The JBL Boom Box 4 definitely sounds better. Now, keep in mind over a YouTube video, you might not be able to really hear the difference, but the JBL Boom Box 4 is louder. And keep in mind, I got two bass options. So, I'm going to start the song over again. This time, we're going to unplug both speakers and I'm going to switch the JBL Bass on the uh Boombox 4. All right.

The Boombox 4 is also slightly more durable than the Boombox 3 with an IP68 rating, meaning it's still fully dustproof, but now it can be submerged deeper into water. And it's also about 2 lb lighter than the Boombox 3. Boombox 3 weighs in at around 15 lbs, but the 4 weighs around 13 lbs. So, we've got a new model that's more durable yet lighter than its predecessor. But enough about the outside.

If you want the loudest, clearest bass that can reverberate across a house or huge outdoor party without distorting, the JBL Boombox is our favorite option. While it can be used for solo jam sessions, there are more affordable, compact, and portable options available.

We have a very beautiful design here, as I told you weeks ago, it's basically a Mega Extreme 4. No exaggeration, look, exactly the same, the same shape, but with a handle here on top. The Boombox 4 will feature AI Soundboss, which we already see here in other speakers, and it will optimize your sound using artificial intelligence. Furthermore, it will also have Bluetooth 5.4.

The JBL Boombox 4 and PartyBox 720 are unapologetically built for scale—lighter builds, smarter AI-powered audio, user-replaceable batteries, and full waterproofing/splashproofing mean JBL isn’t just chasing volume, it’s chasing longevity and versatility.

It has excellent construction, the AI Soundboss. In my opinion, based on the tests I've conducted here on the channel, it makes a real difference in your user experience. Its sound is truly full, and besides being very well-rounded, it also has incredible volume, to the point of beating a speaker from the Paribx line.

The big selling point for me on the Boombox 4 was being able to output 200 RMS on battery, which is just ridiculous. There's no current Bluetooth speaker out there right now that can output that kind of power on battery. The Boombox 4 is special.

This speaker delivers up to 210 W RMS when plugged into an outlet. For those who aren't very familiar with numbers, it basically means an extremely loud, strong, and prominent sound. That feeling of the bass pounding in your chest, you know? So, that's exactly the kind of experience it is.

This could be the ultimate portable speaker of 2025. Let's break it down. The Boombox 4 isn't just about size. It's about sound. With dual 5-in woofers, dual tweeters, and three passive radiators, this thing delivers booming bass, crisp highs, and powerful output. In AC mode, you get a huge 130 watts RMS. And even on battery, it still pushes serious volume.

I put it up against its brothers, and honestly, this one doesn't get as loud, but I do think that it sounds better. It's got the best clarity, the best mids, and really good allgether put together sound. not as deep a subbase and doesn't get as loud. The JBL Boombox 4 has awesome clarity, has great highs, and good decent bass to go along with it with uh decent mids as well. The 28-hour figure is real at moderate volumes. But max everything out with bass boost engaged, and that drops to around 5 to 10 hours. 5 to 10. Something to plan around. And one more note, JBL removed the 3.5 mm AUX this generation. USB-C lossless is in its place now. Listen, here's what I think everyone's missing. That 34-hour battery claim. 34 hours. It only applies with playtime boost on.

In my opinion, it's not too bad. The worst bit that I found is it's on the highs. Over 60% the highs can really make your ears bleed. Go outdoors. Then the extra volume will be a welcome thing I imagine. So I did mention you get that in the bass. All I'm really getting is that little bit of the sound of probably the passes bottoming out.
