The MOZA R5 feels heavier and more confident. The extra 1.6Nm doesn’t sound massive on paper, but you can feel it through longer corners and higher-speed direction changes. I've used a friends Moza R5 a bunch, and it's a great piece of kit. Double the power of what you have iirc, works great with LMU and AC (I've not tried F1). If you've played for 2 years, you already know you're invested in the hobby so the R5 is a solid upgrade.

However, the R5 Pro gives you that much more. It basically takes everything that the R3 is good at and turns it up to 11. That's more peak torque, more handling torque, greater precision, and greater depth of feeling as you're out there on the racetrack. You can literally buy this bundle, connect it all to your PC, with some calibration and configuration, you are off to the races.

At this budget, yes. The Moza R5 and the T300 are basically the same price, but the R5 delivers superior direct-drive technology. The T300 only makes sense if you need console compatibility (T300 works on console, R5 doesn't). For PC racers, R5 is no-brainer.

All V2 wheels (and there's plenty of choice) are compatible with the R5 base, albeit, FFB quality may be impacted if the wheel is heavier. Used to not be the case, all good now.

Just got it today and this is a super high quality product. Just really impressive that immediately. It still isn't the thing that is bothering me. When I first bought the R5, I was using it on a desk. And back then I actually thought a stronger wheelbase would be one of my first big upgrades. More force, more detail, more everything makes sense. But then I moved the same R5 onto the Play Trophy and it felt a lot better. Not stronger, just better. The desk wasn't moving anymore.

The way I saw the R5 was, if you use your wheel on a desk and you just put pedals on the floor then its excellent value for money - and much better, by a significant degree than all the gear and belt drive wheels.

Because there is no progressive resistance, the feel of the brake pedal is unnatural, making it difficult to maintain a stable output. This becomes particularly difficult when ABS is turned off or when performing heel-and-toe maneuvers. While it's possible to adjust the output curve using software, the effect is limited. In my opinion, an additional brake pedal performance kit is necessary.

Mounting wise, Fanitech offers more flexibility. You can mount it from the bottom or sides depending on your rig. MOSA only supports bottom mounting. On the other hand, MOSA includes a desk clamp in the bundle, while with Fanitech, you'll need to buy that separately. So, if you're racing from a desk, MOSA scores a point here. Now on track is where the real differences show up.

But that being said, this has been my only issue when not wearing headphones or flat spotting my tires. And for those less fortunate, it can develop a squeak, some flex, and a dodgy quick release. Likely all related to the internal screws working the way loose. And less commonly, the paddle shifter might also become loose.

It never really shook around. I always had a little bit of oscillations, but I mean, if you try to dampen those out, you would just end up losing that rotation speed. I found for me personally anyways. So I always ran it like this. Two things I'll demonstrate here. One, how this won't work.

❌ You want lots of kick behind the force feedback: At just 5 Nm, the Moza R5 isn't anywhere close to the power of the Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel. It's still got a fair bit of grunt, though, and should be plenty for most.

I have had a R5, R9 v2 and currently R16 v2. None ever broke down. And the ones I sold have never broke down. No issues for any of my equipment.
