Frequently asked questions
LG WM4000H sits at #1 in the S tier of our consolidated board, ranked across independent research runs over 158 cited reviews, videos and discussions. Wirecutter's top pick and Consumer Reports' most reliable front-load brand. The rare machine that is both the reviewer favorite and a service-data safe bet.
Electrolux 700 Series ELFW7738A ranks #2 (A tier). Same story with more smart features. Slightly more electronics to fail, which matters under this lens even if the core machine is excellent.
Our research places Speed Queen TR7, Whirlpool Smart Front Load Washer with FreshFlow, GE Profile GFW550SSNWW, Samsung WW11DB8B95GB, Miele W1, Samsung Series 9 Bespoke AI Washing Machine WF90F09C4SU1, GE GTW585BSVWS, GE UltraFast Washer/Dryer Combo in the bottom tiers (D/F). Speed Queen TR7: Good Housekeeping's and The Spruce's top-loader pick with the same legendary build. It ranks below the TC5 because you pay extra for the TR7's trim level without gaining longevity.
