There's a lot to love about the ThunderX3 Core , a gaming chair that mixes a professional appearance with serious lumbar support, good adjustability and a premium price point. ThunderX3 describes its so-called 'CORE.RDY 360' technology as one-of-a-kind, adding a support mechanism that tilts in every direction independently to the main seat. The impact this has on long gaming sessions is clear, especially by the day's end. Your spine stays neatly nestled in place - reducing the need to adjust your posture - making it a serious upgrade in comfort compared to most premium chairs I've tried for both gaming and video editing.

Having spent the past two years glued to the ThunderX3 Core gaming chair, I can say with confidence that the technology packed into the backrest is not, in fact, a gimmick. Looking at this racer-style gaming chair with its wiggly backrest protruding out, you might think it's undergone some kind of malfunction. But sit down and prepare to be amazed, because the ThunderX3 Core goes above and beyond for the price point, and it does so with impeccable style.

The ThunderX3 Core Loft Chair is a budget option compared to other high quality gaming chairs, but would still be a superb addition to anyone's gaming setup or home office!

The ThunderX3 Core is defined by two core things: it's really comfortable and it's amazingly good value. Across the board, its padding is much softer than many competitors, leading to superior short and long-term comfort. The seat padding and armrests are also so much nicer than many gaming chairs.

Frequently asked questions

It ranks #5 of 19 on our gaming chairs tier list, in B tier. That placement draws on 8 cited sources across 7 outlets.

None of the 8 sources with a clear view is critical of it. Support network is merely adequate - unspectacular.

Someone who wants office-chair ergonomics in a gaming chair without paying for a premium brand. Its synchronous tilt and self-adjusting lumbar reviewed well across outlets, and its largely mesh and fabric construction sidesteps the PU peeling that dominates long-term complaints. The trade-off is a support network that is merely adequate. If you want the same no-PU approach with a stronger parts pipeline, the Fractal Design Refine sits one place above it on our board, and the Secretlab Titan Evo remains the consensus pick.

It is built to avoid the failure that ends most gaming chairs. Mesh and fabric do not flake the way PU leatherette does, so the most common long-term complaint in the category does not apply. The board has no owner longevity figures for it, and its support network is adequate rather than strong, so a failed part may be slower to replace than on a Secretlab Titan Evo.

Self-adjusting, and reviewers liked it. The lumbar moves with you rather than relying on a loose pillow, and it pairs with a synchronous tilt mechanism, which is the office-chair approach rather than the racing-chair one. Both were reviewed well across outlets.

Adequate. The research records a solid support reputation but calls the network merely adequate and unspectacular, which is the one con against the chair. That is a step behind the Fractal Design Refine's parts pipeline and well behind Secretlab's ecosystem, but it is not a complaint pattern.
