The Bose Soundlink Flex (2nd Gen) is a compact portable speaker that can be used inside and outside the house. It was released in late 2024, three years after the original Soundlink Flex , which was a fantastic piece of kit at the time. I’ve tried both devices – and while there’s not much difference between them, the latest model is undeniably more refined.

And if you're looking at the Flex, it steps it up because it's coming with a custom transducer and it's coming with dual passive radiators on the back, front and back. So that's going to give a clearer sound and deeper bass. It comes to something like charging. This is where you'll notice the difference between the older models and the newer models. So the Micro had come out in 2020.

And at the back, we also have an additional speaker grill, which is good for bass. And if we take a look at the top, we have a few buttons.

Now, the only thing I would mention though is that because this exposed grill is metal, it will mark quite easily if you drop it face down. So, it will show signs of wear and tear a little bit easier than other options on the market, which is just something to bear in mind. Okay. So, not much has changed from a design perspective then.

I already set the bass lower through an equalizer app on my phone, even on the bose app but it is still the same, the volume still changes.

I'll say the Bose is warmer, the JBL is brighter. Uh I think both have the same amount of bass. I think in particular, just in this track I felt the JBL had a little bit more bass. Uh let me know if you all feel something different. But yeah, from me that is about it.

Maybe bose flex is better but its damn ugly - coming strait from the 80s - will choose the marshall because its elegant!

If you’re after deep, full sound, I’d say Bose is your pick. Otherwise, go for Marshall. Just my personal opinion.
