I decided to keep the v50 because of the price and mopping performance. The z60 along with all roller mops robo vacs I have tested, tend to leave streaks, puddles and drips water. No matter what water level I use. Plus the docking stations was super easy to clean and the z60 never full dried the roller mop. For the vacuum, I noticed that the bottom of V50 unit remained cleaner.

This robot vacuum does something that most robot vacuums simply cannot do. It climbs, it lowers itself, it lifts its laser sensors, it removes its mops when it sees carpet, it has 24,000 PA suction, it has two mechanical arms to reach corners, dual cleaning solution tanks. I can go on and on.

The Mova V50 Complete IS Just A Dad Approved. After three months of real-world testing, this robot earned it. Flagship features at a mid-range price — 24,000 Pa TurboForce suction, retractable LiDAR, StepMaster threshold climbing, and dual-roller DuoBrush that handles long-hair pets without clogging. Mop Performance and Carpet Cleaning both scored a perfect 5/5.

This isn't just another robot vacuum. It's its own self-sufficient cleaning assistant. And today, we're putting it to the test and the most realworld way possible. Let's start with mobility. Because if your robot can't even get to the mess, you've already lost. My place has hardwood floor, thick carpets that shifts out of the way under sofa clearance, even the tight spot beneath my TV stand.

The Mova V50 Ultra Complete is their flagship model. This machine is incredibly advanced. It has a feature called the Obstacle-Crossing StepMaster. Most robot vacuums get stuck if you have a thick rug or a raised doorway. The V50 Ultra can literally climb over thresholds up to 60 millimeters high.

The Mova V50 Ultra is the first one I’ve used that actually feels like it’s doing what these things have always claimed to do. It’s properly hands off. You set it up, let it do its thing, and it just… works. It’s the closest I’ve come to that true “set and forget” experience.

The dual tank system is a game-changer. One tank for everyday cleaning solution and one dedicated for pet messes. And here's the cool part. In the app, you can tap pet area cleaning and the Moava will head straight there using the pet mess detergent. The Moava Step Master climbing system can handle obstacles up to 6 cm high, roughly about 2.3 in.

We're going to talk about the fact that this has one of the strongest suction powers on the market. We also have the fact that this can actually jump over barriers, which is very unique. And I love the fact that it actually even pays attention to pet odor, something that we don't typically hear when we talk about a smart vacuum. So, without further ado, this is the V50 Ultra from Mova.

So in pure obstacle crossing power, MOA takes this one very easily. Now the next is going to be AI navigation performance. Navigation is where both of these robots feel very futuristic, but they take different approaches. The MOA V50 Ultra uses a lifting LDS laser that automatically raises and lowers depending on the environment.

Game changer for pet owners. And notice it auto lifted the mop pad when it hit the carpet so it didn't get wet. Life has clutter. Can it navigate without getting stuck on a dog toy? So far so good. Now for mopping a real dried-on spill, and this is where the MOA's industry first dual solution system really shines. Instead of just plain water, the V50 Ultra has two separate cleaning solution tanks.

I like the setup a lot that works very well and minimizes maintenance. The V50 has one extra trick up its sleeve, the Omni Dry system with the ability to dry the dirt cup and bag between uses. This means that if the robot picks up any moisture while mopping and it ends up in the bag or dirt cup, the dock will dry them out afterwards to help prevent smells or mildew buildup.

I noticed it pulls a lot more dirt and hair out of rugs than some other robot vacuums I've used. On hard floors, it does what I want without much fuss. On carpet, it feels more serious than the usual robot vacuum. I have seen a lot of models that are fine for surface dust, but struggle once hair and fine dirt get worked into the fibers. This one does better there.

The suction is one of its strongest points. This model is rated at 24,000 PA, and while numbers don't always mean much in real life, I can actually see the difference on carpet. This threshold is almost 2 in at its highest point, so that's honestly really impressive. I do find its return back to the lower level a little less than graceful when it reenters our kitchen, as it does just kind of plop its way down, but the vacuum seems none the worse for wear at least, and it does get the job done. The Step Master system also makes it ideal for gyms or kids' playrooms.

Vorticity saw the pillow and went around it perfectly, but it did try to climb the table. Honestly, I'm not totally surprised by this behavior on this obstacle, given the threshold climbing capabilities of this robot and the bottom of the table looking similar to a threshold between floors. But, it didn't avoid the table base like it would a typical obstacle. It did avoid the charging cable.

Frequently asked questions

It ranks #2 (A tier) on our consolidated robot vacuums board, drawn from 73 cited sources across 49 outlets.

Early inconsistent brush performance before firmware update.

Buyers who want flagship cleaning without paying the flagship price. It ranks second on our robot vacuums board in A tier, and the research singles out its price-to-performance ratio, strong suction, accurate mapping and low failure rate. If you want the most durable robot regardless of cost, the Roborock Saros 10R in S tier is the better buy. If you are shopping the Mova range, skip the Mova P10 Pro Ultra in D tier, which is cited for weak suction and firmware bugs.

The research behind its rank cites solid construction and a low failure rate, which is what keeps it above budget models and earns it A tier. As with any robot vacuum, brushes, filters, mop pads and the battery wear out and are replaced as consumables. A robot with a low failure rate and regular firmware updates should give four to six years of service.

Not much, on the evidence. The one fault in the research is inconsistent brush performance on early units, which a firmware update fixed. Update the firmware through the app as soon as you set it up. The same early brush complaint appears on the Mova P10 Pro Ultra, but that model also has navigation bugs and overheating in its record, which the Mova V50 Ultra does not.

Yes. It is a vacuum-and-mop robot with a dock that washes and dries the pads, the full self-maintenance setup you get on flagships. The Mova P50 Pro Ultra in B tier shares similar mopping hardware and dock automation and sits as the step between the P10 and the V50, but reviewers call it overhyped at its price, so the Mova V50 Ultra is the better Mova buy.

The Complete is the same robot sold with the full dock bundle, and it is the version on our board. Some markets also list the model simply as MOVA V50. Check that the listing includes the self-emptying, mop-washing dock before you buy, because that dock is a large part of what makes the Mova V50 Ultra good value.
