This thermostat does things that other smart thermostats can't. I'm not exaggerating about that. On the 4-in screen, you can see a snapshot of your video doorbell if someone rings it. There's a little lock button so you can unlock the door for them. Or if you don't know who it is, you hit that lock button. It can serve as a hub for your smart home. You can pair a car devices right to it.

It has a whole bunch of features that makes it more than just a thermostat. It has the ability to do adaptive temperature guidance and clean energy guidance with the iOS 26. That's an Apple only feature. It's built into their their ecosystem so you can do that.

The device itself looks really premium. It has a 4-in full color touchscreen with a curved glass. The display is bright, crisp, and easy to read. Before you touch a single wire, there's a couple things you need to do. First, always kill the circuit breaker anytime you're working on power, so find the HVAC breaker in your panel and flip it off.

One of the neatest features I've ever seen on any smart thermostat is right here. When my doorbell rings, okay, I'm having an Aqara video doorbell, watch what happens. Hey. Look, there's me. It lets me see who's at my door. I can actually scroll through a couple of the pictures that the video doorbell has taken and then I can choose to unlock or lock my doorbell or just ignore everything.

That said, it's not perfect. The software isn't as well designed as it could be, and the design doesn't match the premium look of the likes of Nest. That said, if you don't mind those things and use Apple Home, the Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is the way to go.

W200. My thermo stat located is middle in my home. It made sense to use the product that was a smart/matter hub and easily accessible. Also it irked me the ecobee sensors ONLY worked w the thermo stat and were useless if u didnt have the ecobee thermo.

The worst part of swapping from Nest to the Aqara W200 was the different base plate shape. The W200 has a smaller base plate, so there are unpainted edges on the wall that I still haven't fixed.

In this case, the standout feature ended up being the additional screens and built-in presence sensor, not the thermostat controls themselves.

Overall I like it, just a few rough edges.
