Flagged as a product to avoid

1 of 10 research runs entered this as a product to avoid rather than a pick.

It costs Speed Queen money for cleaning and features that the LG WM4000H and Electrolux 700 Series ELFW7738A match or beat for far less; the brand's appeal rests almost entirely on longevity rather than performance or value.

Their washers are tested to 10,000 cycles (about 25 years of average home use), built with metal components where competitors use plastic, and backed by an industry-leading 7-year warranty on parts and labor for the TR and TC series. When a Speed Queen washer displays an error code, it is communicating a specific diagnostic finding from a control system designed for commercial reliability.

The Speed Queen FF7 delivers incredible cleaning power while using significantly less water. This Speed Queen front load washer rotates clothes through a shallow pool of water, tumbling them gently but effectively. It is highly efficient for large loads and provides superior stain removal for mixed items. The front-load design also spins out more water, cutting down your time in the dryer.

The FF7 is a great fit for people who prioritize performance above extra features, though households accustomed to washing oversize loads may need to adjust their habits.

I would get the SQ FF7 for sure if money were no object, but since it's only going to be used by one tenant, I'm wondering if it's overkill? Maybe I'm better off getting an LG front loader like the WM3400CW + extended warranty for less than half the cost? Your comment speaking as the owner of an appliance service company regarding reliability is reassuring given all the horrible reviews I've seen while online shopping the last two weeks. FF7 is a very nice machine though.
