The latest Nest offers the best learning algorithm, seamless integration with Google Home, and a solid build. Firmware updates have been consistent for three years, and its 3-year warranty plus optional extended plan gives peace of mind. The Essential model keeps the core strengths of the Premium (learning, air-quality sensors) at a lower price point. Its hardware is proven over multiple years and it shares the same warranty terms as the Premium. Lacks key features of Premium, making it a poor value.
