Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)
the current overall winner in mainstream testing, and Bose's warranty and fit hardware have a reasonable multi-year track record. Carries the usual TWS battery-sealed-in-the-shell risk, but it is the safest flagship to own into year three.

Bose announced its latest earbuds in June , but the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd gen) ($299) won't arrive until early September. Today, though, they're available for preorder, and I've spent the last few weeks testing all the new features. This model is an overhaul of the noise-canceling earbuds the company debuted in 2023 alongside its take on spatial audio. Among the upgrades, Bose has improved the active noise cancellation (ANC) performance, enhanced call quality and added wireless charging to the case. Two years later, the QuietComfort Ultra is still the best option for those primarily concerned with blocking distractions, and Bose's tweaks make its best earbuds even better.Read C CEONTHEMAKING CEONTHEMAKING · 177K subscribers · Sept 2025
Also, some give the voice more presence in the bass, some more presence in the treble, but the one that stood out to me the most is the QC Ultra. It did a great job of reducing background noise, and it kept the voice very full while maintaining great clarity. This is definitely a step forward for Bose. For years, their mics have always had this hollow, echoey effect on the voice, but that seems to be fixedWatch P
The second-gen Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds produce impressive results through a combination of calibration tests and subtle adaptive noise-cancelling tweaks. They're even more effective at low and high frequencies than the first generation, making them among the best ANC you can get from earbuds, along with the AirPods Pro 3. The Bose earbuds have an Active Aware mode that tamps down louder environmental noises while still allowing you to hear your surroundings. Support for the AptX Adaptive codec adds value, as does the new charging case, which can now recharge wirelessly.Read T
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) are the top of the range in-ear headphones within the Bose range, and offer outstanding sound and ANC as you’d expect.Watch H
The QuietComfort Ultra earbuds (2nd Gen) otherwise impress in their capabilities, delivering a snug and comfortable fit, balanced audio with the ability to bring the boom, and class-leading ANC. Excelling at any of those individual categories make for a compelling product, but these earbuds hit on all fronts. We were also blown away by how well the AI-based SpeechClarity feature works. That may not be a primary selling feature, but it's certainly a worthwhile bonus.Read W Weekend Gear Guide Weekend Gear Guide · 4.8K subscribers · Aug 2025
So, overall, based on our subjective scores, for the first time ever, both the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd generation with a new speech clarity firmware, along with the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4, are arguably tied for the best true wireless earbuds of 2025 for voice call quality. In addition, with the introduction of the speech clarity voice enhancement firmware, we can safely conclude that the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd generation is the most improved true wireless earbuds for voice call quality.Watch A
With the second-generation Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds, Bose took a category leader in the wireless space and made it even better. The charging case now support wireless charging built-in, and the ANC and call quality are improved. Best of all, Bose didn't change what we loved about the originals, including the excellent comfort, fit, and sound profile.Read P

It’s been a year since Bose announced the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) , and in most respects, they’ve held up as some of the best noise canceling earbuds you can buy. In our testing, they reduced the loudness of external noise by an average of 85%, which is among the best results we’ve measured for any wireless earbuds. The fit is comfortable and stable, so they’ve been one of my go-to picks for the gym or outdoor activities. But after nearly a year of daily use, one problem still hasn’t gone away, and it’s become a constant frustration: wind noise.Read S

While they don't boast the most extended battery life or the best call quality, their high-quality audio and ease of use stand out. There are less expensive and more comfortable choices, but if you want the most captivating earbuds, these buds are for you.Read G GYMCADDY GYMCADDY · 177K subscribers · Sept 2025
So, with all that being said, the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds 2 are a pair of very comfortable fitting earbuds that actually offer you a lot of lockdown. So, they're not going to wiggle out as easily as, let's say, the Airbud Pros or Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and they don't feel intrusive like a pair of standard fitting inear earbuds. I also like that these earbuds are able to block out a lot of noise with less cabin pressure, again, making them very comfortable. However, with these earbuds, you are going to have to make a lot of sacrifices and compromises for slightly better fitWatch

On our earbuds board, Sony WF-1000XM6 ranks #1 (S tier) ahead of Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) at #4 (A tier).
