The major takeaway, then, is that the JBL Go 5 is a great-sounding, well-built, and highly affordable mini Bluetooth speaker that offers plenty of improvements over its predecessor. I have some minor complaints, like the lack of color options for its LED lights and the battery life, which can be beaten by some rivals.Read W
This, in part, is why the JBL Go 5 exists. The fifth generation of JBL’s very affordable Bluetooth speaker is built to be almost as portable as your smartphone itself, but with boosted sonic capabilities that won’t leave your music sounding as though it’s been put through the metaphorical microwave.Read

The JBL Go 5 connects wirelessly over Bluetooth 6.0 and supports SBC, AAC , and LC3 codecs . In my testing, the connection was stable, with no noticeable dropouts during normal use. You can also play audio over USB-C for a wired connection, which is a nice addition at this size, though I don’t see most people using it.Read F
Now let me tell y'all about my favorite feature about this speaker. It has Auracast. That means you can pair this up with any other JBL speaker that has Auracast, and as many as you want. Now know somebody's going to say, which one you like better, the JBL or the Tribit? The JBL. Why? Because of Auracast.Watch H
AirTouch allows two JBL Go 5 speakers to be paired directly for stereo playback by briefly bringing them together. That is a simple idea, but in practice it could be one of the most useful features in the entire product.Read T
But, if you're buying your first ultra-portable speaker or if you're coming from any of the older generations such as the Go 2 or the Go 3 from 2020, I think the Go 5 is easily the best version of this concept thus far. Not because of the raw sound, but because of the connectivity, the stability, and the usability. Let me show you how.Watch I Instagram Instagram post
Exciting to see the new JBL Go 5! Looking forward to your review!View post T
JBL leans on their legendary sound in a speaker the size of your palm, which truly is. Both of those are marketing lines. So instead of trusting either one, here's a reference sample so you can hear it for yourself and judge with your own ears. The Trip 2 is a little larger than the JBL Go5.Watch T
Winner: JBL Go 5Read H
But, in my opinion, this one looks a little bit better because over here all of the dirt and the dust will come inside. So, it's covered. For me, this is the better solution. When you take a look on the left side, well, the buttons on the Go 5 are actually a little bit bigger. And the the LED light is available here. This is the small LED light. But, the LED light on the JBL Go 5 is available hereWatch H
Hey, let me show you the best features of JBL Go 5 speaker. So, first something that I want to mention that you cannot even find on the user manual or on the website. For each color, we can find different LED light color. On the black one, we can find white. On the red one, we can find red color. And also, it support JBL portable application.Watch T
It's smaller than a sandwich, tougher than my last relationship, and louder than my neighbor's leaf blower at 7:00 a.m. First off, the build. If you're used to the GO 4, the GO 5 feels like it went to the gym and actually focused on its core. It's got these rounded edges that make it feel like a heavy-duty pebble. The black finish isn't just a color, >> it's a lifestyle.Watch T
Now, I do want to mention that although you can't customize the lighting colors, you do have the ability to select from different edge lighting patterns in the JBL app and the options consist of bounce, loop, switch, and freeze, which is actually pretty practical because it keeps the LED lights on permanently.Watch R
What I like most about the JBL Go series is like they have this loopy loop here. So, if you want to clamp it onto your bike, your finger. I like to snap this with my car key sometimes, just like so and put it onto my pockets and something when I'm walking around the city just to get that nice little oomph. But yeah, I'm so excited. Let's just jump right in and see which one's the best.Watch Y
For a small speaker this size, the Go 5 sounds surprisingly amazing. The vocals are clear, there's good detail in the music, and it doesn't sound like you're listening through a cheap little speaker. Thank goodness. Now, when it comes to the bass, I'm going to have to tell you does it have some bass? Yes. Is it powerful for the size? Heck, yes. But is it room shaking bass? No, it is not.Watch D
The JBL Go 5 definitely sounds a lot cleaner.Watch T
So, IP68 water resistant and 10 hours of battery life, which for small speakers is actually pretty impressive. It works with the JBL portable app and has the brand new Bluetooth 6.0. So, you can enjoy your music at much better quality. Air touch, stereo pair your Go 5 effortlessly. So, you can actually pair two of them together for stereo sound.Watch H
Um and you can see why because they just do what they say on the tin. You know, they're cheap, they they they produce good sound, they're very drop-proof and waterproof, and obviously incredibly portable cuz they weigh almost nothing, and they're very small. So, just a really great speaker all round, especially for the money.Watch F
I do feel like the JBL Go 5 sounds a little bit better than the Go 4. I probably like the new style on the JBL Go 5 as well with the lighting effects. It definitely makes it easier to see what's going on versus looking for the small indicator light.Watch G
Hi, so this is the JBL Go 5, JBL's depending on how you view the Clip speaker, smallest speaker in their lineup of battery-powered Bluetooth speakers. So, is it any good and what is new from Go 4? First, as for news, we get a slightly better battery life up from 7 to 8 hours or 9 to 10 hours with the Playtime Boost energy saving mode turned on.Watch G
This one wins by a mile. Sound quality, bass, volume, it just crushes it.Watch W
So, if you value a familiar pocketable design with a more stylish look, the Go 5 feels like the better everyday carry. Moving on to connectivity and durability, this is where the JBL Go 5 starts pulling ahead in a practical way. It uses Bluetooth 6.0 and adds LC3 codec support, which means it can deliver cleaner sound at lower bit rates. So, it needs less data to sound good.Watch W
So, if you value lighter weight, stronger protection, and a more customizable design, the JBL Go 5 is the better fit. Moving on to features, connectivity, and app control, the JBL starts to separate itself more clearly. The Sony SRS-XB100 uses Bluetooth 5.3 and supports sub-band codec and advanced audio coding. While its built-in microphone lets you use the speaker for hands-free calls.Watch B
Highly recommended it. Go grab one.Watch T
So, who is this for? If you're a student, a traveler, or just someone who wants an aesthetic setup for your desk, this is a no-brainer. It's small, it's loud, and it looks cool in photos. My first impression, JBL didn't just make a louder speaker, they made a smarter one.Watch T
If you want something more premium-looking, there's the Marshall Willen 2, but for pure ruggedness and value, the Go 5 is hard to beat. It's built for the person who doesn't want to baby their tech. The JBL Go 5 isn't trying to be a home theater system. It's trying to be the speaker that's always with you. After a month of use, it's earned its spot in my daily carry.Watch T
But, if you want that USB-C lossless audio, the drop resistance, and the cool lighting, the Go 5 is a solid 2026 upgrade. What do you guys think? Drop a comment in the chat. Are you team Go 4 or Go 5? Let me know.Watch K
The upgrade is far more significant than it looks. The Go 4 already introduced Bluetooth 5.3, but the Go 5 jumps to Bluetooth 6.0 along with support for newer codecs like LC3. This is a forward-looking upgrade that improves efficiency, latency, and audio quality potential, even if not all devices can fully utilize it yet.Watch V
Released this year a few months ago in April of '26, the pros are, well, it's literally the size of a large bar of soap and weighs almost nothing.Watch T
The version I've picked up for this review is the red model, and I have to say it looks fantastic in person. The color is bold without being overly bright, and it gives the speaker a much more premium look than you might expect at this price point.Watch D
Okay, guys, both are good and I really like both of them. I think it has the same thing for me.Watch D
This is the brand new JBL Go 5. It's smaller than my phone, but JBL claims it's louder and smarter than ever before. Today, we're unboxing it, testing that new Bluetooth 6, and seeing if that tiny driver can actually handle real bass.Watch D
Between the edge lighting and the pro-level EQ, it's easily the best value speaker out right now. If you found these tips helpful, hit that like button and let me know. Which light mode are you picking? Bounce or freeze? I'll see you in the next review.Watch D
Better build faster tech and lossless audio, the Go 5 isn't just a refresh, it's a total upgrade. And if you care about future proofing your gear this is it. So, catch you in the next one.Watch

