Hi All, loving my VIOFO A229 Pro Duo very much. If product developers are reading (probably not) would it be possible to put the rear camera connector onto the GPS unit that’s stuck onto the windscreen in future models? That way, I can still slide the front camera off of the mount without having to disconnect the rear camera USB from it.View post A
This time we're taking a look at the BOF A229 Pro, which has some of the highest quality I have seen on a dash cam on the channel. Yet, it features two Sony Starvis 2 sensors, which is the newest image sensor that Sony has. So, you got great video image for the front and great video image for the rear, as well as advanced parking monitoring features and 5 GHz Wi-Fi for faster download speeds.Watch V
The A229 Pro has been one of Viofo’s most popular dashcams thanks to its balance of features and performance. It’s even been my primary dashcam in both of my vehicles. The new A229 Ultra builds on that success, keeping the same strong front camera while upgrading the rear to 4K and widening the view inside the cabin.Read T
And honestly, first impressions are pretty good. It looks clean, it feels well-built, and the camera module itself can rotate and tilt up to about 90°, which should make installation a lot easier depending on the angle of your windshield. Looks like VIOFO also includes a CPL filter in the box, which is always nice because that's something you usually end up buying separately.Watch D
Great video very useful I will have to get someone to hardwire it as electrical work isn’t my strong point. I definitely want to get this as I have my 522GW Nextbase it’s useless.Watch A
Introducing the VIO A229 Pro 4K HDR dash cam, a cuttingedge dual channel system capturing stunning 4K up front and sharp 1080p at the rear with voice control, night vision, parking mode, and GPS. It ensures every drive is recorded with clarity and precision.Watch V
And right away, one of the biggest highlights here is that VIOFO is using Sony STARVIS 2 image sensors on both the front and rear cameras. On the front, we're getting 4K HDR recording. And if we take a look at the box, there's actually quite a bit going on here.Watch V
This 4K dash cam sees everything. The Oppo A229 Pro review you weren't ready for. Let's be real. You've probably felt that gut-inking dread after a close call on the road, right? Maybe your last dash cam let you down when you needed it most with grainy video, no night clarity, and files mysteriously missing. Or worse, no camera at all, leaving you with zero proof when the chaos hits.Watch W
Choose VIOFO's A229 Pro if keeping the smallest possible windshield footprint matters mostRead T
Overall, the VIOFO A229 Pro delivers excellent 4K and 2K video quality, strong night performance, and reliable heat resistance. If clear footage and dependable front and rear coverage are your top priorities, this is one of the strongest dash cams worth considering.Watch W
One of the standout features is the HDR technology. When combined with the Starvest 2 sensors, it expands the dynamic range to capture more detail in both the highlights and shadows. This makes a noticeable difference in low light conditions and ensures clear license plate recognition even when driving at high speeds.Watch C
Meet the Vofo A229 Pro 3 channel 4K HDR dash cam, a nextG dash cam system with cuttingedge sensors, ultra clear footage, and 360° vehicle coverage. Let us break it down. This dash cam setup includes three cameras. A 4K front camera, a 2K interior cabin cam, and a 1080p rear camera, giving you a full high-res view of what is happening around your vehicle at all times. No blind spots, no guesswork.Watch B Reddit r/BuyItForLife r/BuyItForLife Read thread

Overall, 4.0 out of 5.0. One star taken away due to it not being more readily available, and getting hit with that international transaction fee. Otherwise the product is self explanatory and easy to use. Remember though, if you don't have 24 hour power to your OBD-II port, then you won't get continous power for the dash cam! Likely wise to research that first.Read thread S
So, the 70MI and the VOFO A229 Pro don't do any kind of a good job picking up any license plates at high speeds. Now, the VOFU did pick up a couple here at high speeds, but really, we haven't found a dash camera that's going to do an amazing job. Now, the Void S1 is about to come out and it's supposed to have some pretty cool software. We'll see how it does.Watch S
At this point, though, I’m generally disappointed with the video quality, but I accept that it serves well as a security camera. Some sunsets in Thailand can unexpectedly look spectacular, and it would be nice to capture a few clips to use for social media from time to time.Watch V
Trust pilot reviews trend positive about tech support and replacements, while the negatives cluster around shipping times and the occasional DOA unit. Now, the product in context. A229 Pro is one of the first mainstream dual channel cams using StarVist 2 on both ends, which means less noise and wider dynamic range.Watch E
Cons: Higher price tag than many other dual channel systems. More complex installation due to multiple wiring needs for front, rear, and optional accessories. occasional app and firmware quirks, including minor connectivity issues. Some users have reported inconsistent McCord reliability in rare cases. Verdict: The Vifo A229 Pro is one of the most capable dash cams currently available.Watch
