The Logitech RS50 wheelbase is a strong re-entry into the mid-range direct drive category. It feels refined, well-built, and delivers excellent performance with or without TrueForce enabled. While it may not have the accessory variety or aggressive pricing of Moza or Fanatec, it makes up for it with simplicity, reliability, and genuine plug-and-play ease.

The final direct drive bundle I’d recommend is the newest. The RS50 is the latest sim racing wheel from the powerhouse Logitech. Previously known as kings of the budget sim racing wheel thanks to its G27, G29 and most recently G923. The American brand has since ventured into more premium sim racing hardware.

Straight off the bat, I have to admit the Logitech RS50 is definitely one of my favorite steering wheels that you can purchase in the market right now. In terms of its price to performance, feature set, and also the bundles available on Logitech's official website.

Is the Logitech RS50 worth it for PS5? Yes — the RS50 is one of the best value direct drive options available for PS5 in Australia. It delivers genuine direct drive force feedback at an accessible price, with TRUEFORCE haptics that add a unique layer of road feel in supported titles like Gran Turismo 7.

The Logitech G RS50 is my first foray into the world of peripherals in quite some time, and I’m impressed by a few things, like how well-priced it is and how many built-in features it has. It plays and handles well on PlayStation 5 with very little (if any) tweaks required to have fun.

It's very unique, and I really, really like it. I actually think the wheel and the wheel basease itself in their design is very understated. Now, I mentioned understated when I was looking at the Fanatic handbrake the other day. That I thought was understated in a kind of bland way. This I don't think comes across anywhere near as bland, but it's definitely understated.

I’ll take the table clamp on the RS50 over the G29’s setup any day of the week! Of course, I knew these were all just minor details compared to what’s going on inside. I feared upgrading to a wheel with 8 NM of torque after only having access to 2 NM would be overwhelming.

Now, in terms of quality, it it looks really good. It looks very expensive, really good finishes. I mean, on the website, you can pick and choose like the materials you want. So, I opted to go pretty much all the way. Uh, you know, just pick all the options that were available. So, I went with the carbon fiber glossy finish uh on the front plate. um a carbon fiber glossy for the rotaries.

The first thing I noticed, the RS50 looks and feels fantastic. The wheel rim feels premium. Leatherwrapped, solid buttons, tight construction. Everything just screams quality. Logitech clearly took its time studying the market before jumping into the direct drive world. Next to it, the Fanitech GT DD Pro feels more like a professional tool. Cleaner, more industrial, but rock solid.

The brake is really the star here. Out of the box, it's firm. And if you're used to the G920 pedals, it's going to feel strange at first. You're not pushing it far, you're pushing it hard. But once your muscle memory adjusts, braking becomes way more repeatable. You start hitting the same braking pressure lap after lap instead of guessing based on pedal travel.

Very nice packaging so far. Beautiful. Look at that. That feels really nice. Feels really good. The size is a little bit bigger than the other wheel, which is great. Probably not as big as I would like for it to have been. This is not leather. It's a silicon leather. Still feels really good, but I much prefer the shape of the pro wheel. But you can't actually get the pro wheel shape.

I get plenty of force and road detail without it feeling dangerous or fatiguing. It gives me confidence in corners and weight transfer without turning every session into a workout. Compared to my previous wheel, the step up in feedback quality was immediate. The RS50 feels quieter, smoother, and more linear.

So, my initial thoughts is everything feels really high high quality, really premium. Um, especially coming from the last wheel I had, which was a Logitech G920, which I'm sure everyone starts off on at least. Um, yeah, I like the way that wheel felt. I love that wheel. Had it for like two years. I played the out of it, beat it up. My dog chewed the wire, fixed it.

It feels like it's been ages since Logitech came to market with a new sim racing system that was easily recommendable to most PS5 players. Of course, the G Pro and RS Wheel Hub have both been around in recent times, but their high prices have made it difficult to see them as progressions from the classic G923 and G920 wheels that are still popular today.
