Jackery Explorer 1000 v2

P Popular Mechanics David Dritsas · reviewer · Jun 2026

This power station is best suited for camping trips, off-road outings, and running a refrigerator for a few hours during a blackout emergency. There’s a reason we ranked the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 as the best value power station : It delivers a lot of power and offers versatile output options for a low price—without shorting you on quality. That value proposition gets even better on Amazon Prime Day , when the price drops from $799 to $400, which is close to the lowest price we’ve seen.

I personally have used this Jackary 1000 V2 way more than I ever thought I would. And if you've been considering any portable power station, I think this is a great option. It's affordable, it's portable, it's powerful and smart

Five months of Northern Michigan field use — ice fishing, spring flooding, emergency outages, and daily cycling — produced one clear verdict: the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 performs exactly as rated and shows no signs of premature aging at 82 cycles. The LiFePO4 chemistry delivered. The 1-hour emergency charge held through 14 sessions without measurable degradation. The 3,000W surge handled every real-world load we threw at it, including two use cases the original review never tested.

Today, I'm reviewing something that has quickly become one of my favorite companions for camping, traveling, and even as a backup at home during emergencies, the Jackery Solar Generator 1000 V2. This isn't just another power station. It's a thoughtfully engineered solution designed to power families, outdoor explorers, and anyone who values reliable portable energy.

My elderly mother has an electric chair lift for when she falls and can't get back up. The problem is, sometimes she doesn't fall close to a electric outlet. The last time she fell, I plugged her electric chair lift into the Jackery 1000 v2 and it had the power to lift her to the couch. To us, that's a major bonus to be able to use it for that. Now it doesn't matter where she falls, we can get her back up with electric lift.

B Business Insider Lauren Allain · reviewer · May 2026

The Jackery Explorer 1000 V2 can power up devices on the go. The 24-pound device has a compact footprint that's easy to carry, thanks to a foldable handle that lets you carry it with one hand, unlike models with built-in side handles, which tend to be easiest to carry with both hands. In our testing, it was one of the best performers in actual power output relative to stated power output, achieving 90% efficiency.

I wonder if it would be wiser to have 2 of these Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 vs. a Jackery 2000plus with an extra battery pack stacked on top to power a refrigerator in a power outage such as a hurricane. I’m thinking one of the 1000 v2 could be solar charging while the other could be powering the refrigerator & then when one is drained it could be swapped out & charge the drained one with solar.

Today we are taking a look at a new portable power station, this is the “Jackery Explorer V2”. With solid specs and a great usable capacity, this is definitely one of the better power stations out there!

We actually just got the new 1000 v2 at overland expo a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love it! Fast charging is so nice and having the app is really nice! Still using our 500, but moving up to the 1000 v2, the older 100w solar panels and older chargers will not work without an adapter from DC7909 to DC8020. But once I made this change, this is totally our goto.

The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 portable power station brings meaningful upgrades where they matter most. The 1-hour AC charging time transforms the user experience—no more planning your day around a 7-hour wait. I have the 1000 v2 and a 200w solar panel. It is amazing, perfect for me. But then I don’t use a lot of high wattage things. Small coffee pot, small toaster, small micro wave, phone, iPad, small fridge/freezer (has it’s own battery - I just charge it with the Jackery), small fan, small heater. Of course I don’t plug it all in at once 🤣.
