This here, is the Speediance Gym Monster 2, which is another all-in-one home gym solution but differs in the fact that A.) it’s clearly has a built in screen, electronics and therefore some sort of smart tech integration and B.) it doesn’t actually really look too much like a piece of gym equipment at all, which I think is one of the major selling points for this machine.

The Speediance Gym Monster 2 earns the top slot on this best budget smart home gym list by delivering a complete multi-function smart gym in a frame that most one-bedroom apartments can actually accommodate. Its AI-powered digital weight system replaces separate cable stations, squat racks, and resistance stacks with a single connected machine.

These advantages come with some significant trade-offs, though, as the Gym Monster 2’s presentation and overall experience feel rougher and more stripped-down than Tonal's. It doesn’t have any live classes, can’t provide nearly as much useful form feedback, and switching between exercise configurations is much more clunky.

The build quality also feels really premium. It's super stable, not wiggly. I'm not worried about it falling over. And the touchcreen works really great. Also, the built-in speakers are surprisingly good. Sometimes I'll use it just as a speaker if I'm doing body weight exercises or stuff with free weights. I've gotten to the point where I turn it on no matter what workout I'm doing.

I’ve been using the Speediance Gym Monster 2 and it’s been a great all-in-one home gym. The digital resistance is smooth, switching exercises is fast, and the guided workouts are helpful for keeping good form. It saves a lot of space compared to traditional equipment while still allowing a wide range of strength exercises.

And if you’re a serious lifter who wants one machine to replace a small gym, the Major Fitness B17 earns its price tag.

One of the best things about the Speediance Gym Monster 2 is that it's already fully built. You're essentially just taking it carefully out of the box, putting together the bench, and unpacking all of the components. It took about an hour. I would then say you need about another hour just to get everything up and where you want it to be in your home gym.

The hardware is high quality and well thought out. It's easy to change the attachments and move the pulleys for different exercises. You could make adjustments on the barbell attachment to where you want the cables to connect. Also, the barbell swivels so that it's not in a fixed position. The smart ring lets you turn the weight on and off by just pressing the button.

This Bluetooth ring lets you activate or cut the resistance instantly with the press of a button, which means there is no weight on the cables when you're setting up. This is a huge advantage when you're going heavy. The ring also lets you increase and decrease the weight by rotating the wheel. On this shoulder press, imagine trying to get in position with 85 lbs on each cable.

It looks like a really cool piece of equipment, so I'm excited to get it opened up and try it and see what it's like. So, I'm a little curious of how this is going to work for me. I'm 6'5, I weigh 275 lb, and so I'm not a small guy, and this equipment, by the pictures, doesn't necessarily look ginormous. And it fits in your basement. It's not very tall.

So, when it comes to build quality, the IKE K1 is just superior. It's sleek. It's like one full mirror and it just looks like a speaker at a bottom. It doesn't even look like a fitness device in your house. It's kind of like this work of art. It's a part of the house. It's not this eyesore for fitness.
