The JBL Go 5 connects wirelessly over Bluetooth 6.0 and supports SBC, AAC , and LC3 codecs . In my testing, the connection was stable, with no noticeable dropouts during normal use. You can also play audio over USB-C for a wired connection, which is a nice addition at this size, though I don’t see most people using it.

But, in my opinion, this one looks a little bit better because over here all of the dirt and the dust will come inside. So, it's covered. For me, this is the better solution. Now, I do want to mention that although you can't customize the lighting colors, you do have the ability to select from different edge lighting patterns in the JBL app and the options consist of bounce, loop, switch, and freeze, which is actually pretty practical because it keeps the LED lights on permanently.

What I like most about the JBL Go series is like they have this loopy loop here. So, if you want to clamp it onto your bike, your finger. I like to snap this with my car key sometimes, just like so and put it onto my pockets and something when I'm walking around the city just to get that nice little oomph. But yeah, I'm so excited. It is a compact portable speaker featuring incremental upgrades over the JBL Go 4 featuring Bluetooth 6.0 and also has a play time of up to 10 hours using the play time boost. For a small speaker this size, the Go 5 sounds surprisingly amazing. The vocals are clear, there's good detail in the music, and it doesn't sound like you're listening through a cheap little speaker. Thank goodness. Now, when it comes to the bass, I'm going to have to tell you does it have some bass? Yes. Is it powerful for the size? Heck, yes. But is it room shaking bass? No, it is not.

Um and you can see why because they just do what they say on the tin. You know, they're cheap, they they they produce good sound, they're very drop-proof and waterproof, and obviously incredibly portable cuz they weigh almost nothing, and they're very small. The upgrade is far more significant than it looks. The Go 4 already introduced Bluetooth 5.3, but the Go 5 jumps to Bluetooth 6.0 along with support for newer codecs like LC3. This is a forward-looking upgrade that improves efficiency, latency, and audio quality potential, even if not all devices can fully utilize it yet.

I think it looks great. And size-wise, the Go 5 is slightly larger than the Go 4, as you can see right there. And the thickness, you can see it's just slightly thicker than the Go 4 as well. The Go 5 still retains AuraCast, where you can link other speakers through the JBL portable app for that nice surround sound.

I do like it better than the Go 4, but it is wider, so that's kind of a bummer. Um the strap is a little bit smaller and less stretchy, so that's that's something. The JBL's now hollowed out, which is pretty cool. There's the right side. The back here you could see that's refined. I don't like this because it slides around too much.
