The Flip 6 is more than a worthy successor to the Flip 5. Thanks to the size, the speaker is easy to take with you. That's nice for on the go or outside. The sound quality isn't affected by the size. The speaker sound powerful and clear, even at louder volumes. via the JBL Portable app, I can adjust the speaker to my taste.

The Flip series has always been known for its excellent audio performance, and the Flip 6 takes things a step further. JBL has upgraded the internal components, including a separate tweeter for clearer heights and a racetrack shaped woofer for deeper bass. And the result, a much more balanced and powerful sound profile compared to its predecessor, the Flip 5.

Now, one thing that's cool with the JBL Flip 6 is you do get a charging cable in the box. The Flip 7 does not have a charging cable. Now, I guess they've got a point when they sort of uh assume that you've got enough USBC charging cables at home. I suppose it is a good way to sort of reduced uh e-waste, but I would have preferred a cable nonetheless.

Build quality is really good. This speaker is very handy. First things first and secondly in build quality, this speaker feels very solid and rugged. Texture wise it is really smooth. And here you get a mushy texture which is not slippery like that. And here on the edges you get like rubber. This is a little sticky rubber. So it is how it is. So build quality wise amazing design it is lovely.

Other thing about this as well is it's IP67 waterproof and dustproof, and that makes it a game changer.

At SoundGuys , we’ve noticed that JBL’s Bluetooth speakers have a specific frequency response , or “signature sound,” which remains true for the Flip 6. The Flip 5 boosts bass more than the Flip 4, and it seems the Flip 6 kept that in place. Much like any Bluetooth speaker, it isn’t targeted at audiophiles straining to hear every nuance in their music.

The Flip 6 has a brighter sound signature, so the highs can breathe a bit more, but the overall quality of the Charge 5’s audio is beats it out. The lower mids are full on the Charge 5 even at high volumes, and the treble never gets too harsh.

If you compare that to something like the JBL Flip 6, well this is noticeably thinner than the Wonderboom 3 however it's 7” long. It's also heavier as well. It is 550g. So that gives it a noticeable weight difference to the Wonderboom 3 which may or may not be an issue for you. From a waterproof perspective they are very similar.
