Today I have two products for the Pimax Crystal / Crystal Light that have massively improved comfort for me! Both are from Studioform VRWARE and I can tell you: the hype is real! First of all their new 14m face pads that will finally allow you to wear lens inserts! And then the Studioform Creative Apache Strap.it is incredibly how much it has improved my comfort! But see for yourself!

We got a really good Pimax Crystal Light Black Friday Deal! The headset always had been the best bang for your high-end PCVR buck, but now they are shaving off another 70$! Now is the best time to get the headset. But is it still worth it end of 2025? I am checking that out in MSFS for you!

The Pimax Crystal light could prove to be the best kit for sim racing, as it ditches some of the features of the more expensive variants, but still offers 2880 x 2880 pixels per eye and the same performance as more expansive headsets.

The colors were just so vibrant. The scenes were just super bright and the colors just popped. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you the story. When the lens cracked on my beloved Pimex 8KX, I immediately pre-ordered the Pimex Super, but it's going to be a while before that headset arrives. And while I was waiting, the lovely people at Pinemck sent me over the crystal light to try.

I love the physics. It sounds fantastic. It's got some of the amazing vehicles in this. I absolutely love some of the super saloons from the 90s as well. And I had a go in VR on the Pinemax Super and it was a janky mess. And then Mac said to me, well, it's the same for me. Unfortunately, I just can't get it working well on the Pimex Super. This game is unfortunately a DX9 game, so DirectX9.

The Pimax Crystal Light has a lot to offer with its QLED miniLEDD panels, its display port connectivity for low latency, and let's not forget it's packing almost twice as many pixels as the Quest 3 with a 2880x 2880 resolution. Before we get started, 2880x 280 per eye is a lot of pixels.

Gor Don White the difference between the 8kx and Crystal Light is night and day for clarity but you trade off the wide fov. Personally if you have the money the wide fov Super would be my choice. Once I got used to the fov of the Crystal Light the clarity and aspheric lenses made up for it. I also got prescription lenses which I didn't have in the 8kx.

So, I'm going to give first place to the OLED with the QLED coming in very close in second with LCDs last. Next comparison is resolution. The clear winner is Pimax with 2880x280 pixels per eye. It's massive. >> The Quest 3 is in second with 2064 by 2208. And the PSVR2 bringing up the rear with 2000 by 20040. >> I've been through a lot.

However, interestingly, the sweet spot in my opinion and the warping profile is better in the Dream Air SE. It is almost edge-to-edge compared to the Crystal Light, which does have some warping, and the sweet spot, while very good, well, it's not as good as the Dream Air SE.

Well, to be honest, for the price, not many at all. The only thing that I will mention again, even though I'm glad to say it has hopefully been sold by now because Pimax quality control has got a lot better over the years, but when the Crystal Light was first released, I did warn people there was an issue with the lenses and some of them were badly warped.

Pimex, let me say in advance, the Crystal Light isn't perfect, but easily good enough for me to recommend it since the image it generates is incredibly crisp. And as a consequence, the headset perfectly fills out a certain niche. There are some limitations, though, and it's not for everyone.

My box also came with two Pimax controllers, which are not good. You don't really have a super tight grip on them like the Quest 3 controllers or the Valve Knuckles. It often feels as if the controllers kind of slip out of your hands, or maybe I just have smooth hands. I don't know. The tracking of the controllers themselves are also not really good.

The Crystal Light would make a really good drop-in replacement for something like a Reverb G2 or even an Index if you get the lighthouse face plate. Overall build quality of the hardware is decent. It's put together well and feels solid enough, but I would not call it ultra premium.

Inside-out tracking can be inconsistent, the stock audio is weak unless upgraded, and the headset may require comfort mods or lighthouse tracking to become a true daily driver.