The bigger question here is whether a stereo pair solves that problem in a meaningful way, and whether the Go 5 still makes sense as a purchase when JBL’s own Clip 5 sits just above it in price and capability.Read P
But at the same time, I can't help but feel like the Go 5 isn't as easy to recommend as previous speakers in this series because of a couple of things that I will discuss throughout today's video, so let's get started. Okay, so as you can see, the Go 5 has gotten a little bulkier after all this time. This, again, is still a very much compact speaker, but it's noticeably larger than the Go 4.Watch I Instagram Instagram post
Overall, while features like app support and Auracast remain similar, the Go 5 promises better bass and sound—but actual performance will be clear only after listening.View post S
Don't upgrade to the JBL Go 5. Seriously, if you already own the Go 4, you're not missing much. That said, if you're buying your first ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker, then the Go 5 is probably the better buy. So, let's talk about what's the same, what's changed, and whether any of it really matters.Watch J r/JBL reddit.com
Yes, I did. I got it several days ago, but I ended up returning it.Read thread C
I think it looks great. And size-wise, the Go 5 is slightly larger than the Go 4, as you can see right there. And the thickness, you can see it's just slightly thicker than the Go 4 as well. The Go 5 still retains AuraCast, where you can link other speakers through the JBL portable app for that nice surround sound.Watch G
Overall, the JBL Go 5 gets the job done.Watch G
But today, we're going to check it out and we're going to compare it to the Soundcore Boom Go 3i, which is a speaker that gives you a very big bang for your buck, and it's a lot more versatile as well.Watch T
Overall, the audio performance is better than the previous models. It's also like Auracast-supported device, so you can connect it with other JBL speakers, but also with other speakers that also support Auracast. It also has this like Air Touch, but do you be aware this only works with other Air Touching devices.Watch T
Yes, they have done an audio job well, not the best I would say, but they do all right job.Watch T
So, the JBL Go 5 is a pretty cool speaker. It's definitely a bit clearer than the Tribit Pocket Go. But, the Tribit is not too bad, either. It's also like 50% off the price of the JBL. And of course, with the JBL, you get light show. It has AuraCast. It has AirTouch. Uh it has some more functionality. It also has a bit better build quality. But, honestly, if you want something that's easy on the gWatch T
I do like it better than the Go 4, but it is wider, so that's kind of a bummer. Um the strap is a little bit smaller and less stretchy, so that's that's something. The JBL's now hollowed out, which is pretty cool. There's the right side. The back here you could see that's refined. I don't like this because it slides around too much. This I think is going to be a lot more better.Watch K
Even though the Go 5 introduces refined tuning and smart EQ enhancements, raw acoustic hardware still favors the bigger speaker. In this category, the JBL Clip 5 is the clear winner. The gap grows even larger. The Go 5 delivers 8 hours of playback, stretching to 10 hours with playtime boost, which is respectable for its size. But, the Clip 5 reaches 12 hours or 15 hours with playtime boost, and thWatch

The JBL Go 5 and JBL Clip 5 are both small, rugged, outdoor-ready Bluetooth speakers from JBL, but they’re built around different ideas of what “portable” means. The Go 5 is as small as it gets: a pocketable square you toss in a bag and forget about.Read T
