HDR algorithm is also better because highlights are better preserved and the shadow noise is lower. Now Oppo has definitely improved a lot with updates, but you can see that you know, in the highlight portion of the image it still tends to brighten a little too much and can sometimes overexpose a little bit more than Vivo does, which is very well under control.

So when we tested the display using our colorimeter, this display can reach a maximum of around 1270 nits in auto brightness mode. Quite good, I'd say, though not the best as I've personally tested some that are just at a higher display brightness. Now I think the periscope on the X9 Pro is perfectly fine in good conditions. You can get some great shots with it, even if you zoom past its native zoom level. But I do feel like it falls short in details at moments where the lighting is less than optimal. More noise is introduced and just the general image isn't that great.

Build quality wise, yep, it's a nice phone. I got my phone case before the phone arrived and I was smiling looking at how oversized the camera module is. And they're only going to get bigger. The camera module by the way includes a left microphone. So, if you are recording a video and talking, you may notice that your voice is skewed a bit for right channel.

The biggest problem with the Oppo Find X9 Pro is when you think it's super powerful, a few little quirks pop up and leave you speechless. I've been using it for a month as my main camera first phone. And honestly, the thing I want to talk about isn't its 200 megapixel camera. It's these three temperamental issues. Watermark conflicts, a gallery preview bug, and photos turning blurry after editing.

But I also feel its a bit heavy to hold for long, and the price may not be pocket friendly.

The X9 Pro is already too big and too expensive because it's almost 6.8 inches.
